ABOUT BENNY
Hi I'm Benny. My passion for music and creativity stretches across multiple disciplines and art-forms. I am a founding member and songwriter / lap-slide guitarist for one of Australia's best and most bearded country-bluegrass-folk bands, THE GREEN MOHAIR SUITS. To date the Mohairs have released 4 full-length albums and tour both nationally and overseas.

Hi I'm Keppie. I'm a professional songwriter, and songwriting teacher. I've been teaching song and lyric writing for over 10 years now for some of the best contemporary music colleges in the world- Berklee Online, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Open Academy, as well as for the Australian College of the Arts. At other times, I've taught for the Australian Institute of Music, as well as the LA School of Songwriting.
My goal is to help people write better songs! My experience in the classroom, with thousands of students at this point (many going on to find careers and success in music), is that your songwriting, like all things, can get better with meaningful, deliberate practice. Yeah, that was a great show Garry… I must revisit it, the themes feel more relevant now (and possibly more urgent)
This is how I feel. Many of my friends who are creatives were freaking out and I told them I wasn't in the least bit worried. AI can't feel, it doesn't have a life and emotions. It's not ever going to be us. It's a useful tool for some things. Looking forward to some extra tech in my life but won't forget what it is to be human.

I just listened to a few A.I.songs, musicians should be worried. The A.I. bluegrass song was easily of or above the average human created song in that genre
Agreed . AI is a machine that needs to be programmed
But eventually a.I will reach the point of self awareness and feel emotions

True I’ve been happily married for 24 years with two kids who I love immensely! I’m healthy have a decent job and absolutely suck as a lyricist!! I love playing and writing music but for the life of me can’t find enough angst in my soul to write half decent lyrics! Nobody wants to listen to the smug git anthem!!

But AI can emulate other people's lyrics that arose from suffering. That's the whole point. It takes organic, original things and emulates certain parts of them to create something new.

And here’s another thing about that obviously an AI algorithm doesn’t feel but the person does and I’m a musician and if you need to write something and you truly are trying to be creative and I can really help you with that specially if you’re having problems with reading or writing, or spelling, or even coming up with something it can help you, but I believe you can put the same amount of feeling into itI truly do I don’t agree with what Nick Cave says at all. It’s a blanket statement.
I don’t think that’s true my friend you’re not understanding the way AI works for everybody and there’s a lot of different elements to this that you’re not talking about and you’re making the cave out to be a patriot saint that wears a hairpiece toupee and is an energy vampire, so come on now let’s be a little bit more honest about what AI can really do to help people and stop being anegative ninny
