Anyway, I think this set is pretty cool. It has some amazing cards, like the Hydreigon and the Ceruledge, but I’ll not say that it is better than 151, and even Stellar Crown (I’m Zeraora biased). Overall, I think the prices are going to be quite high and this Hydreigon will be BIG.

I agree -- the Latias and Latios had me hooked, but everything else-- the Pikachu, Milotic, Ceruledge, Mesprit, has all been a mountain of cherries and icing on top. I'm hyped for this set and will be aiming to master it. This coming from someone who rejoined the hobby with Obsidian Flames and 151.
Paldean Fates is the best set from SV in my opinion all the baby shinies have been making it hard to complete the set but they are all so nice it’s going to worth it when it’s complete

The only set I’ve bought from SV is Paldean Fates and before that it was Brilliant Stars/Evolving Skies in SS. Surging Sparks looks good I bought a box a while ago.
Though I still think 151 will still be better cause of the nostalgia value I do agree that this set has potential. The SIRs are gorgeous, really loving the bold colors. The feebas seemingly looking up towards milotic is 👌
151 will be the best scarlet and violet set ever and it's obvious why - you feel the need to complete the set because of the pokemon featured and the amazing illustrations. No other set will give you that urge and I don't think Surging Sparks will change that

I really like the Pikachu cards, and other cards as well. If I don’t pull it in the first ETB. I’ll just buy it the singles I want. Then just open packs here and there. I like having cards on display like art pieces.
This set is riding a lot of hype in my opinion so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Still think 151 has 2024 in the bag, especially if no restock/reprint for Chrtistmas.
The abilities of both the terrestrialized Flygon and Hydreigon ex cards are actually pretty good; same with their evos. I wonder if that will make them some of the more pricey EXs.

i think playability will also be a factor for Latias and Pikachu. They're both quite strong so I expect them to be the two most expensive cards in the set.
I’m still back and forth whether I want to even go after this set… the promo is obviously a W especially from Pokémon center but I’m so convinced that I should focus on completing my TF and SC set and just wait on the rumored rocket set coming. Would love that Latias and latios. Also the lake trio card is massively under rated but I would trade literally any of them for the Groudon from paradox rift. Such a sleeper and growing constantly. The rainbow borders looks so much better than just making the full card a rainbow. It complements the art so much better.
