Dear David, I just want to thank you for all your fantastic tutorials on RUclips! You have taught me more than any teacher I have ever had! Because of you it has brought my art to a new level and has even helped me to be asked to have my first art exhibition this coming October 2024! You are a light in this world! Thank you again for everything! ( I use your paints in all my work.)
Calligraphy of the brush. Such a nice term and very true. Sometimes I get carried away and think that my brush has a mind of its own, or perhaps, a signature of its own. Great tutorial David…as usual.🇦🇺👍
When I get too busy to watch your videos, my painting tends to tighten up. Now, watching again, I feel like I can loosen up and be more natural. Great portrait, lots of character. I will try portraits soon, hopefully!
Hi David Jansen, your works of art always give me a lot of knowledge. Here, I can learn to draw actively, and learn many of your wonderful painting skills. I also like how you choose the subject of the painting, it has the old style of art from the last century.
This was very interesting. Not sure if I will try a portrait yet. Would like to see a western with an indian on a paint or appalosa. Thanks for all your work.
I'd love more classes! Thank you for being so informative! I live in NM & my paint dries so fast! Is there kind of a generic extender? I'm using a " Golden brand retarder. Any advice is appreciated!
Seen a few of your videos now where you mention photoshop filter to get the outlines for a good reference. Have you shown this process on any of your videos?
Hi Mr Jansen, I always wanted to learn how to paint beautiful flowers, would it be ok for me to print screen some of yours for me to practice ? I was looking for a painting of flowers in a vase on a table that had a table cloth that we could see the front of the table where the table cloth also falls from. I couldn't find anything. I also want to learn how to make table cloths. I tired looking on line but can't find what I am looking for. Since I am a beginner at painting flowers. I have painted landscapes but I really want to paint beautiful flowers like you. Love your videos, now that I have retired I will have time to look at more of them and learn. Thanks so much for being there. Have a great day
You can paint and screen grab anything from youtube. My other online classes, books and posts you can not unless your part of the class. Everything on youtube though you can.
Hi May, I never use oils because of the health risks. I was made extremely sick by them years ago so I switched to acrylics. I use Heritage Acrylics only. If your a beginner and want to use oils, there are lots and lots of fantasic oils artists on youtube to follow. I would stick with one of them. The techniques are very different.
David sorry for asking this question here. however i emailed you and had not heard back. i am curious about your roses and the smearing. My pain dries way to fast to "smear" . Then if i thin it or extend it just smears.
Hi Aaron, I have never received an email from you. No records on any of my accounts, even in spam. Not all acrylics are the same. Some are made to dry fast and hard while others are formulated to give you longer working times. As a paint chemist I have made both versions. Check with the manufacturer of what your using to see their suggestions to extend the drying time. I made Heritage specifically to do these techniques..
Only in online lessons. You can paint anything on youtube that you like. I sometimes post photos on the community page and always post photos for channel members.
My favorite country artist. He is missed. Love this!
Mine as well.

Forgot to ask do you sometimes use oil paints because that is what I have. And I don't think it's the same information as the paint you used .
