What really strikes out here is that this wasn’t some evil plan of Vlad’s. He was genuinely trying to help an distraught and traumatized boy, and it just went horribly wrong.
What strikes me wired is that Ghost Dsnny would do such a thing, I thought Ghost Danny would carry the same thoughts and afflictions Regular Danny would take. I thought it'd be more possible to have Ghost Danny just try to immediately return to Danny's body after being pulled like that
@@LelouchOnTwiYou basically answered your own question there. "Carry the same thoughts and afflictions..." Imagine the depressing and angry thoughts and feelings being repressed by Danny during that time, no longer wanting to be a hero because he lost his loved ones. Now, the ghost part of him has been seperated from his body, carrying these dark thoughts and emotions as an independent sentient being, seemingly as if to be disposed of, like junk.
0:38 I like how Vlad's expression changes. He might have been planning to torment Danny, but when he saw how distraught Danny really was, he dropped it and decided to help him instead. Vlad wasn't lying when he said he was the only one who could understand what Danny was going through. He understood perfectly.
@@jimmyelkordy3752 he was definitely planning to manipulate him with the evil sound cue at first and fake smile/shoulder touch. I have no doubt he had long stretches of loneliness and regret over the years and immediately understood what Danny was going through. That’s when he decided to help.
When you think about it, Evil Danny literally lost everything. I guess Vlad saw that he really couldn’t do anything to hurt him anymore and instead decided to help him.

As a kid I thought maybe he wanted to remove the ghost half. As an adult I realize that Vlad is devastated by Maddie’s death and just seeing a kid who lost his entire family in one freak accident. Even the most evil humans would feel bad
Honestly this was a pretty dark episode, like just this part alone in which Dark Danny straight up murders his human self but left Vlad alive to tell the tale of his beginning is just dark on it's own.
i dont think he left vlad alive intentionally. yeah he explicitly went out of his way to kill danny, but the house also literally exploded. im pretty sure dan just assumed vlad would be dead as he stayed in the ruined mansion and never left for 10 years. i was honestly surprised myself to even see that vlad was durable enough to survive being at ground zero like that.
@@MasterOfTruck Yeah like if I know anything about explosions, you have to take into account the epicenter of an explosion like the further away you are from the center of a blast, the less energy you're getting hit with and while it is not shown here, it was very much likely that the mansion exploding didn't hit Vlad that much or he was further away enough to the point that the energy from the explosion didn't hit him that hard.

@@Yoshirocks92 vlad's ghost portal wasnt in the lab that was in his mansions basement, it was at vladco. thats why dan never found it. vlad was presumed dead because dan got too over-zealous (but lets be real, you wouldnt really expect anyone to survive an explosion of that magnitude to the face anyway). if dan knew he was still alive, he wouldve never wasted his years searching for vlad's portal to destroy it but rather just beat the answer out of him to get its location.
1:28 David Kaufman's scream here still gives me goosebumps to this day! It really made the transformation into Dark Danny feel even MORE agonizing than it looked with the cracks in Danny's skin!
There were probably more factors than that, but that’s what causes the chain of events to be set in motion for Danny to end up losing his world and his humanity.
The nasty sauce overheated. And mr lancer of all people had a mandatory meeting with the Fentons there. Even sam and tucker were there for support. Did this happen in the original timeline?
@@themasterofcommentsandrese4351 I think the only difference between both the original explosion and the one involving Dark Danny was that none of Clockwork’s interference happened and he wasn’t the cause for past Danny to end up getting the C.A.T answers. There were probably a few original ghosts that went after Danny that day and caused similar incidents, but Box Lunch and Dark Danny were the ones to have events play out exactly, whether by accident or by force.
A good Villain with real motivations, sticks to those motives whether they stay true or get twisted. Its very good to see that Vlad still retained seeing that he could be the family for Danny that he always wanted to be but understands under those circumstances he’s more respectful of what he needs to be supported. Its just sucks how inherently evil their ghosts happen to be.
I don't think Danny's other half was evil just angry after everything that happened to him. Vlad took the human hurting away and all that was left was the anger and the ghost half was just attacked by those claws in his chest. I see why he attacked Vlad
@@lightdarksoul2097 But then... *why rip Vlad of HIS human half and then DIVE HEADFIRST to **_MERGE_** with the ghostly bastard?* I dunno, me feels Ghost Danny had always had that little bit of evil deep inside, with only Danny's humanity keeping it in check. I'm surprised the Nickelodeon censors even allowed this episode to air at all. Even an 8 year old would understand Human Danny was murdered by his corrupted ghost half.
@@dwecktekI never thought that Danny was killed by his ghost if it weren't for comments in this video. Maybe those who censoring Nick back then are also having same thought like me.
I was around 5, maybe even less, years old when this episode aired. And I immediently got that Danny was brutally murdered. But instead of being traumatized, I was just shocked. Both at how scary, tragic, and badass this scene was
@@TimberlakeTigerGirl Actually, they were a bit tighter back then. The Avatar: The Last Airbender regulations prevented them from showing death directly for the most part but changed by the time they got to Korra to show more dark and gritty things.
Danny was hardly a nobody. Dude was basically a superhero. Also, his one bad day wasn't the issue, it was what someone else did to this to help him cope with it.
The fact that Danny's ghost self in this didn't even hesitate to attack Vlad, ripped out Vlad's ghost half, and merge with it is something you'd never expect. Even killing Danny's human self is horrifying 😳
I never understood why Danny's ghost half did that seeing they've been separated before and he immediately returned to Danny or continued to be a hero. But he carried all of Danny's darkest emotions during his most difficult time. Without his human self to keep him in check all he wanted to do was inflict the same pain on others. Combining with Vald's ghost half who also carried his resentment for losing Maddy and well, you get that.
I saw a good comment once regarding a final confrontation he'd have with his adult self " 'Why'd you fuse with Vlad? You could have gone any other way!' 'Well, without my humanity holding back, I sought what all ghosts sought, power, and with Vlad's years of expertise, I knew it was an opportunity far too good to pass up, sure I didn't count on the side effects, but I daresay the pros outweighed the cons' "
I’m starting to think that after a while even the hurt that Danny Felt and wanted to escape his Phantom side wanted to escape form feeling that pain as well, and especially all on his own knowing that Danny didn’t want him no more as of Blaming the Phantom for the lost of the family and Friends , it was wayyy too much for either of them to bare. It also reminds me of Peter and Venom when Peter no longer wanted Venom for his own personal reasons, Venom having a mind of its own. Grew to hate Peter because he was hurt by the fact that he was no longer wanted anymore. Both Danny and the Phantom lost a lot in this scene
ngl I just go with this as the background, Alternate Danny Traumatized from all this asked to be split from his Humanity, One took on his Negative Mental and Deepest thoughts separated as a Ghost and the other was just dealing with the rest of the emotional and mental toll, maybe along the lines of what to do with himself or a purpose after what had occurred. The Ghost that remained had all of Danny's memories so maybe it just wanted to conflict the world with his rage and wanted to consolidate his power with Vlad's Ghost Half. With the other episode Danny only separated his Motivated/Heroic Self into a Ghost, While the Human side just took on a unmotivated self and only wants to entertain himself with distractions. Also they had different methods of separation, situation, reasoning (One was about Family Loss, The other was like Having a Life or smthin. (Blame the writers for re-using the same separation story idk)
This is my favorite kind of villain. It’s not just a villain of the week, nor just an evil counterpart trope, but is the actual protagonist who became the very thing he swore to destroy. Then have him go up agains the his original self before becoming evil. In these type of stories the main protagonist knows how powerful he is and knows how to out smart anyone, but doesn’t think about how much a threat he could potentially become. This gives tension to the story where if the protagonist is the most power in existence, and if he turned evil, it could mean the world’s total annihilation. Some examples are, Injustice Superman, The Batman Who Laughs, and The Dark Lord from Doom Eternal.
Makes you realize that Danny’s ghost half really did have his own personality and once Danny turned against him and blamed it for what happened his alter ego actually murdered him for it
No that’s not what happened. Ghosts are fuelled by negative emotions so when he used them to separate Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom. All his rage, bitterness and vengefulness went to his ghost half. That’s why once his ghost half woke up he was very angry. Even though Vlad has shown him kindness during his worst moments and took him in. The first thing he did was take away the only thing Vlad had. His ghost half , Vlad Plasmius. Since he was incomplete just like Vlad’s ghost half. Instead of merging with a human half. He decided to merge with a ghost half and become full ghost.
@@martmandred9182Danny Phantom displays wrath, sadism and vengefulness even before fusing with Vlad Plasmius. He knows Vlad was just trying to help but immediately attacks him. Smiles as he takes the only thing Vlad has in his life away from him.
I think Danny’s ghost reacted like that was because until that Moment Danny was half ghost, his ghost will be effected by things on his human side and Vice versa. So those painful emotions were affecting it, his rage and depression of Everyone he loved dying and his anger towards Vlad were the reason he did that, then when Vlad’s More Powerful, evil ghost mixed with it it created that truly evil persona Dark Danny had
Idk where people are getting the "he kept the human half's corpse inside himself" aspect. Because he changed into his human self in the episode? I just assumed he was able to shape shift to a certain point. At least to look like his human self.
It’s because he rings back to being part human and as a teenager no less since thats when his himan life ended. How can he do that when the two parts of him are all ghost? If it was shapeshifting he would have just turned into him with such a power (which we don’t even know if all ghosts can learn that ability). Its very morbid to think about he may well have kept the body for if he needed a human disguise.
I don't think its a corpse I think its a modified version of his ability to turn back into a human. That explosion probably destroyed most of his human self if not all of it. I know Vald survived but it seems Danny took the full brunt of it. I think after Dan Phantom killed his human self his ability to turn back into a human changed into an ability to look like his former human self before he died but he is still a ghost. Which would explain why he couldn't just transform back and walk through the ghost shield.
1. I always loved the idea that Vlad, even at his worst, still respected Danny 2. I am SO GLAD that we finally got the answer to the loose plot thread that is Dark Danny.
@@homerman76 At the end of the special, its implied that, eventually, Dark Danny would get free from his capsule. Won't say anything more for spoiler reasons. But I highly recommend it if you want a more satisfying conclusion to the show than what we got. Just a little note tho: The canonicity of the comic is a bit up in the air since Butch Hartman had nothing to do with it. This was quite the Movie event for Nickelodeon! Never before had I seen one of their shows take such a dark turn! I mean all of Danny's friends and family died in an explosion, and his evil ghost self kills his human self! That felt more like something akin to an animated adult sitcom like the Simpsons! But I can definitely appreciate them for going so dark in a kid's show. Made for, imo Danny Phantom's best episode! Kudos to Butch for doing what SpongeBob would never dare to do!
The earlier show “are you afraid of the dark” went into super dark territory quite regularly, funnily enough. This was one of the few times that “batch” of Nickelodeon shows did though.
@@videogameguy101 excuse me but Fairly Oddparents is my favorite Nicktoon! I've seen every episode and movie! Similar to Onslaughts origin from Marvel Basically Professor Xavier used his powers to remove all of Magneto's evil personality but instead they went into him and also gained Magneto's powers
Speaking of Marvel Comics, it goes similar to the Hulk and the Maestro relations. Maestro is an evil future version of the Hulk who was defeated when he underestimated his younger self.
Except here, Danny tried to possess Vlad...and instead of Vlad absorbing Danny to become even more powerful, Danny somehow absorbs Vlad from within and turns evil. 15 years later and this plothole still doesn't make sense.
He was responsible for creating Danny phantom but he wasn’t responsible for the writing. If you want his writing you can think season 3, an that was a shit show. He didn’t like the idea of ghosts being dead people, an he definitely wouldn’t hav let evil Danny kill his human half
No, it only acted that way bc of the pain and guilt and hate he had for himself which carried on into his ghost half. There's been another time when his ghost half and human half split but his ghost half never turned malicious. There's also another time when his ghost half flies right back into his human half.
Have yall seen and noticed at 1:41 how danny got damaged from his looks before getting killed by his own half fused evil ghost. Dark danny really fucked him up showing no mercy and having him killed afterwards.
Which is stupid because Vlad, despite getting his ass kicked several times too many in the show, is portrayed as a stronger and more experienced reflection of Danny...and yet anything Vlad can do, Danny ends up doing better...just because.
@@GhostGuy99 It's a prominent line of thought, lots of people within the Phandom subscribe to it, that Danny in comparison to the elder Vlad is a more _complete_ hybrid, being that he was infused with ectoplasm from the entirety of the Ghost Zone via a full-body shot *all. at. once,* that his transformation was instant, whilst Vlad himself only had ectoplasm hit him in the face, as such as it sank into his pores the substance gradually (again, he was hospitalized for YEARS) spread to and overtook/mutated the rest of his body.
Im not sure a kids show has ever gone darker than this. The protagonists family and friends all dying in an explosion leads him to his arch nemesis who trys to make him an emotionless husk, but instead makes him evil and kills him, leaving said nemesis alive just to wallow in the pain of what had happened. Sure the disaster is averted in the episode, but the fact they went this far and explicitly killed this many people is crazy.
@@hidan407 It's simple Carnage Spider (Spider-Man The Animated Series 90s). Wolf Spider (Ultimate Spider-Man). Evil counterparts of Peter Parker from different alternative universes.
Despite of that, Vlad was still a bad person without his ghost power. In the alternate timeline where Danny tried to prevent accident happened, it was Jack (Danny's father) who had Vlad's ghost power, while Vlad became an abusive husband, treating Maddie as his own crown jewel than loving her.
He was probably going to destroy Danny's Future by having him Work at the Nasty Burger since one of the employees was at the meeting for the CAT Testing
Only if they have the same writers/quality of writing, as well as the same animation style, as before (Also, little to no intervention from corporate Nickelodeon that would compromise the quality of the show). Otherwise, this show will probably be given the Teen Titans Go treatment.
I guess therapy & counseling aren't much of a go-to thing in this universe; like, why bother hiring someone to talk with Danny and help him through the grieving process when you can just do this lol
To be fair, I don't think Vlad or Danny had any idea it was even possible. They just thought it was a much faster solution than having to carry the pain forever.
More when all of that were consequences of Danny's choices Wich I find too realistic for this show like none told Danny to cheat on the exam yet he decided to do so anyway and instead of admitting he was wrong he blamed his powers instead
I’m going to assume that therapy and grief counseling wouldn’t help due him being human-ghost hybrid .This may have been one the few viable options for Danny .
I didn’t like how things ended for Vlad in the final episode. I know he was evil, but this episode expresses that he had a good soul deep down, even more so when he showed genuine remorse for his wrongdoings.
So, Danny was never the culprit here at all. It was just one stupid mistake that kicked off a crazy chain of events that lead to a genuine humanitarian science experiment going horribly wrong. The kind of “wrong” that resulted in the ghost half of his supernatural essence gaining sentience, which then turned evil, killed it’s only mortal bond, and became the deadliest threat to humanity Amity Park and the Ghost Zone have ever faced. This show has a fair number of grim moments, but this episode by far takes the cake. What I can’t quite figure out is who exactly was the real Danny. I always thought Vlad was trying to get rid of Danny’s powers by separating the ghost half from the human half. But now I don’t understand who the “real” Danny is. Is it the human side who wanted to make the pain go away, or is it the ghost side who embodied Danny’s pain altogether?
This should help. Tumblr user @Monotype-on-phantom has a fabulous post, from several years back, that goes into detail on how exactly they conceive of Danny’s being a human/ghost hybrid, on whether or not _Phantom_ in and of itself exists as an entirely seperate conscious entity. monotype-on-phantom.tumblr.com/post/164286890341/yo-i-think-about-this-a-lot-but-where-dannys
Yeah before this storyline the ghost transformation seemed like just a boost in power and slight change in appearance but here they kinda make it seem like Danny and his ghost half are like Banner and the Hulk.
@@yeetnessthegreater1298 That’s the superficial nature of the situation. What I’m trying to understand is which half represents Danny’s true self, not as both human and ghost, but as a person in either entity. His mind, body, and soul were obviously split in two, but which one of them is acting FOR Danny. Did “he” make the decision that turned him evil, or is “he” the normal 14-year-old boy the ghost half left behind? Plus, all that stuff Vlad said about “no more painful human emotions to drag you down” just make the grasping even less possible
Okay, couple of questions: why did Danny’s ghost half attack Vlad, and why did he try to possess Vlad’s ghost half? These are random things that just happened out of nowhere.
I think the separation process went backwards. Danny wanted Vlad to take aways his emotions to stop grieving, but the split caused the ghost half to come out with no feeling. So he was acting on self-preservation only, not caring the reason Vlad separated Danny from his ghost half.
I always think Dark Danny let Vlad Masters live because Vlad Plasmius didn’t want him dead. Vlad ghost half was the only thing he had in his life. Unlike Phantom who was betrayed and discarded by Danny.
Danny Phantom was my favorite character on television and I loved it so much since when I was a kid. I wish they made more episodes of it because it was way better than SpongeBob and Fairy odd parents. I wish they would have made a crossover with Kim Possible and Ben 10 and My life as a Teenage Robot and Jake Long.
I did wish Vlad was not made out to be a true villain in the series finale. He shoulve been more of an anti hero kind of figure. The Ultimate Enemy really shows Vlad's kind and caring side
Danny’s pain in that moment is unfathomable. It’s like a bottomless pit, but the idea of taking his human self away to remove it, that is a mistake in more ways than what’s portrayed. The right thing to do would be just to be there for Danny as he worked through his grief, make sure he wasn’t alone and try to be apart and build him a new support system. It’d take a long time to heal from wounds like that, a lot of adults don’t, and even when he would heal he’d have permanent scars, but Danny is 14, he could’ve still had a future, a bright one.
I still have this theory that danny never wanted this and vlad was doing an experiment on danny without his knowledge that went wrong and now he is telling a false story and merely helping again means redemption for that past deed.
After seeing this years later makes me question the entire thing. 1. How does removing the ghost get rid of human emotions? What was the plan? 2. So his ghost side was always evil? 3. Has Vlad or Danny ever tried to possess one another before? Even if they didn't how was he able to easily control his body? Can't ghosts be kicked out if the hosts will is strong enough? 4.How is possessing his ghost half cause them to merge? 5. Also how did Vlad survive but human Danny didn't?
I'll try to answer these best I can 1. It can be said that the negative emotions are multiple as a half ghost throughout the show Danny is shown to get stronger with negative emotions. So a ghost half any negative emotions is higher than a regular person. Plan was probably to remove his ghost half temporary so the emotions Danny felt wasn't as intense and also Danny didn't do anything he would have regretted later on and later merge the two back. 2. I wouldn't say evil I believe his half is power by negative feelings. And as someone once said awhile ago the ghost half might of felt rejected by Danny because it was going through the same emotion but now was rejected by it's last person he was pushed to the edged and found safety in Vlad ghost emotions. 2. Yes they have actually at least Danny had for Vlad but I believe not as a ghost but his human half. Also it's based on intention if you don't plan to fuse it won't happen. 4. This is just me but I believe it is based on intent just as being able to fly or go through things. They would have to want it. Ofc they have to be powerful enough too as we saw Danny was overwhelmed by Vlads ghost half but Danny goal was just to fuse not really caring if it was him or Vlad 5. It is said Dark Danny wanted someone to tell his story of how he came to be. But to me it is a mixture of Vlad Ghost half not wanting to hurt him and Danny knowing that Vlad is the last person that could remember the family he lost. As for his human half after being rejected and blaming himself he couldn't and wouldn't forgive himself for being weak and his human half reflects that
I asked the same things and, while this was still a fantastic two-parter, wouldn't it have been smarter if Danny and Vlad's ghost halves ACTUALLY fused to make a whole new ghost that's much more powerful than both of them separately? Like, they're both ghost halves, so merging them together should've made a DBZ fusion of the two that threatens everything and everyone. Instead, Ghost Danny tried to posess Ghost Vlad, it backfired, Vlad's powers corrupted Danny and basically turned him evil, they treat Dark Danny as a darker reflection of the real Danny, and never once does Vlad's mannerisms or personality traits or even memories arise within Dark Danny.
@@omarbrown3760That threw me off when i first watched. This was the first time they treat the ghost "half" as a kind of separate persona like the Hulk right? I always saw the Danny Phantom transformation as just a powerup.
@@montecristosmith2343 yeah same never thought of him as a separate person and I figured it was the case for awhile but as he grew his ghost half did as will creating a more instinctive personality that only Danny human half unknowingly held back
Pretty much. The guy tried to possess Vlad, and somehow that caused Vlad to get absorbed instead of the other way around? I'd get it if Ghost Danny tried to absorb Ghost Vlad, and it'd make the transformation make more sense but...nope.
The funny/ironic thing about villians like that is once they finally get what they've wanted its never in a way that they expected. And then more often than not they have no idea what to do with themselves other than wither about in their regrets.
judging by how damaged Danny looks... Dark Danny might didn´t just killed him right away. But i guess "played" a little with him. And by how Vlad´s reaction... i guess, he heard Danny´s screams until it went silent, as Vlad escaped the mansion. And the last thing he saw, was the explosion and a devilsh laughter of Dark Danny.
Theory time *Da dada daaaaa!* before we begin let’s review a few things: 1. Danny’s mental state and origin of becoming Danny Phantom, 2. The Ghost Dream Catcher (Ghost Catcher of short), 3. Vlad and Danny both being half ghosts, 4. His cousin Danni and her origin/ dissolving issue, and 5. Danny’s unique ghost form. STARTING NOW: Danny became a ghost when he went in the portal, his DNA was altered but I believe his mind was also altered, half of him being him and the other half being ghost him, influenced by his human half to balance out a sweet spot= normal Danny. Danny’s ghost form is also extremely unique, being able to absorb powers from other ghost like the weather ghost, or brewing powers like the ice power which has been with him since the beginning only to be awakened later, like a fruit beginning to ripe almost. *Now* with the ghost Catcher, the first time we see it he ACCIDENTALLY goes through it, his ghost half returns to him, no change, THE SECOND time we see him use it was when he split himself up to have a normal life, this time there was *Intention* behind the action: for both halves to play their respective roles, human Danny being a party teenager and ghost Danny being a super hero. Overshadowment doesn’t work to reunite them, they need to use the ghost catcher again to become whole, and this problem solved. This leads us to believe that INTENTION can impact their personality when splitting. Quick change to Danni, Danni is a failed clone of Danny who is constantly dealing with not becoming floor soup due to her unstable form, so this confirms that ghost that don’t have 100% integrity will eventually fall apart, be it days or years for all we know. Another quick change, both Vlad and Danny are HALF ghosts, 50% of them altered. Still with me? *Good* cause this is where it gets interesting. After Danny’s family was blown up being a burger joint, he feels pain, suffering, mourning and even grief, and goes to Vlad in seeking to REMOVE that pain, no doubt associated with his ghost form (kinda the root of all his problems). Vlad being manipulative or being sincere decides to grant his wish, either way it would benefit Vlad: another problem removed and maybe enough data to make his own clone kid FOR REAL! *here’s my thinking process* ghost Danny is separated, holding resentment towards human Danny for getting rid of him like trash, having potential fear of fading away due to him not being 100% ghost but only 50%, and holding intense anger toward Vlad for aiding in this deed, and being the one enemy he can take his anger on, not to mention also being a half ghost. Not wanting to die, not wanting to go back to his betrayal counterpart, but DO wanting revenge on Vlad, he separates vlads ghost, possess him to become 100% ghost, AND…well, you all know what happenes next 1:26
In Identity Crisis, Danny split his human and ghost halves using Fenton Ghost Catcher because he's sick of his responsibilities messing with his life, and he turned out fine.
Macabre to think that because of his negative emotions, Danny's ghost side became evil, separated from its bearer and even killed him, macabre and heavy if you think about it. Furthermore Vlad changed in this timeline After this tragedy and trying to help someone grieving and traumatized, this created a threat to the multiverse
The one thing they never explained in this episode is how Sam, Tucker, Jazz, Jack, Maddie, and Mr Lancer ended up strapped to the boiler in the first place , who the hell was Danny fighting? How did his friends, family, and teacher end up in the middle of it?? How did he end up using so much energy that he wasn’t able to save them?
I don’t understand why Danny’s ghost half was suddenly evil when Vlad ripped it out of him? That doesn’t make any sense. We’ve seen Danny’s ghost half separate from his human half and he wasn’t evil.
Danny was in a completely different state of mind this time when he got separated. He was grieving and depressed and when his ghost half was set free it had all those feelings but no humanity to keep it in check. The ghost half completely embraced its darkest instincts.
I still don't get it. What does 0:43 [no painful emotions] have to do with 0:53 [human/ghost splitting] and 0:59 [malevolence]? No painful emotions would imply (as far as I'm aware) uninterested and unemotional, not particularly vicious and outraged. Besides, I wouldn't say humans and ghosts (within Danny Phantom, of course) are equivalent or connected to emotions. Some people say that Danny's separated ghost-half is the form of his negative emotions, like self-anger, regret, and mourn, but that's impossible. The ghost that came out doesn't care about anyone; he has no love or respect, so he wouldn't mourn his loved ones and blame himself. Maybe it'd be best to explain in alphabetical or numerical order (preferably vertically), to help me understand and catch on. The theories they've told me can be very long, confusing, and cluttered.
(Based off what I know) I'm pretty Vlad was wrong. He ASSUMED Danny's ghost half wouldn't have any emotions but this is kinda like when Danny was split into two that one time. His ghost still had emotions as well as his human half. Point it, emotions dwell with everyone. Ghosts and humans. I assume ghost danny, at the time, was full of anger, grief and pain, which in turn led him to take it out on vlad, whom he's been fighting for a while. Afte reading the new comic, a few things make much more sense

@jakebastian6726 self-anger, regret, and mourn Ghost danny probably directed this at vlad. His mind probably wasn't clear (since splitting yourself like this never means something good or will happen smoothly). Ghost danny directed his emotions at Vlad, since he was standing over him with the Ghost gauntlets.

I believe that the fusion process was extremely painful for Danny Phantom to go through.
It’s all because of a career test he tried to cheat on resulting a bad future.

I never understood why Danny's ghost half did that seeing they've been separated before and he immediately returned to Danny or continued to be a hero. But he carried all of Danny's darkest emotions during his most difficult time. Without his human self to keep him in check all he wanted to do was inflict the same pain on others. Combining with Vald's ghost half who also carried his resentment for losing Maddy and well, you get that.
Im thinking the exact same thing
I saw a good comment once regarding a final confrontation he'd have with his adult self " 'Why'd you fuse with Vlad? You could have gone any other way!' 'Well, without my humanity holding back, I sought what all ghosts sought, power, and with Vlad's years of expertise, I knew it was an opportunity far too good to pass up, sure I didn't count on the side effects, but I daresay the pros outweighed the cons' "
So the negative emotions made Danny's ghost half volatile?
I’m starting to think that after a while even the hurt that Danny Felt and wanted to escape his Phantom side wanted to escape form feeling that pain as well, and especially all on his own knowing that Danny didn’t want him no more as of Blaming the Phantom for the lost of the family and Friends , it was wayyy too much for either of them to bare.
It also reminds me of Peter and Venom when Peter no longer wanted Venom for his own personal reasons, Venom having a mind of its own. Grew to hate Peter because he was hurt by the fact that he was no longer wanted anymore.
Both Danny and the Phantom lost a lot in this scene
ngl I just go with this as the background,
Alternate Danny Traumatized from all this asked to be split from his Humanity, One took on his Negative Mental and Deepest thoughts separated as a Ghost and the other was just dealing with the rest of the emotional and mental toll, maybe along the lines of what to do with himself or a purpose after what had occurred.
@@thedelordhimselfgokublackThe result of that was something dark. The evil of Plasmius overwhelmed Phantom, which send him into a tipping point.
@@thedelordhimselfgokublackthat answered a question I've had for years. That definitely explains why Ghost Danny immediately turned on Vlad.
Idk where people are getting the "he kept the human half's corpse inside himself" aspect. Because he changed into his human self in the episode? I just assumed he was able to shape shift to a certain point. At least to look like his human self.
Exactly.
Why would he need the human body at that point?
It’s because he rings back to being part human and as a teenager no less since thats when his himan life ended. How can he do that when the two parts of him are all ghost? If it was shapeshifting he would have just turned into him with such a power (which we don’t even know if all ghosts can learn that ability). Its very morbid to think about he may well have kept the body for if he needed a human disguise.
Killing his human self was figurative xd
I don't think he could just shapeshift otherwise he likely could have tricked someone to let him into Amity Park's force field.

Danny's new form in Ben 10/ Danny Phantom: 5YL reminds me a lot of Dark Danny!
If only we had more dark danny
Sadly we can blame the cancelation of the series and the unfortunate passing of Clockworks VA for that one.

Actually I think there's a comic that has Dark Danny as the villain that came out recently.
@@1ciodaWho? I’m lost
There is a graphic novel coming out
Who's here after reading the new Danny Phantom comic?
It's crazy how the graphic novel had his story continue.
Also weird way to continue it though.
I guess therapy & counseling aren't much of a go-to thing in this universe; like, why bother hiring someone to talk with Danny and help him through the grieving process when you can just do this lol
Well when you blame your ghost powers for what happened, it arguably seems logical to get rid of them
Considering the last counselor Danny went to wa spectra I can understand why the thought never crossed his mind
RIP Vlad Masters (the VA)

Yeah before this storyline the ghost transformation seemed like just a boost in power and slight change in appearance but here they kinda make it seem like Danny and his ghost half are like Banner and the Hulk.
They’re both Danny😐 it’s not a hard concept to grasp One half he’s human, one half he’s a ghost they’re both real
@@montecristosmith2343that’s not a good comparison

That’s the superficial nature of the situation.

The evil in Vlad’s ghost overwhelmed Danny’s ghost so that’s why human Danny was attacked but, the answer to your second question is idfk
I think the separation process went backwards. Danny wanted Vlad to take aways his emotions to stop grieving, but the split caused the ghost half to come out with no feeling.
So he was acting on self-preservation only, not caring the reason Vlad separated Danny from his ghost half.
So his ghost half acted on instinct?
@@jamesjo2048 I meant why did it attack Vlad. Sorry for not being specific.
@@stephenking5852From what I understand, the ghost Danny possessed all negative traits, including his animosity against Vlad.
I always think Dark Danny let Vlad Masters live because Vlad Plasmius didn’t want him dead. Vlad ghost half was the only thing he had in his life. Unlike Phantom who was betrayed and discarded by Danny.
Polymerization card activated, I fuse Danny Phantom and Vlad Plasmius together to form, Dark Danny, The Ultimate Enemy.
Never got over how dark this how special was it's a good one tho
This is one of my favorite Danny Phantom episodes!
I'll try to answer these best I can
Ofc they have to be powerful enough too as we saw Danny was overwhelmed by Vlads ghost half but Danny goal was just to fuse not really caring if it was him or Vlad
It seems like Danny is still in control of dark Danny, but gains vlad's former sadisticness to a degree
@@omarbrown3760That threw me off when i first watched. This was the first time they treat the ghost "half" as a kind of separate persona like the Hulk right? I always saw the Danny Phantom transformation as just a powerup.
@@montecristosmith2343 yeah same never thought of him as a separate person and I figured it was the case for awhile but as he grew his ghost half did as will creating a more instinctive personality that only Danny human half unknowingly held back
So when you get right down to it, Dark Danny is basically an evil Garnet. 🤣
Pretty much.
The guy tried to possess Vlad, and somehow that caused Vlad to get absorbed instead of the other way around?
I'd get it if Ghost Danny tried to absorb Ghost Vlad, and it'd make the transformation make more sense but...nope.

This episode really taught us the real definition of "You your own worst enemy"
judging by how damaged Danny looks...
The Joker was right all it takes is one bad day to turn to lunacy.
Did Danny became evil cos of his own greed or because of the evil ghost side of Vlad?
@@Dedi-m5n sure it was a mixed emotions of anger and regret and also having Vlad’s evil ghost half didn’t help either
Me realizing I missed that part because I was so shocked at the time damn dude he actually killed his human self...
This reminds me a lot of Zamasu and Black
Which makes no sense as to how it would. Probably because of the dark future setting

The amount of screwed up stuff i saw as a kid and completely forgot about is crazy

When chat noir gets akumatized
I don’t understand why Danny’s ghost half was suddenly evil when Vlad ripped it out of him? That doesn’t make any sense. We’ve seen Danny’s ghost half separate from his human half and he wasn’t evil.
Danny was in a completely different state of mind this time when he got separated. He was grieving and depressed and when his ghost half was set free it had all those feelings but no humanity to keep it in check. The ghost half completely embraced its darkest instincts.
It all goes back to emotions and purpose
U never watched the show
I still don't get it.
(Based off what I know)
I'm pretty Vlad was wrong.
@@dweebtastic5931 Well, remember, I said it was impossible the ghost is the form of his negative emotions, like self-anger, regret, and mourn, because he doesn't care about anyone and wouldn't mourn his loved ones and blame himself. You said "I assume ghost danny, at the time, was full of anger, grief and pain"
@jakebastian6726 self-anger, regret, and mourn
Ghost danny probably directed this at vlad. His mind probably wasn't clear (since splitting yourself like this never means something good or will happen smoothly). Ghost danny directed his emotions at Vlad, since he was standing over him with the Ghost gauntlets. Granted Danny should have known the reason why, but with fighting Vlad all this time, Ghost danny probably thought vlad had some ulterior motive

In the end, Vlad hated who he was and understood all the good that would have happened if he forgave Jack and reconciled with Maddie. Forgetting the past and focusing on what he has instead of what he had. Unfortunately they are dead and so was the child he cared for so deeply...
With all the money Vald had he could have just sent Danny to therapy and avoided all of this.
