Absolute bollox, in the west of Ireland anyway, complete fantasy land, driven by male artists who had the last say on beauty, I had friends and they never won
I heard for the fist time Dancing With Tears in my Eyes and Vienna about 12 years ago, but I started listening all the Midge Ure music about 3 years ago, now is one of my favorite artists, he has an incredible voice!
I love the videos Ultravox made, this one has to be the best. The way Chris first jumps up is so him. He's sadly gone but will never be forgotten. I wish I'd known back in the 80s that we were living in the golden age of music
I can't believe I'm the first to post here! Consistently one of my top three favourite bands through the 1980s, and now finding new meaning in 1980s music.
The symbol of beauty ,purity, powerfulness and originality that no word can explain what I feel , while listenning to that wonderful music, and his lovely voice.. his terrific presence. I was in love with his music , their amazing melodies !! This song is like a treasure ! Such a perfect piece of art, in the world of music !!
Sadly the last song as a quartet. This was a stand alone single and at the time the only album you could find it on was "Ultravox, the Collection" . Bought Midge Ure's "the gift" album the following year. Hoped that they'd reform, but came back as a trio in '86 and it was missing something. Waited and hoped they'd reform again and got my wish. The quartet returned and I bought the "Brilliant " album. Sadly I think that's it now. They've earned their retirement and what a great way to earn it.
Love the parodies! ....was too young to remember this video at the time. The woman he kisses towards the end of the video, and who he then walks away with, went on to become his first wife (Annabel Giles).
yep - absolutely - and when this first aired inn 1984 we kind of already knew the intention was to spoof those big budget movies. Cool video and still enjoyable to watch now.
Thank you very much for the video, but how can I avoid the aggressive prompting in the end of the video? Because of them I can't see the ending of the clip, but also I can't just close them.
This was first pop video i taped on my vcr had its own little case that looked like a book used to look forward to TOTP felt like i was an editing Queen. My tape even had a label. We all had our own tape in my family. This brought back a happy memory.
for a later years Ultravox tune, it's certainly one of my favs from the band overall. The adventurous theming, tensing building middle section, the string/brass hits throughout the middle section add on to the tension of the middle section before the final verse
always - in every effin video that people do it in....................what's the point? It actually discourages me from watching any more...soooo counter productive - content providers take note !
This one was on a mix tape that my wife, then neighbor made for me. Magical. LOL, I can't believe the video is so cheesy being that it is from the golden age of music videos. Really good tune.
This song was a bit different to the earlier records of Ultravox, and the video was something like a complete change. What can i say? I loved both - the song itself & the fabulous video (the lil break at the beginning is gorgeous 😉) and it has still lost nothing of it's magic to me 😃👍🌈
Classic must of U-VOX,very silly here Midge and all video is REALLY AMAZING!!!I remember buy the Vynal Mix in Bologna(Italy)during my military Service, because this single wasn't in any Album!!!it brings me back lots of good memories....ty so much x sharing🎸🔝👍💯
Cool song, but it was the end of an era. (Cue melancholic music here) I'm glad the whole band was back together for a bit - what this band had was pure magic and chemistry. Despite egos and arguments, as a whole they were better together.
The obfuscation over the ending is the equivalent of advertising over "I AM YOUR FATHER!" This is possibly the greatest moment of 1980s music promo videos... what has this just happened?!?!?!
Reminds me of the end of the Band, kinda sounds like that, As great bands go it didn't have many songs really, but the one's it had were well made, Ultravox sounds to me like a cross between The Walker Brothers and Hawkwind, that guitar riff sound Midge has is pure Dave Brock
Never was a big fan of Ultravox, however, they stood the test of time. A few songs like this one stood out. And I recognize that. Change of opinion. Tho' I still think there was something missing. Thank you for posting this song.
Time for you to re-discover the brilliance of Ultravox - it's never too late... Try 'We Stand Alone', 'I remember (Death in the Afternoon)', 'Your Name (Has Slipped My Mind)', 'Lament', 'White China', 'Building', 'Passionate Reply' and 'Western Promise' for starters? Then of course, you have all those outstanding singles and 12" mixes of the singles... off you go... and join us...
How lucky to have been born in 1971...... perfect timing.
A lot of 80’s videos tell a story and this ones no different. Miss the 80’s so much.
All time great, cheers, 😀🍷🇩🇪🎉
Midge Ure is one of the most underrated singer /songwriters. He is epic . Great band ❤
The 80s were great, at the time we didn’t know how great.
I agree.
I thought the chart music in 84 was great at the time
You are not wrong.... Great times

This video and its intense music is basically my 1980’s in about 3 minutes.
Midge and Annabelle such a beautiful couple. Great times, great music and that kiss. So sad to hear the news only today.
Not seen this for years, the stopping for a breather in a music video brilliantly kept in the cut.
I just can’t get enough of this song
Ultravox are the best Midge Ure is a great guy I love the pause for Midge Ure to catch his breath
Ultravox
Rest In Peace, Annabel Giles. Gone too soon... 😢
I love the videos Ultravox made, this one has to be the best. The way Chris first jumps up is so him. He's sadly gone but will never be forgotten. I wish I'd known back in the 80s that we were living in the golden age of music
Featuring the gorgeous Annabel Giles RIP
Sorry to hear of Annabel’s passing, she was a lovely lady.
I can't believe I'm the first to post here! Consistently one of my top three favourite bands through the 1980s, and now finding new meaning in 1980s music.
Very different from the serious Ultravox of the past but really fun. They must have had a blast making this video I hope.
I forgot how good Ultravox were, I was a fan years ago and I love them again 😄
Ultravox
So much positive energy in that song.. love to listen when I need to fight for sth

My favourite Ultravox track and have this on 7’ vinyl with its storybook lyric. Excellent concert in Belfast last night Midge!
The video is meant to be silly, it's a parody of the adventure movie fad of the 1980s - Raiders of the Lost Ark, Romancing the Stone, Firewalker, etc
The Scots can be playful and funny.
yep - absolutely - and when this first aired inn 1984 we kind of already knew the intention was to spoof those big budget movies. Cool video and still enjoyable to watch now.
I can tell.
1:28 Reverend Billy Currie to the rescue.
Thank you very much for the video, but how can I avoid the aggressive prompting in the end of the video? Because of them I can't see the ending of the clip, but also I can't just close them.
They could have put that stuff up the moment the song finished and extended the video a few seconds to show it instead.
I miss this time.

Brilliant. Full of power and energy. I love this song. The essence of the 80's.
This is a really clever song. The lyrics are excellent and fit brilliant. Driving beat throughout-fantastic...and the video is one of the very best.
These were the greatest times and best of times❤
Looks like Michael Douglas in Jewel of the Nile. Love ya, Midge.
In the 80s music videos were like mini movies
Absolutely, so different now as it seems to be all about the artist dancing in the videos and ones that have no real sense.
Looks like they had so much fun filming this pop video 👏
Is anyone else annoyed by the video links popping up at the end, obscuring large chunks of video?
Yes, and because of them I'm not able to see the end of the video properly! }:-(
always - in every effin video that people do it in....................what's the point? It actually discourages me from watching any more...soooo counter productive - content providers take note !
Not as bad as Netflix lol

It has that "knightmare" uk kids 80s theme some how!!
I always thought that 😮
The lady in the video Annabelle Giles was Midges first wife.
She was a stunner

Glad to know I’m not the only one! A pretty good song to name an episode after, I’d say
Times were great..but only in my room as I advanced on my bed with an imaginary microphone....standing the test of time loves great adventure ,!

This is a cute video. I love how it's Indiana Jones themed. 💕💞
Good feel good song, exposing all the frailties of the group.good memories tho,it's a thumbs up for me 👍🏿
one of my preferite in the 80 s
My all-time favourite Ultravox song!
To jest świetne !

Looking back, this song would've complimented the original "Neverending Story" very well. They both came out about the same time in 1984.
Fantastic
love it midge ure ye"re one of the greatest ever kind regards from berlin ha ho he
I didn't know Midge's 1st wife was in this video. May she R.I.P. She was one lovely, funny lady.
