26 million listens says it all. I just spent a lovely long lazy Sunday morning having a slow breakfast, reading The Guardian and listening to your album, Everybody's Angel. It's a classic. I once got stuck on a train in London in 1991 that was stranded outside Liverpool St station due to "the wrong type of snow" on the tracks. I had this album on cassette in a walkman and it was one of the best travel delays I've ever had.
I first listened to this music when I was 16 and it was like a magic vision for my ears. I'm 49 now and I still listen to it every now and then, as well as all the other ones from her same debut album (Ancient Heart). Tanita was one of my best musical discoveries in life.

I have lots of other examples: Red Hot Chilli Peppers with Under the Bridge, Sting Englishman in New York, Elton John Nikita and many other gems. Why? Because that was the pre computer era. After 2000 it went downhill. The digital world ruined our creativity.
I was 5 years old, back in 2001 and my father came to me and said: "I want to give you this. On this tape you have Shania Twayn on one side and Tanita Tikaram on the other side. This is a gift for you." This is how I find out about Tanita Tikaram and I fell in love with her music. Everytime I hear this song I instantly start thinking about my father who is miles away from me.

I first listened to this music when I was 16 and it was like a magic vision for my ears. I'm 49 now and I still listen to it every now and then, as well as all the other ones from her same debut album (Ancient Heart). Tanita was one of my best musical discoveries in life.

I have lots of other examples: Red Hot Chilli Peppers with Under the Bridge, Sting Englishman in New York, Elton John Nikita and many other gems. Why? Because that was the pre computer era. After 2000 it went downhill. The digital world ruined our creativity.

Everytime I hear this song I instantly start thinking about my father who is miles away from me.
