Restoration Rusty Knife What Is This?

- Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new knife restoration project. I'm tried to find information about this knife. I'm not sure where are from knife and for what is it. Isn't cleaver or classic knife or bayonet knife, but maybe its old version of bayonet knifes? If you have some idea, please leave a comment. Thank you in advance and lets start restoration.
As usual, I use my "favorite" method via rust remover liquid, the washing, drying and oiling. To correction shape and cutting edge I used a sanding machine. Also, I used sand papers from 40-500 grit. I left corrosion effect on the blade, because if I will remove it, I will get shine simple piece of steel.
I made a mixed knife handle. The guard is made of stainless steel, the main part is a mountain goat horn, inserts made of leather and deer antlers. The back is made of duralumin aluminum. The scabbard and spacers were made of leather. And of course, as usual, I made an interesting and delicious test for you.
Recipe of dish:
Ingredients: Pork, onion, potato, salt, pepper, sour cream, mayonnaise.
Cut the pork into small pieces and chop it off. Cut the potatoes into round slices. Fry the onion beforehand. Put the pork on a baking sheet, pour sour cream and mayonnaise, fried onions on top, then potatoes and grease everything with mayonnaise and sour cream. The cooking time is 75 minutes, 10 minutes before cooking, sprinkle everything with cheese.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

I think this knife used to be a bayonet. Great work!
Edit: I found it - it's a Russian Winchester 1895 bayonet. Someone shortened it and simplified the handle, but the shape and lenght of the fuller still make it recognizable.
Great job as always. I think it’s a military bayonet that was modified in the past
The shape of the blade and the fuller suggests that this blade may have been a bayonet in a previous life. Really nice work as always my friend.
Certainly, it seems like an old bayonet...
I was thinking the same thing.
@@davidcox2264 world war 1 era.
@@richardruiz3654 someone else in the comments identified it as an 1895 Russian Winchester bayonet 😲
Definitely WAS a bayonet. NOW it’s a work of art!!
@Wayne Flanigan the end of the handle is cut off. It could have been a bayonet that’s was altered before this gentleman restored it. My feelings are that it was an altered bayonet before this gentleman acquired it.
That Cutting-Edge Turned out well actually, because Bayonet-shaped Blades aren't designed for cutting, but Thrusting usually.
Nicely done👍
I agree. He’s the best. Education and entertainment!
And food! 😂
Hello! Thanks for this amazing video. Probably it's bayonet knife.♥️🗡👍
To turn a deadly weapon into something beautyful and usefull is a very good idea. And i did your cookin because i don't have your skills and working space. I added some garlic and WOW! I love your videos
This knife looks like a modified bayonet. Hello from a sunny South Africa! Tomorrow the temperature is going to be 36°C in Cape Town where I live!
I'm American living in Ohio. One would think that a 69 yr old woman who has never owned a home-made wouldn't enjoy this. I love your videos out all restoration videos I've seen. Not only are you extremely talented, but funny as well :)
Thank you so much! Glad to read ^_^
My bother beautiful restoration as usual. It looks like a WW1 bayonet
Quedó espetacular,te felicito tovarich
Great job on the bayonet.
Well done👍
Well done. Great looking meal.
First. Brazil. Great. Show. 👏
Awesome 👍
Suddenly, a band-aid appears.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours, from the materials used in the handle to the knife/bayonet itself to the dish you made at the end.
Fantastic man 👏👏👏👏
Beautiful job as always
Your style of working is very sincere.
Thank you!
Satisfying all the way from start to finish, amazing video Screws!
Great handle!
Always good to know you can run and dance with a knife before buying. Awesome restore!
We're all getting old if we're lucky. You make some fabulous knife handles. And food!
Love the handle, its beautiful
what a result! mad skills always make me surprised
Terrific video with a delicious meal, thank you and stay safe😊
Thank you! You too ^_^
Love the channel❤🦎
Thank you!!! ^_^
I agree that it's probably a type of bayonet. The wear on the bottom edge of the blade is common on bayonets (I wonder why🤔?). I have one that has similar wear. Anyway, your dagger design does it justice 😄👍👏
Very well done friend 👍.
these bone handle ones are so cool. Awesome job as always
WOW & I'm glad I found this channel... very impressed by his ability to make old things young and new again. I tried to do something like this on my channel and I recorded the entire video with an old microphone because the new one was lost, lost just like the sound on my video😆
Thank you so much! ^_^
Excellent work as always. Cheers! 🍻
Realy nice work as always my friend
Sehr schön gemacht, würde ich sofort nehmen 👍
Definitely a bayonet and Definitely your most creative handle, hilt and pommel so far in my opinion! And the leather was a very nice match. Let's see what you you got up your sleeve for next time!
Fantastic job 👍 that handle build is epic.
Great work.
,,good job, look great, keep safe, i'd say it was a bayonet with the rifle mount missing
Still a bayonet? I also thought it was an English-made bayonet, but I couldn't identify it for sure.
Great job once again! It definitely looks like a bayonet but it seems much longer than a usual bayonet 🤔🤷♂️. Whatever it is, Nice!
I have a US Remington M1917 bayonet from WWI and it's longer than this. Probably WWI as bayonets were longer and could also be used as swords
Great work !
Missed your Sharpening for this knife. But very knice handle installation i have seen👍
This is your best restoration by far
You got some skill’s excellent job
Me encanta ver como cocinas ruso

Good job!
Nice one comrade ♡ another great vid!
Very nice work.
Good job mister Screws
When you mixed that sauce for your dish, I thought it was two component paint! NOOO, don't stain the potatoes. I love your cooking shows too.
Thanks and nice joke)))
I would roast those pork slabs rather than bake them, and now I feel like cooking this week!
It turned out very nice, beautiful job.
I like your style👍🏻
Great handle was knife hand made
This has to be the ultimate camping knife. Cuts steaks. Complements forks. Drives off bears...
fantastic👍✨
This is your best knife , and also recipe. Your leatherworking skills also getting great. Keep going.
Thank you so much!

Absolutely beautiful handle it suet’s the long blade perfectly and your leather work is awesome. You definitely deserve your meal which looked very tasty 👍👍👍😊😊😊♥️
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you're getting old it means you're human
You just keep churning out remarkable content. This is a truly enjoyable channel!
Thank you so much!
Marvelous work like always. I’m shura it’s a bayonet. 👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice. That may have been a bayonet.
Good Job Mate !
That is a impressive size knife, still amazes me how you create such beautiful knives, just shows your the man.great video, keep it up.😎😎😎👍👍👍
Thank you so much!
Amazing! It looks like it could have been some sort of bayonet maybe.
The knife definitely makes foods taste better , indeed ! Nice job 👌
