    David, you need to change the name of your channel to “David, Mr Magic Hands” 😂 last night I spent three and a half hours preparing, sketching, printing references and creating a composition to record a painting of a green king fisher and roses. Then two hours of painting only to be terribly disappointed in the result 😂. A couple years ago I would have been unsettled for days. But you’ve taught me that it’s all practice!! Now, I am eager to try it again because I love the learning process! Thanks for being the best teacher a student could ask for!!! And btw wild roses have been my favorite since I use to pick them on the side of the afton stone roads we lived in as a kid!!! 🥀

      Thanks Matthew! Honestly Matthew that is the process of creation. I have those same issues. I start something and then it never seems to fully meet my expectation. It is part of the journey. Yes, practice is the key because you learn your abilities better and slowly your expectations and abilities meet each other. It will always happen though. Learn to let some of that go. It is completely normal. 😀

    It’s amazing the knowledge you packed into this one video. I’ve watched it more than once, and I keep coming back. I love when you share as many details as you can think of during the process. It’s pure gold!

    I can't thank you enough for these wonderful tutorials! You have helped me to see how to use certain techniques, as well as to keep going when I'm discouraged with a painting. I can't believe you give us so much of your time. I really appreciate all you do for us!

    I have learned a lot watching your videos. I'm used to oil, but I decided to try acrylic. And I can say that it's quite difficult, but thanks to you, I think my first acrylic canvas turned out not so bad. You are an extraordinary teacher. I'm Brazilian and you are such a calm person that I can understand you perfectly. Thanks! A big hug.

    David, I haven't paint with you for a while. But as soon as I started the feeling of calm and pleasure is back. It didn't work as good as I wanted, colors faded (acrilics!). I need to learn how to paint flowers with your videos. Thank you!

    Hallo David, ich wünsche dir ein ein gesundes und erfolgreiches Neues Jahr. 👍
    Ich schaue schon seit 3 Jahren deine Videos und bin echt begeistert. Ich habe viel von dir gelernt🎨. Am besten gefallen mir deine Blumenbilder🥰. Dieses werde ich ich auch versuchen. Die Blumen gefallen mir sehr gut. Vielleicht könntest du mal einen💐 bunten Strauß mit verschiedenen Wildblumen malen. Darüber würde ich mich sehr freuen. Einen schönen Gruß aus Germany Lilo

    Do you coat your primed canvas with anything? It seems like your paints shear easier than mine.

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  Год назад +1

      I use Heritage canvas prep. It has no vinyl in it like a lot of gessos etc.

    I am trying this painting how do I make yellow ochre as I dont have it.

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  4 месяца назад

      Yelow Oxide or Yellow Ochre are toned yellows. Take any brighter yellow you have, add a touch of Burnt Umber and then a touch of white to help make it a little more opaque. Here is a really good scan of what the color should look like. jansenartstore.com/copy-of-gha12-yellow-oxide/

    Greetings David!
    I am totally hooked since I have found your channel. You are the greatest teacher! I just started out and am learning so much from you. I do face some issues. My paints are more kinda gluey and not creamy & don't glide easily. adding extender seems to make it more transparent and lose pigment. Also if I put a color above another the base coat seems to interfere or if i try blending with my fingers it rubs off lol.

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  2 года назад +1

      Thank you Fatima. I appreciate that. Sounds like the acrylics you are using have too much vinyl. If that is the case you will have to change the techniques I use.

    Hey David I’ve been watching your videos for a few months. I want to say this is a favorite channel of mine since I found it.
    Quick question for you- Can you go over the global paints with oils once they are dry of course? I mostly paint in oils and like to do my backgrounds in acrylic but regular acrylics I can’t get the blends like I can with your paints. Thank You and happy new year.
