Probably the greatest SCREAM in rock history at 3:07!
Kudos to Bryan Adams for giving this to Joe as his last big chart hit. It is CRIMINAL that Joe Cocker is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Whoa, I didn't even realize that about Joe Cocker not being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! That IS shocking!!
Bryan Adams wrote this?
Joe Cocker
@@johndrake2729 wrote and play the guitar ;)
@@johndrake2729 He wrote this one (is in the video above too) and Feels like Forever too
This is one of those songs that I just want to hit the replay button over and over again.
Buster Burns totally agree
@@charlottebrooks3671 yeah but you do the 3 screams he does in the song?
Agreed. I also like the video with the guitar player wearing a green hat. And he bends back while he plays. And the 2 ladies are singing back up.
@@sprintbass I certainly cant.
He had a green guitar.
I worked as an usher for his show in the summer of 2012, Huey Lewis opened for him. It was a FANTASTIC performance. But what you may not know about Joe is when he lived in Carpenteria he had christmas parties that EVERYONE was invited to and he dressed up as santa claus-we in S.B. are missing you already-may you be setting up for the greatest performance in Heaven-love lisa h.
Hello Lisa how are you doing hopefully all is well with you and your family??
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏
I really miss great music like this. They don't make 'em like this no more. Great piece.

December 1989 when this song was released and it still gives me the same chills now as it did back then 25 years ago .. RIP JC
Those who saw AN INNOCENT MAN on the film's theatrical release date,October 6,1989,heard this song for the first time, being played during closing credits.
+Andy Roman i meant video Andy , my apologies
Just watch it again on cable. Forgot song was on it.
I remember when it first came out, I loved it then and I still do.
Actually hit stores in late October 1989. Was already in the top 40 by December.
This great man preformed at Woodstock and was still putting out great music right up until he passed. You can't be much better than that !
Joe Cocker
what a guitar solo!
Joe Cocker was so great. His music just had so much power, and energy.
Rest in peace Joe Cocker when the night comes it’s also one of my favorite songs, but also the song that they use for the wonder years is a good song to listen to to stay safe out there guys and ladies ✝️✝️
I find it awesome how a then 45 year old blues-tinged British rocker can sing a song that alot of people in their late twenties were conceived to. It's too bad Joe's career didn't reach these lofty heights after this song was released. I hope he's resting peacefully wherever he is.
29 years later and I still get chills from this song!! R.I.P. Joe Cocker and thank you for sharing your talent with us!
R.I.P. Joe. You will be missed.
This song has given me chills since it's release all those years ago. I love this man's music.
Rest in peace Joe you are one of a kind and one of the best
Its a shame this soulful voice was recently silenced forever. Rest in peace, Joe. I also think this is one Joe's five signature songs.
"In a world of doubt and fear
I wake at night and reach to find you near
Lost in a dream, you caught me as I fell
I want more than just a dream to tell
We're born in this world, darling,
with few days and trouble never far behind
Man and woman circle each other in a cage
A cage that's been handed down the line
Lost and running 'neath a million dead stars
Tonight let's shed our skins and slip these bars
Happy in each other's arms
Happy, baby, come the dark
Happy in each other's kiss
I'm happy in a love like this... " B. Springsteen
.
Thank You for posting this Joe Cocker classic. Will
I almost forgot how great this song is. Love that piano.
The night just got a little darker, ´cause youre not here no more.
RIP Joe.
Thanks a lot Joe for your music.
His music lives on forever
One of the Cocker's best song. Joe and Bryan great musical combination.
I have a music rule that states, "no matter how much I dislike an artist, if a certain tune strikes a chord then said artist, gets a "pass". Joe Cocker is someone who I felt was an icon solely because he was part of the history of the 60's! I never cared for his voice, or style for that matter, but this song and his voice compliment each other and it truly is one of my favorite tunes of the 90's! RIP Joe Cocker. You did the 90's a solid!
Hello Laura how are you doing hopefully all is well with you and your family??

Hold on
I'll be back for you
It won't be long
But for now there's something else
That's calling me
So take me down a lonesome road
Point me east and let me go
That suitcase weighs me down
With memories
I just want to be the one you run to
I just want to be the one you come to
I just want to be there for someone
When the night comes
Let's put all the cares behind us
And go where they'll never find us
I just want to be there beside you
When the night comes
When the night comes
Two spirits in the night
That can leave before the morning light
When there's nothing left to lose
And nothing left to fear
So meet me on the edge of town
Won't keep you waiting I'll be 'round
Then you and I
We'll just roll right out of here
I just want to be the one you run to
I just want to be the one you come to
I just want to be there for someone
When the night comes
Let's put all the cares behind us
And go where they'll never find us
I just want to be there beside you
When the night comes
When the night comes
I know there'll be a time for you and I
Just take my hand and run away
Think of all the pieces of the shattered dream
We're gonna make it out some day
We'll be coming back
Coming back to stay
When the night comes
I want to be the one you run to
When the night comes
To be the one you'd come to
I want to be the one you run to
Ooh
I just want to be the one you run to
want to be the one you come to
I just want to be there for someone
When the night comes
Let's put all the cares behind us
And go where they'll never find us
I just want to be there beside you
When the night comes
When the night comes
Ah ah when the night comes
When the night rolls down
Ah ah when the night comes
I want to be with you
Ah ah when the night comes
Oh ah when the night comes in
Ah ah oh
Ah ah when the night comes
Hello Debbie how are you doing hopefully all is well with you and your family??

Lord I miss Joe Cocker. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Absolutely love it!!! 👍❤
The voice and those sisters just absolutely amazing! Joe cocker kicks it ! This is real as it gets
2:24 and 3:08 - I guess that was why Joe Cocker was called “The Sheffield Soul Shouter”!
What a great song, almost forgot about this. As stated below, it was part of the soundtrack to the movie 'An Innocent Man' (circa 1989), starring Tom Selleck. RIP, Mr. Cocker.
2:23 he kills it !!
Yes, he does...also, 3:08-3:10...classic Joe Cocker!
In 1989 I was 20 yrs old & this was my favorite song that was being played on the radio stations.
I'm 52 yrs old now & I still love this song...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the power, soul, & emotion that Joe Cocker put into this AWESOMELY GREAT SONG!!!
Much love from Mobile Alabama.
This is the song that got me into Cocker. A true icon.
My favorite Joe Cocker song.
Mine too. My favorite song by Joe cocker.
Thank you.
mine, too!
This song was actually Written by Bryan Adams just an FYI.
@@jessejames5825 yeah it was written Brian Adams, Jim Vallance, and Diane Warren. Diane Warren was one one of biggest song writers of the 80s and 90s and she's still writing today.
There are very few songs that I think that true emotion is felt.
This is definitely one of them.
This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. ❤️❤️
Sadly this was his last hit song reaching #11 on the US Pop chart in 1989 and was nominated for Best Male Rock Vocal at the Grammy's
One the most unique and passionate voices in rock, and my favorite song of his. Godspeed, Joe...
i am listening to this song and reading these great comments about joe. a true legend. tears
To my King. I dedicate this song to you. Because this describes our current life. Some day we will run away from everything. Come back as a team to take on the world. Never again we shall part.

Drogi, mi bardzo drogi jubilacie, świętujesz dzisiaj swoje urodziny z aniołami w niebie, a nam pozostało słuchać Twoich wspaniałych, zawsze rozpoznawalnych w Twojej interpretacji piosenek !. Joe (RiP).
Almost the 1st anniversary of the great Joe Cockers passing. His peeps should celebrate his music every year at this time. Never to be forgotten. This song was my favorite back in 89.
Forgot this song existed. What a classic!!
Another classic bluesy-rock song from the pen of Bryan Adams, brought to thundering, roaring life by the incredible pipes of one Joe Cocker, who, along with M(r)s. Tina Turner, brought about the age of interpretive rock and roll singing. Let's face it; when you get down to brass tacks, rock and roll has rarely had voices better than Tina and Joe. Raspy, raw, soulful, passionate, moody, melancholy, elegiac. Joe...head east, baby boy. Head east.
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏🙏
Great song from an American icon ! From a great Tom Selleck movie: An Innocent Man!
American icon? Joe is an absolute icon but a green card doesn’t let the US claim him as their own.
Really one of his best later songs, truly capturing his powerful vocals. R.I.P. Joe. Thanks....just, thanks.
Hey Chris, When did he pass? You know why?
What's so cool about this video is that Bryan Adams appears in the video playing guitar. Bryan wrote this song and I can't help but imagine how honored and proud is was (is) that Joe recorded this classic.
The lead guitarist is awesome as well. Love this song by Joe Cocker. Listening Sept 2020. He is missed.RIP.

Aldo Nova. Easily one of the underrated guitarists EVER!
@@davidl570 it wasn't Aldo Nova but Phil Grande who passed in 2019. Though Nova is very underrated
@@billthomas9328 Okay, thanks for the correction! Must say he bore a VERY similar appearance to him. Whoops!
Don't know how Joe was able to scream like a banshee all those years and still speak in a soft spoken voice whenever I happened to hear him in an interview.
So sad.... Rest in Peace, the world has lost something GREAT.........

I remember this song was from the 1989 Tom Selleck movie "An Innocent Man". On the VHS release of it, this video was on right before the film.
R.I.P sir. Thank you for sharing your gift with us!!! We will miss you.
One of the greatest songs of 1988/89! Thank you Joe Cocker 1944-2014!!!
RIP Rocking Joe Cocker.. There will never be another one.. RIP
@3:25 Bryan Adams
My favorite Joe Cocker song. RIP Joe.
The screams came from deep in the heart as well as the elecrifying guitar solo did. The 80s had so great diversity in their music. There was so much room for new styles, new sounds and new bands and singers, but also for the great comeback of Joe Cocker and also Tina Turner.
If I had a time machine, it would be no question where I would travel.
Love the Music of Joe Cocker ♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️🎸♥️

RIP Joe.
Man...its been a long time since I heard this one....such an awesome tune...I remember back in the Early 80s...long time ago...I was at a comedy club and one of the comics was HILARIOUS...but he had a neurological disease and was in a wheel chair....he was unable to control his body movements...and he did a Joe Cocker imitation that I remember to this day...I laughed so hard...but again....just a great old song.
You put everything into your music and we will always love you for it. R.I.P. Joe, you are already so missed.

Happy birthday from Croatia Joe 🎂
Love that trademark Cocker scream that leads into the guitar solo. Great career rejuvenating tune. Played it over and over on the jukebox in the officer's mess in '89.
How the hell did I manage to watch this video a hundred times (at least it seemed that many) in college and not ever realize that was Bryan Adams on rhythm guitar?
Happy birthday from Croatia Joe
Rip Joe Cocker, great rocker, great voice, this song is one of the best rock ever.
Love this song
Mr. Joe was the Beast!! RIP
RIP. I love this track. So much balls, energy, passion, blues, rock and of course, that late 80s rock production back when rock ruled and big guitars and big voices ruled. And when is was de rigeur for rock/metal to play over the closing credits of major motion pictures (like this did).
Soul & Grace, RIP to the voice of five generations.
This song is the one which introduced JC to me at 1991... it was a sound track in a movie called an innocent man. RIP JC from Arabia..

Awesome performance by Joe Cocker, but I’ll never understand why Bryan Adams didn’t keep this one for himself.

Just so heartbroken.. a huge talent left us.. I want this kind of music back. Soul. Rock. R.I.P Joe

goodbye bro!!! a great musician!! RIP
It's difficult to believe that he's only 45 years of age here.
Never heard of Phil Grande before this song. What a guitar solo!! and how did Cocker scream like that smoking four packs a day?
Insane! Being a longtime current cigarette smoker,I never smoked 80 cigs in a 24-hour period.
Me either. Rip Phil and Joe.

Hello Kathleen how are you doing!!
Love This song ❤️💫
This was THE song of the 1989 summer...R.I.P. dear Joe....
Joe was another one of older artists to have a comeback hit in 1989. Like the previous 20+ years of his career he gives it all he's got. The female backing singers reminds me of when he did "Cry Me A River" in 1970. That man made a lot of music history.
A ton of '60s artists had commercial revivals in the '80s, Joe being one of the last, at the end of the decade. The Kinks, Aretha Franklin, the Monkees, the Beach Boys, and others had smash pop singles after not being on the Top-40 in years.
Un maestro de la música que parte de este mundo, dejando su gran herencia musical, sus versos y su inolvidable voz...Hasta siempre a un gran artista que logro aportar y transcender en el rock. Descase en paz
an awesome 80s pop song with an 80s guitar solo for an 80s movie- An Innocent Man- starring 80s icon Tom Selleck and also had David Rasche who previously starred in the 80s sitcom Sledgehammer, a title that was also an awesome song in the 80s. In short- this song is very 80s, and thats a good thing!
Joe sang with the angels, a sad loss and always misssed.
piano guitar bass drums joe's vocals and the backing vocals I don't think it could have been any better!
It's way past time, come on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Robert John Cocker should have been inducted a long time ago, put him in!!!!
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏🙏
Grande Joe Cocker e il suo inconfondibile sound !!!
