David, I would just like to say how relaxing n joyful I find watching n listening to you. Your love of painting n knowledge of flowers is as beautiful as the paintings you create 😁🤗💖 Thank you Beautiful Soul.
Beautiful painting! Thank you for your video instructions. Please do a less casual, more intricate purple bearded iris next time, but this was great for learning the basic structure. Thanks!
David, this is just beyond beautiful! Some paintings just reach out and touch our hearts. Thank you so much. 💕 P.S. Your dogs are so cute too. Take care. Xxx
You always make me laugh. I’m glad to hear you’ll do another beginning rose. I need it. I’m a retired accountant who is trying to find the “right brain” me. I’ve heard you say, several times, “you can do it”, so I keep trying. I very much enjoy and appreciate your videos. Thank you.
David, You are a treasure! An amazing artist and an exceptional teacher! I learn so much from listening to you. I love that you explain each step in detail like how much medium - what it does to the paint - how to push and pull - how to hold a brush - how to get different effects and on and on!! I can watch your videos over and over and learn something new each time! Thank you!!
Dave- I have watched you paint a million flowers, so many beautiful and amazing flowers. But THIS, this is absolutely stunning and dare I say possibly my favorite one!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Buenos días, que maravilloso es estar tan lejos y poder deleitarme con sus pinturas y técnicas... gracias por compartir cada video, son de gran inspiración para mi, me dan ganas de tomar pinceles y pintar... Just watched this for the second time today ..Love all the colours .. really pretty I liked the information about framing as well .very helpful .. 4 dogs (wow). Thankyou David
Wonderful... It's great to watch you paint , the way you play with the colours and do magics .. I really appreciate your sincerity as you continuously share you colour palette while painting , its been a great help I have been learning a lot Thankyou so much . Rubina Majeed .
I love the loose impressionistic look. Thank you so much for taking the time to make, edit & upload. You are a talented painter & an excellent teacher.
Hello David! I love your work in acrylic, as I am a beginner at it, teaching watercolor for decades. It certainly is easier and correctable as compared to watercolor. I look forward to more of your shows. Thanks, Bernie Dettorre
This was so much fun to watch.... For years I stayed away from painting flowers, thought they were difficult and boring, but in the last year that is all I want to paint. go figure.. lol
A wonderful lesson for a beautiful flower. I love the bright colors and all the nuances you bring to them. Thanks for being a great teacher and easy to follow, even for a beginner.
Many greetings from Hannover in Germany. A very nice painting and interesting demonstration. I wish I could learn painting in this way like you. its amazing👍👍🙋
I havn't watched this beauty yet as I am all flowered out for the moment. I am binge watching all your landscapes and I am finding them so relaxing to watch and I find them easier than flowers. I love a lot of things on Paint it Simply Utube page.
I wasn't able to watch this yesterday (Internet troubles), finally got to see rest of this. I hope to do a purple variety, and maybe I'll do a yellow. I've got both. The frame was wonderful as well! Thank you, David! PS, This could be titled "Dogs get restless" 😋
Hello Mr David, I appreciate your work, your sympathy and your way of making us learn so many techniques generously offered. Nice to add you to my favorite educators. I have a quick question about the quantities of paint you spread on your palette ... I noticed on all your videos that at the end you only use about 20-30% of the paint coming out of the tube or even for some colors less than 2%. I don't understand the purpose and what do you do with the paint that remains? I ask myself the question what will I do with what remains. Thanks again and see you very soon
I sometimes put it in containers for the next day or use it up with background for the next painting. I always put out lots of paint to begin a painting. Having to stop to put out more paint stops my creative energy. That is the way I like to do it. Easy to save extra paint.
Beautiful ❤️ One of my favourite flowers. I also love Lilac, have you done any Lilac paintings? Thank you, I really love your lessons and I'm learning a lot. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much David, I appreciate your classes so much and have enjoyed all the tutorials I've done so far. For future flowers any chance we could get a star gazer lily, maybe in a Georgia O'Keefe style?
love the dreaming dogs lol, I thought it was my dogs wining at something I took out my ear buds and it was yours lol, I guess I'll go and practice some haven't for a while, been working on rocks time to change
Hi Dave- I love watching and listening to you paint. You give me confidence that I can paint those irises too. What’s the difference between the extender and the open fluid? I know what extender does, but I thought I heard you say it thins the paint also, is that right? Is your open medium similar to Golden Glazing medium or Liquitex Matte medium that make the paint more translucent without changing the color? Thank you
I would think they are the same Mary. I don't use those mediums but usually glazing mediums don't slow the drying time of the paint and I wouldn't use a matte medium. Open medium is very different.
Beautiful painting! I love the combo of the iris and background colors. Question on the frame, do you have to cut an edge on the back for the panel to sit in or does the trim already have it? Is it just house trim or is it specifically for picture frames? I need to start making my own as purchasing is so expensive and hard to get certain sizes. Thank you so much for sharing your talent!
My pleasure 😊 Frames... they make special frame moulding that is already notched for the picture in the back. I get mine at Home Depot. House of Fara makes some. Search google for "picture frame moulding" you can find some good prices.
Puedo hacer una sugerencia? Sería fantástico que activaran los SUB-TITULOS, ya que no todo el público que admira sus obras, dominan su idioma. Gracias ojalá tomen en consideración mi sugerencia. 🌺😊🌺
Many times I use it up after a painting by practicing other things. I also do save some in small plastic containers with lids. They last for years in those. You can see them on our supplies page. Painting cups. jansenartstudio.com/index.php/supplies
FYI I didn’t buy the global colors but I did get the classic 12 colors, advanced brush set, extender and an extra white!! I can’t wait for it to arrive!!
