Yes the cottage was disgusting and that was only half of it to be fair... We only got a partial refund unfortunately.. but I'm glad you enjoyed meeting my family and Henry really is a natural born entertainer ❤️
Trust me all holiday rentals are not the same. My sister has 4 barn/ cottages in Cumbria, they are immaculate. They even stay in them occasionally to make sure there up to standard and everything works ok. Looking forward to the day you get your dream.
It’s horrible when your holiday home is dirty, we had that a couple of times, every holiday home we stayed at were always cleaner after we left than when we arrived. You would enjoy a narrowboat holiday, the canals are lovely places to spend a few days
We've done exactly the same window shopping at Salop Leisure! All too big for our style though - happy to carry on enjoying life in the Berlingo micro-camper! So sorry about the holiday accommodation but really great to see the channel doing so well and bringing you some income. Keep up the great work :)

Hi Brendan, every cottage or caravan/lodge we have stayed in have had the electrical appliances turned off apart from one where we stayed in a lodge in Northumberland which had a hot tub .Which I would really recommend (Cabin Escapes).
Not far from some great beaches,Kielder water and Scottish borders.They do luxury caravans with full wrap around decking with hot tub open all year round.

Brendon that cottage was a health hazard and needs reporting. You do not need to put up with disgusting accommodation especially with little ones in tow. A refund and apologie are the order of the day. We have stayed in self catering cottages since 1985 and never had anything even close to what you had. Worst we've had maybe a cobweb or two etc. Like someone else said we always leave the cottage cleaner than we found it. It's great you are now looking at motorhomes, keep that dream alive and you will get there. You will have a story to tell of the journey which you are sharing with all of us. You have a great family which you have now shared with us. As always stay safe and looking forward to your next video. ❤️

Lovely family you have! Some people are just awful!! To take your money and give you a nasty dirty cottage without cleaning it!! Im glad you didnt let it ruin your family time! Thats why I love to watch your videos you have a great positive attitude!! Im sure you will have an Awesome van one day soon! I agree you should be allowed to have a license to be able to drive a heavier vehicle. Why not?

Yeh it was upsetting to be fair because it wiped out what little money I had earned from RUclips but we did get a partial refund so it wasn't all lost. Just a shame we still lost a lot of money. I'm glad you liked the introduction to my family, appreciate your support 👍
The video might be a different from your usual stuff but it was still good to watch. If it was me I would have gone town reporting that place to the to the authorities. Hope soon you get to have that family holiday and we can see you in happier times

Hello Brendan and family, cute little boy. I had two of them once, now they are big hairy, drinking, staying out late twenty somethings. You will be amazed how quickly they grow up. Enjoy him while you can. Digraceful cottage. Demand a refund. Don't forget trip advisor (with photos) if they refuse.
Shame Wales didn't go too well for yall . I couldn't get to grips with the signs and there language so I left .spent the night near a lake I'm bangor headed up holy head then went up to dumfries and now I'm going to tour Scotland. I'd most definitely say you need that fiat ducatto or big birther..van life really is a big step up from car life

Yeh there is but with how small they are it's not worth buying something that's twice the price of a van conversion with the same space 👍. If we can all drive up to 7.5 then we can get something comfortable 🙂

Was really wonderful to meet your wife and adorable son you have a beautiful family! Of course, it was great to see your dad and that he was along on the family holiday, he's a great guy! Also nice to see Mika, please give a cuddle for me! This was fun seeing the campervans & what they are like in the UK. My husband & I went looking at RV's (like the first one you looked at) this weekend and are thinking of getting one next year, fingers crossed. We are retired and since his cancer (in remission now & doing great!) we feel blessed & need to treat ourselves and relax and enjoy life! So I hope one day, in the near future, you and your family can get a campervan of some kind and make some more lovely family memories! Really enjoyed watching, thank you for sharing! Crikey! It seems that Harlech is always giving you bad luck! Tbh, while it is a nice place, there really isn't much to do in the Town itself. The owners of that cottage really should've known better! Weird, that the UK goverment plans the exact opposite of what other european goverments did some years ago - raise the limit, instead of lowering it. With my german license (made in 1984) I'm allowed to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tons (plus a trailer, 12 ton overall limit). My sons made their licenses in the last years and for them the limit is 3.5 tons and they are not allowed to tow a trailer (an extra test is required for a trailer). There were too many accidents with unexperienced drivers driving 7.5 ton trucks, that is why they lowered the limit.
Yeh I do think there should be a certain length of time you should have been driving for the drive above 3.5 tonne, maybe 3 years? Just a shame some freedoms got taken away and it would be good to get them back 🙂
@@BrendanExplores There should be an extra training required. Some hours at a driving school, some hours driving a 7.5 ton vehicle. Keep it simple and affordable. Having your license for cars for 10 years does not make you a good truck driver. While studying I had a weekend job at a Europcar rental station, explaing trucks to people who needed them to move, how the air break and tachograph works, etc. You can't imagine how many accidents there were, people driving for 20 years were simply overstrained with a 7.5 ton truck. Nearly every weekend one of the trucks came back damaged. In my opinion 3.5 tons is a good idea. I'm pretty sure all the RVs I saw in the video are

Hi those beds were disgusting you should contact trading standards and get help getting all your money back as they were not fit for purpose reason for full refund . Then can book another better hoiladay for you and family so sad it was ruined 😔

Horrendous Brendan .the people who hired it have a duty of care to sell the holiday in a condition that is up to standard. Complain originnaly to the hirer and if no joy look for tourist information @ standard and request refund. You need to do this in the interests of others take photos for evidence .good luck 🍀 and keep us posted 🇬🇧🇬🇧☮️🌞🌞👍🍀

Well, that was a disappointment for you and your family. If there are any positives to take from this experience it's that next time make sure and ask that the place is recently cleaned to a high standard for your arrival. (I know you shouldn't have to) Most places would be more than willing to accommodate any additional requests. Especially off-season. I hope you get a full refund and an apology. In relation to the motorhome, I'd have thought the next step would be a small van conversion? you know like a Caddy or Partner. I've been touring in my Honda Civic for the past two years and love it but now I'm getting itchy feet and about to buy an old Partner LWB for conversion. My own van life story is about to start for real ;-) Keep your chin up. I look forward to seeing your next video.

I think a caddy wouldn't be much bigger than my car to be honest and I want to be able to take the family with me from time to time so it will be a lwb relay type van. My mum, dad and unenthusiastic teenage me went to stay in a holiday cottage up the banks of Loch Ness. My dad had suffered from leukaemia for 10yrs so this was our first, last and only holiday. The mile long track upto the hell hole (sorry, holiday cottage) all but wrecked our already knackered Vauxhall Viva but when we arrived it paled into insignificance when we saw what awaited us.. Stephen King couldn't have come up with a more nightmarish hellhole. Inside we were greeted by blood stains, the stench of death and a bedroom upstairs with 7 seven beds in, where we joked that's where the dwarfs had died...we never did find Snow White.. After a night staying awake, watching a spider doing laps of the ceiling my dad approached the woman who's aboad it belonged to. He explained we would be leaving that morning, that he was unwell (understatement) but would pay half a week in good faith. The old bitch insisted the full amount...! As a teenager I wanted to do a bit of minor vandalism because I felt for my dad but the place was such a shithole there was little less to do..Here's hoping Nessie got her lol 😉
Gutted for you some people are becoming very selfish and complacent- get yourself a van or you mentioned driving ambulances - have you got access to a second hand one ? Well maintained and probably looked after - start a go fund me ! Keep up the good work

Only in Britain! So wish we had more Fiat variety here in the states. I have a 2017 Fiat 500X of which I will be car camping for the first time this coming weekend! I will also be launching my own RUclips travel channel called "Scarlet Scoots". The name of my Fiat is Scarlet and will document her travels as she scoots around the United States! PS - I FINALLY got a Ridge Monkey. Had to order it from eBay, and it was bloody expensive, but I believe it to be worth every penny! It's waiting for me at the PO as we speak!!!!

Shame Wales didn't go too well for yall . I couldn't get to grips with the signs and there language so I left .spent the night near a lake I'm bangor headed up holy head then went up to dumfries and now I'm going to tour Scotland. I'd most definitely say you need that fiat ducatto or big birther..van life really is a big step up from car life

Yeh before 1997 we could drive up to 7.5 tonne and then anyone who passed after that could only drive up to 3.5. Hopefully it does change 👍
Not sure what size vans you're looking at buddy. But there's plenty of motorhomes rated at 3.5t. Not a massive payload though.
Yeh there is but with how small they are it's not worth buying something that's twice the price of a van conversion with the same space 👍. If we can all drive up to 7.5 then we can get something comfortable 🙂

Was really wonderful to meet your wife and adorable son you have a beautiful family! Of course, it was great to see your dad and that he was along on the family holiday, he's a great guy! Also nice to see Mika, please give a cuddle for me! This was fun seeing the campervans & what they are like in the UK. My husband & I went looking at RV's (like the first one you looked at) this weekend and are thinking of getting one next year, fingers crossed. We are retired and since his cancer (in remission now & doing great!) we feel blessed & need to treat ourselves and relax and enjoy life! So I hope one day, in the near future, you and your family can get a campervan of some kind and make some more lovely family memories! Really enjoyed watching, thank you for sharing! Crikey! It seems that Harlech is always giving you bad luck! Tbh, while it is a nice place, there really isn't much to do in the Town itself. The owners of that cottage really should've known better! Weird, that the UK goverment plans the exact opposite of what other european goverments did some years ago - raise the limit, instead of lowering it. With my german license (made in 1984) I'm allowed to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tons (plus a trailer, 12 ton overall limit). My sons made their licenses in the last years and for them the limit is 3.5 tons and they are not allowed to tow a trailer (an extra test is required for a trailer). There were too many accidents with unexperienced drivers driving 7.5 ton trucks, that is why they lowered the limit.
Yeh I do think there should be a certain length of time you should have been driving for the drive above 3.5 tonne, maybe 3 years? Just a shame some freedoms got taken away and it would be good to get them back 🙂
@@BrendanExplores There should be an extra training required. Some hours at a driving school, some hours driving a 7.5 ton vehicle. Keep it simple and affordable. Having your license for cars for 10 years does not make you a good truck driver. While studying I had a weekend job at a Europcar rental station, explaing trucks to people who needed them to move, how the air break and tachograph works, etc. You can't imagine how many accidents there were, people driving for 20 years were simply overstrained with a 7.5 ton truck. Nearly every weekend one of the trucks came back damaged. In my opinion 3.5 tons is a good idea. I'm pretty sure all the RVs I saw in the video are

Horrendous Brendan .the people who hired it have a duty of care to sell the holiday in a condition that is up to standard.
Complain originnaly to the hirer and if no joy look for tourist information @ standard and request refund.

Well, that was a disappointment for you and your family. If there are any positives to take from this experience it's that next time make sure and ask that the place is recently cleaned to a high standard for your arrival. (I know you shouldn't have to) Most places would be more than willing to accommodate any additional requests. Especially off-season. I hope you get a full refund and an apology. In relation to the motorhome, I'd have thought the next step would be a small van conversion? you know like a Caddy or Partner. I've been touring in my Honda Civic for the past two years and love it but now I'm getting itchy feet and about to buy an old Partner LWB for conversion. My own van life story is about to start for real ;-) Keep your chin up. I look forward to seeing your next video.

My mum, dad and unenthusiastic teenage me went to stay in a holiday cottage up the banks of Loch Ness. My dad had suffered from leukaemia for 10yrs so this was our first, last and only holiday. The mile long track upto the hell hole (sorry, holiday cottage) all but wrecked our already knackered Vauxhall Viva but when we arrived it paled into insignificance when we saw what awaited us.. Stephen King couldn't have come up with a more nightmarish hellhole. Inside we were greeted by blood stains, the stench of death and a bedroom upstairs with 7 seven beds in, where we joked that's where the dwarfs had died...we never did find Snow White.. After a night staying awake, watching a spider doing laps of the ceiling my dad approached the woman who's aboad it belonged to. He explained we would be leaving that morning, that he was unwell (understatement) but would pay half a week in good faith. The old bitch insisted the full amount...! As a teenager I wanted to do a bit of minor vandalism because I felt for my dad but the place was such a shithole there was little less to do..Here's hoping Nessie got her lol 😉
Gutted for you some people are becoming very selfish and complacent- get yourself a van or you mentioned driving ambulances - have you got access to a second hand one ? Well maintained and probably looked after - start a go fund me ! Keep up the good work

A Fiat van camper?!?!?! Only in Britain! So wish we had more Fiat variety here in the states. I have a 2017 Fiat 500X of which I will be car camping for the first time this coming weekend! I will also be launching my own RUclips travel channel called "Scarlet Scoots". The name of my Fiat is Scarlet and will document her travels as she scoots around the United States!
PS - I FINALLY got a Ridge Monkey. Had to order it from eBay, and it was bloody expensive, but I believe it to be worth every penny! It's waiting for me at the PO as we speak!!!!
