    • @flameshoter6
      @flameshoter6 3 года назад +2

      This tip isn't entirely useful. Once it is clouded, it is best to just use a restoration kit. The spray he uses won't do anything but lock in that yellow tint otherwise.
      You are more likely to get a used car that already has some fading by the time you are able to drive. Stores like Walmart have headlight restoration kits that cost less than $20. The kit removes a lot of the cloudiness and then a spray provides a protective barrier. Or some people go to the extreme by using certain grains of sandpaper then putting on a protective coating that will last longer.
      If you get a brand new car, it will take a several years before they begin looking cloudy. You can prevent the yellow tint from forming by avoiding sunlight. Such as leaving it in a garage or putting on a cover.

      As a mechanic, he should know better. All you have to do is have the lenses clear coated with a two-part clear coat. It has to be clear and a hardener or it won't work. Then it'll last the life of the car and you won't have to do it 3-4 times a year. And if you're worried they might fade (like if you live further south), THEN you can coat them with an extra layer of "something" like what he uses here, but you don't have to.
