Best luck to Pamela Anderson and The last Showgirl, I watched it and she did the best performance this year next to Demi.

I hope I'm able to see it before the oscars. Especially if she gets in.

I enjoyed The Substance and am rooting for Moore, but honestly I'd rank Barbaro and Curtis over Qualley too. She's not doing a lot acting wise. Feel bad for Felicity Jones however.

I'm looking forward to finally seeing the last showgirl to see what's up with the performance hype.

I’m worried that Sing Sing is out for best picture, right now I have A Real Pain taking its place, I honestly think Sing Sing might go into Oscar’s night with only a Lead Actor nom

It feels that way. A real pain has at least 2 guaranteed nominations. BP should be easier. But there have been a handful of BP and actor only nominations in recent years

My predicted Best Picture Oscar nominees:
    All We Imagine As Light
    Anora
    The Brutalist
    A Complete Unknown
    Conclave
    Dune: Part Two
    Emilia Perez
    Nickel Boys
    The Substance
    Wicked

Considering how in Flux those last couple slots are, I wouldn't be shocked at an All We Imagine as Light surprise.

I am wondering with The Brutalist missing SAG ensemble, Emilia Perez might be heading for Best Picture at the Oscars and maybe Gascon for actress and screenplay too?

    • @ConvictedCinephile

I didn't really expect Brutalist to get ensemble, but I definitely thought Guy Pierce and / or Felicity Jones would get in. I can't imagine EP getting more than Song, Saldana, and international.

@@ConvictedCinephile - I can't believe EP can win screenplay at the Oscars (it would need that to win best picture without director).
But all of the last three SAG ensemble winners - Coda, EEAO, Oppenheimer - have all gone on to win Best Picture.
However, Shape of Water, Green Book and Nomadland won Best Picture without a SAG ensemble nomination.
It's just that I find it hard to believe the Academy will go epic old-fashioned prestige movie two years in a row after Oppenheimer.
Emilia Perez, like it or loathe it, has the diversity (Coda, Green Book, Shape of Water, Moonlight) and the originality (Parasite, EEAO) - two powerful indicators of a modern Best Picture.

You're not wrong there. I just can't imagine it winning for writing or directing and still winning best picture. It's no Chicago lol
