One of many differences between the NBA and WNBA is the former was making money. My understanding is that WNBA has been losing 10 mill for over 25 yrs. Recently its been 12 mill
NBA is supporting the WNBA. I have no issue with that....but they need come with a marketing strategy to change that all.
The College womens basketball is where its at the moment. Those young talents that are becoming popular could become Wnba players and that will increase viewers
Along with your idea of a reality programme will definitely help with understanding WNBA process in recruitment. I think there needs to be new teams and more opportunities to develop

I agree said the same thing if you don't do what David Stern did and transfer that marketability from college to the WNBA you gonna lose out eventually. People fall in love with these young ladies in college and want to keep the affair going at the next level. Then as far as the NBA expanding, why don't they open the WNBA up to fan ownership like the Green Bay Packers, it's nothing wrong with trying something different make them ticket holder owner investors and put more eyeballs on the game.

You know how many girls that's gonna make teams that choked on the big stage all four years. Come on man give these girls a chance. Those numbers don't matter. Even though they have numbers. Look at the team she was on. Look at south Carolina girls numbers. None of them have any numbers at all. Even Boston. 12 points and 8 rebounds. Come on man!!!!!!

I feel you I like them both Williams has a bag in the post that's lacking in many and alexis built for the moment but I was just trying to view from the standpoint of maybe how these teams would and simulate what those camps looked like with the stakes being that high most possessions was probably tough defense and with short time to prove based on the numbers against tough defense she possibly could have been inefficient in camp and she also looked and sounded defeated after the first day but I just wish we were able to see both are good talents just need the right situation

The WNBA commissioner doesn't know how to think outside of the box it's no way in the hell I'm not finding spots of for rookies coming out of an NCAA tournament that had 9.9 million eyeballs. I would have taken the top rookie players from the elite 8 and stuck them on a roster or formed an all-rookie development team repping the WNBA playing overseas, on military bases, and against basketball clubs; now you got the fans pissed, vowing not to support the league, a public relations blunder for sure.

I think the WNBA missed a golden opportunity for visibility by dumping these two LSU players and not drafting the other shooting guard after their spectacular performance on the national stage instead of figuring out a way to utilize their marketability to be ambassadors for the league. Stern when he was commissioner of the NBA, saved the NBA from financial ruin when he made sure Larry Bird got to Boston and Magic got to the Lakers, you not going to convince me that wasn't orchestrated? I believe it was years in the making. Yes, most of the rookie who comes into the NBA still needs some development, but I'm sorry, you're not bout to tell me every player on every WNBA roster is an elite player; that's not what I'm seeing. The WNBA, if they can't expand rosters and teams, should find a way to keep their most marketable rookies coming out of college around, even if it's by placing them on a nonplaying but practice rookie spot close to the hometown team or a team closet to the college where they were an attraction even if they have to use NIL deals to pay them salaries. They could be doing all kinds of things like skill camps in grammar, high school, the AAU circuit, and public relations activities. They could keep one rookie on each roster and then set up promotional games and events for them at Military bases under the Hoops for Troops program. 9.9M set of eyes were on these ladies two weeks ago, and you do nothing to try and take advantage of the potential audience that would like to see them play at some next level...the guys have a G league? I don't know; I just feel running overseas is a waste of an asset. Every famous money-making person in the entertainment game is not the most skilled but damit they are the most marketable. If the WNBA doesn't improve the league's marketability, they eventually are going to fold. JMO

I be completely honest. The reason why I started watching women's College basketball is becuase I saw Angel Reese name trending lol I did not know what she did. I then realised she was a College basketball player..I thought let hear what she got to say...Immediately Angel lively personality got me interested in watching the games. The vibes she brings to Court..the trash talking..the die hard attitude she has to get the rebounds..the blks...the inspiration she was given to team mates...I saw the talents Alexis..the quiet but business lole Ladizhia...Flua Jae ball player rapper lol it looked exciting..In a space of 2 weeks..I knew who Caitlin clark,Paige Boston, Hailey, and some of the teams l watched a lot of games leading up to the final NCC. After the final the Angel reese trash talking and taunting of Caitlin Clark who is a tremendous player. All blown out of proportion.
I then realised that Paige, Angel, Cameron, Caitlin, Cardosa, Hailey and a lot more talent was recruiting in the last yr. While Paige and Caitlin both lost in finals...Angel, Cameron and Cardosa are all Championship winners. Angels probably the most memorable winner for a while.
Like many people who may not watch the Wnba I was hoping to watch via these College basketball player that I know. This would help me get to know some of the greats in the world Wnba
There be so many people like me.
I understand that this has been the Wnba recruitment process for a while. Can't have special treatment for LSu players...but they need to have same energy when I am seeing players with not very good records..limited minutes per game and still be playing for the whole season.
      1) I think Wnba coaches should contact players earlier if they know their going be picked..( not the ranking order) They could be given some private lessons by the Wnba coaches to get them up to speed with the style of player...( maybe done after a team have been knocked out) or there needs to be a development period that is longer than 2 friendly matches before deciding whether a player is good enough or not
      2) I have already mentioned various reality programme ideas..some exclusive fillming.
There will some players who may have huge popularity from playing in College but are not a fit or don't want want to go to the Wnba. Look at those 2 miami twins..who decided to join the WWE
Probably get paid more than most basket ball players....Anyway surely there is a space for them to bring in more eyes if their affiliated to a basketball team
Anyway as we have both discussed its about the Wnba adopted there structure ( proccess of recruiting, expanding and working with the NCC to make a smooth transition for some of our best College ballers..to Wnba)
Rather than the Wnba leading the way...its the opposite...they now need to tailor new structure that allows them to benefit from the huge interest in College womens basketball
Can you ever imagine Mens College basketball being more popular than the NBA
Hopefully some changes will be made with Wnba

They don't want to play with teammates. When you in high school the coach let them do whatever. College test their real abilities. WNBA is Elite mentality and physical as one. It's simply a numbers game. A lot of really good players either get cut or go undrafted every year, and it's due primarily to there only being 12 teams in the league. That's compared to the NBA which has 30, NFL 32, MLB 30, NHL 32 and MSL 29. There is literally no where for them to go. It's business 101, supply and demand. Adding just two more teams would mean 24 new players in the league, with Alexis being one. Expansion is the #1 solution. With that being the case, I think choosing future cities located in states that do not currently have a professional sports team would create excitement and support, e.g., Montgomery, Alabama; Richmond, Virginia; Omaha, Nebraska; Wichita Kansas. This is subjective of course.

You had 9.9 million people attached to these young ladies in the final 4, and you just dismissed them instead of finding a way to work that marketing in? It's about attachments; that's what builds brand emotional attachment. They gonna pass on Reese and FlauJae Johnson to even if they get show and tell drafted they aren't going to make a roster either if you look at the rookies that just got sent home.
