Just wanted to point out that the robot hitting edge of the test floor pretty hard in our tests was caused by the test wall being too low, which conflicted with the information its getting from its laser sensor which says that the room is big and there is lots of room to maneuver. I actually did build taller walls a while back but I got lazy and didnt attach them for these tests.
I have the 960 and the knocking very hard on black or furniture legs is true. The camera area does not appear to have sensor so if it cannot see, it will bang very hard onto the surface. Also you will need to prime the water tube with water as the doser pump cannot bring in the water if the tank and tubing has been left dry for a long time. Simply fully full with water, press the exit and let it drip and press the rubber cover to push the water into the doser pipe.
My 901 one of the wheels locked up and it's out of the warranty now. I was going to buy another refurbished one but decided to upgrade when I saw a Refurbished 960 on Amazon too. Paid 250 for it with a 90 day warranty. So far it seems pretty good and it is very quiet compared to to the 900 series. The first time I ran it it ran over the boots my 900 always finds but was mapping fine. I realized the camera hadn't been turned on so I ran a couple of area cleanings and it seemed to avoid the obstacles fine and noted them on the map. It does seem to clean the carpet better and picked up fluff and debris pretty well. I haven't tried the mop function yet but wanted it mostly for the camera obstacle avoidance as every time we forget to pick up small things and strings etc the 900 found them and got stuck. Hopefully it works a long time and the brushes seem to be close enough between this one and the 900 that they'll work. The filters and dust bin are different though. It also ramps up the suction power on carpet a bit which should help. Wish it had the capability to add the auto empty tower but replacement brushes and filters are still available and fairly cheap.
Can you test the obstruction detector on a bed skirt? Does this mean the vacuum won’t work under the bed anymore? Also, how well does it avoid a single lightning charger cord on carpet (like a nightstand cord on the ground)

We found that pre-wetting the mopping attachment at the beginning allows it to do a much better job. It takes quite a while before the entire pad is saturated enough to do a good job right from the start. We also add a little vinegar to the water for better cleaning. Any soap product leaves a residual in the container and eventually can cause a problem. Vinegar does not have this issue and is a very good cleaner.
