Some notes on safety: 1) use a type 1 guard when using a cutting blade, 2) the tool should pull away from you when you cut (in case of kickback, you don't want the tool come straight back at you), 3) use a wet rated power tool when using water, 4) wear gloves and safety glasses, 5) wear a mask or respirator. Since this is just mortar, if you have a hammer and a chisel, you can have that chiseled out without a power tool.
@@JimTom. Hey JimTom, you need a guard with a diamond blade. It's in my user manual for my angle cutter and all over the Google. And regarding gloves- if you have one hand on the screw-in handle, and one on the tool itself, properly fitted gloves shouldn't get anywhere near the blade and would protect skin from anything sharp that goes flying 😬
@@FG-fn9fx Clearly you have no experience with grinders. Gloves are a big no no near spinning machines. Diamond blades wont cut your hand nor will they shatter like metal cutting discs. Youre clearly just a home DIYer trying to sound smart to a professional Tradesman. You shouldnt live you life by a textbook, get some real experience.
Holy fuck, using water on an electrical item, and an angle grinder with the guard removed, and used one-handed to boot. You, sir, are dancing with death!
You clearly have no experience. Using it one handed makes it easier to get a straight cut with reduces the chance of a kickback, every pro uses one hand for that reason. The water is not a problem
This is a guide how NOT to use an angle grinder. I know someone who got one an angle grinder accident, he was send to the hospital and undergo surgery to remove the diamond cutter fragments in his abdomen, chest and shoulder. He did survive but he always put on the disc guard on after that.
I believe they are less than a $100 at home depot...yes I only used to cut small portions of concrete...for bigger jobs I hire a commercial company, which obviously has more specialized and better equipment.
The most dangerous power tool around with a diamond blade and the operator removes the safety guard. Knowing the horrific wounds these tools can cause, only a fool would remove the guard.
They come with a guard knowing you would remove it. Therefore relinquishing them from any liability from your limited intelligence and lack of common sense using a power tool
Welp, my hope for humankind was boosted after seeing some of the comments. I thought this was going to be a "Darwin Award" entry as I watched. But he made it.
The guard restricts access of the blade to the concrete to be cut...I would never do the this with a saw designed to cut wood...good way to lose a finger...with a blade designed to cut concrete risk of kick back is minimal...risk of injury is a mild abrasion, not the loss of a finger...
It's amazing all of the "professionals" on here that are commenting on the removal of the guard, how he isn't holding the grinder correctly, how he's "dancing with death", etc. If you are that much of a professional why are you watching this "amateur" cut some brick and mortar? Every angle grinder I have doesn't have a guard, if you have enough experience using an angle grinder you would know that the guard is very limiting, and what he is doing with the grinder is not that dangerous. You can run a diamond blade on your hand and it will only burn you. C'mon people stop being such a bunch of sissies! LOL
finally a rational comment about this video clip...a diamond blade designed to cut concrete does not pose the same risk as a blades designed to cut wood...I would never remove a guard from a saw that cuts wood...good way to lose a finger...here the risk of losing a finger or electrocution is nonexistent...
What an idiotic argument. If you're dumb enough to remove the guard, it becomes a matter of WHEN you will get injured, not IF you get injured. People use these same arguments with Table saws and other wood working tools only to end up in the ER having their fingers sown back on after 30 years of working like this. There are a few instances where a guard needs to be removed, and this was not one of them. The way he is using the tool and the grip he had on it would almost ensure that he loses his thumb if the blade were to bind up and throw the tool back towards him.
Remove guard. spill water on electric tool, no gloves, no grinder handle. A perfect example of what not to do with a grinder. You are a walking safety hazard !
You clearly are not in the trades 😂 you dont know what youre talking about, youre just repeating what youve read on the internet. Never wear gloves near a spinning blade, diamond blades dont cut you. You wont get electrocuted from a bit of water, you dont need a handle (you have less control). Get some experiemce before you comment
wow... I hope nobody is even attempting to perform such task, I hope you are not trying to hurt people on purpose! this is the problem when just about anybody can post DIY projects, there should be a way to control uploads to only professionals to upload videos on working with power tools

safety of the year!
Looks like a clip from Final Destination...
😂🤣😂🤣😂👍🏻👍🏻
What kind of blade ?
Diamond ? Concrete?
Doing what you can with what you have. I like it!
Did you remove the guard or it didn't come with a guard?
I removed the guard...since the amount of water I was applying to the concrete was very small, the risk of electrical shock was negligible...
Wear glove
I removed the guard...I would not do this with a blade designed for cutting wood..
Holy fuck, using water on an electrical item, and an angle grinder with the guard removed, and used one-handed to boot. You, sir, are dancing with death!
Not to mention not wearing good old square steel toe with saddle cowboy boots, Texas style.
You clearly have no experience. Using it one handed makes it easier to get a straight cut with reduces the chance of a kickback, every pro uses one hand for that reason. The water is not a problem
I would not use water and electric power tool together. If the water gets in the electrical parts it will short and also danger of electric shock
I've had a disc blow up before please use a guard
That's a solid steel disc with diamond abrasive glued to the edge. It's not going to blow up.
Not a diamond blade

Metal blades don't shatter. Don't believe everything you hear, kid.
@@hallowedbethygame2840 I actually met the guy who got an accident with it. He showed me his scars.
@@maverickMVK it wouldnt have been a diamond blade it wouldve been an abrasive metal cutting disc
I'll bet if you check the package that that blade came in it specifies not to be used with water lol.
How much was the grinder and are you using it for diy home projects only
Dewalt grinder will set you back 80-120
I believe they are less than a $100 at home depot...yes I only used to cut small portions of concrete...for bigger jobs I hire a commercial company, which obviously has more specialized and better equipment.
What blade did you use?
The brand is called Avanti..I get them at Home Depot...4.5 inch size...I removed the housing on the angle grinder to get better cutting access...
The question was very clear which type of blade did you use...???
I think its called dimond blade
No gloves? Hopefully you have googles on, and a filter mask for any dust not brought down by the water.
Here's a very good safety video for using a grinder: ruclips.net/video/oJRSkBSb5S8/видео.html
Never wear glives near a spinning blade, they get caught
The most dangerous power tool around with a diamond blade and the operator removes the safety guard. Knowing the horrific wounds these tools can cause, only a fool would remove the guard.
Agreed. That guard would undoubtedly HELP prevent a lot of injuries if only people kept them fitted to their grinders instead of removing them!
Its a diamond blade, they dont cut you like a metal cutting blade would 🤦♂️
They come with a guard knowing you would remove it. Therefore relinquishing them from any liability from your limited intelligence and lack of common sense using a power tool
Angle grinder is a great tool for removing your hands. :-O
Angle grinder is good tool, but it is also dangerous.
nice
I wish someone would show the damn blade
It looks like a regular diamond blade. They are available on Amazon and any home renovation store. Just make sure the size matches your grinder.
Welp, my hope for humankind was boosted after seeing some of the comments. I thought this was going to be a "Darwin Award" entry as I watched. But he made it.
No lo hagan, es peligroso esta forma.
The trolls are bad this year
Where are your gloves, why are you not using a guard? Safety first.
