    The only reason they're talking about baseball is because it's the Yankees and the Mets, who are both New York teams. Stephen A only ever talks baseball when it's about the Yankees because they're his team. First Take still leans mostly towards the NFL and NBA.

      The Empire State Propaganda Network drones on and on about New York teams all of the time without much merit because A: Local ratings, and B: They're regional HOMERS.
      Think about it... they go on and on every preseason about the Jets; a team that hasn't even BEEN to a Super Bowl in over 50-years less won one. Same with the Giants, although they have at least had more success. The Knicks... 🤣 Same as the Jets. And the Mets haven't won a WS since '86, and they get all SORTS of attention. And this Yankees team isn't that great, really. They're top-heavy with home run hitters. And when the home runs stop, so does their winning. Plus they have bad team chemistry.
      They then win two games in a row and ESPN loses their sh!t over it? The first game they won in that "streak" they called it 🤣 came after losing three in a row to a division rival (Blue Jays) AT HOME. But of COURSE they leave out context. And sure, they beat Scherzer... because of errors, mainly. But again, DO NOT ADD CONTEXT, or you will upset the baby! 🤣

    The problem is Stephan A is a casual baseball fan. Taijuan Walker is a good starter for the Mets. Those games weren't blowouts and its not like the Frankie Montas isn't a potential ace for the Yankees. Did Scherzer not pitch the first game?? It's a stupid take. If the mets and yankees match up in the fall classic, the mets have a better chance to take the series in 5-6 games. The yankees have been a team that is used to winning big time and the mets, despite this season, havent been a winning team like the other team in the big city. As an astros fan, last year i was very optimistic about taking the series but deep down i knew atlanta would beat us because we were used to the big stage and the young, hungry braves were there for the first time, that team knew they had to step up and did just that. Same goes for the mets this year, this team can win but if they are put in a 7 game series to win it all, they will.

    DeGrom didn’t pitch that game most likely for two reasons:
    1) Buck said he wanted to space out his two aces a little bit to add more longevity to the rotation rather than having the top 3 in the rotation and then two big question marks with carasco out and walker at the time (and still a little bit now) being a question mark.
    2) They are being very very careful with Jake bc of what Stephen said about in terms of injuries. Their odds of going farther in the playoffs increase drastically if they have a healthy Jake.
    I understand what he’s saying about the spectacle but at the end of the day it’s just one game. Bringing Citi field its first WS title isn’t. Not to mention if it is a subway series WS that’ll be a whole different level in terms of the yanks-Mets spectacle.

    As a Yankee hating Mets fan, Yes!!....BUT we're still the Mets, I'm smart enough not to lose sight of that. It's all about closing pitching. And the ghost of Armondo Benitez still haunts the Mets. Familiá blew us the series against the Royals. Someone will blow it this year too.

    Mets don't care about the head to head with the Yankees, Mets needed to split the rotation so the bullpen is lined up better for usage against NL teams like the Dodgers series coming up in NY in a few days. Bet that series will have a larger national pull than the subway series because it has home field advantage on the line which is MASSIVE when you consider the away team will have to travel from coast to coast.

  • @CrazyRandomJason101
    @CrazyRandomJason101 Год назад

    rotations in baseball are made for a reason, 100+ pitches at 95mph+ isn’t normal. pitchers need proper training and rest. if a pitcher needs extra rest he needs the extra rest. this isnt basketball that you can play through soreness. i don’t care if it’s the most important game of the season if a pitcher isn’t 100% or is coming back from an injury and building his way up he should not be on the mound. degrom is a generational talent the best pitcher in baseball, you don’t want him re injuring himself “for entertainment” the game itself is the entertainment. cole didn’t pitch against the mets because he just simply didn’t fall into the schedule. the team’s rotation made him miss the mets games they were only 2 two game series (4 games) eventually one pitcher was going to get left out this time it was cole. it happens. i love first take but every time they talk any type of baseball it’s none sense, they need to stick to other sports leave baseball to mlb network or something else on the espn channel

    The theater is in October Stephen A. So Steph Curry should have played through the ligament injury in that game against Boston because that would have been the match of the NBA final in the regular season? There is 162 games in the regular season for baseball. There is theater every day if you pay attention so get a grip Stephen A.

    Here is the thing. Buck didn't treat the Yankees like they were special from any other team. He put Joely Rodriguez in a tie game in the 7th. I think Buck is more concerned with the Braves right now than some crosstown rivalry so it makes no difference if it's the Yankees or the Rockies.

      I disagree because the Yankees do have the easier road the NL is alot tougher than the AL. The Mets lost 3 out of 4 to the Braves the following week and only lead by 2 games in the East so they havent even secured the Division yet. The Dodgers will be a tough out especially with the best record.
