been playing this 800 every day since early winter, when it arrived. it's great. compact, loud, articulate, excellent bottom, clean chordal & soloing highs. pushes 2 15" cabs with ease. price is excellent for what you get.
I didn't see or hear any mention of any overdrive capabilities. Does it over drive if the input is pushed or maxed and the master kept at the level you need for the gig/room?
This will be perfect for a super compact ,lightweight rig for gigging paired with my portable bag end cab15" with a new eminence CA 154 which is a 4ohm 600 watt speaker BTW
You mention "in the bedroom" but could this amp actually sound good at super low volume to use as an at home practice amp? I thought that amps used at super low volumes don't give good tone so its best to not get a powerful amp for home use. What do you think?
It's interesting that you noticed that. You have a good eye. When I first started playing upright about 10 years ago that was definitely an issue. Although I still have a slouching stance when I play, I've since made Minor Adjustments to the way I distribute my weight in my I don't have any problems anymore.
Sounds killer. It seems to have most of the controls on the Harley Benton DI Expander as well. Should I then take this sound as the sound coming out of that DI pedal? Could you review the DI Expander as well? There are very few reviews on that pedal on RUclips, but for the features and price...seems like a winner!!
tough to say. Both the Harley Benton DI Expander and Block 800B seem to be from the same OEM (Eleca), but since the controls are different, there's no saying what else might differ between the two preamp sections unless someone opens them up and draws us some schematics
Looking at the photos on Thomann, it has a standard iec plug on the back and says "100-240V,~50-60Hz", so all you would need is an iec cable with the correct north american plug to use this amp.
A tech who took it apart and checked the specs with the manufacturer of the power amp says its no more than 700 watts and that is for a certain amount of time with cooling fans running. Probably no different than most of the other 700-800 watt amps that can only generate that power at 4 ohms. Me I still drag an old rack unit along with 825 watts of QSC Solid State power amp with an Ampeg SVP preamp. That thing might die 50 years from now.
Can’t find these for sale ANYWHERE... Amazon & EBay don’t have them, neither do Guitar Center or Musicians friend... Where would you find them to purchase???
Can honestly say that I'm still sceptical of HB products after the years of "display" items because production was so poor. Seems a great little amp but 800W may be a little too much? I'd be quite happy with a 100/200/300 version with a good sound. With PA's these days, we don't need the volume as once was needed.
Grow short, well dressed nails-similar like being guitarist classical...then you can getting transient attack of 'pick' while maintaining integrity of fingers.👍
@@TheBassChannel sounds like a home practice/recording head then. Might not be rugged enough for heavy gigging. I'll have to see how much shipping to Michigan would add to the price. Seems similar to a Hartke

Nice to see that the one you got works.
Josh's right hand technique always blows me away how clean but aggressive it is.
Looks and sounds like a winner so far!

Damn JohnnyBoy need to put your endpin up some. You gonna give yourself back problems.

R O T U N D Bois Bass Channel. Love you guys.
Aloha guys, I have only two questions. Is it loud enough? I mean for 800w? And Is it realy 800W RMS?
How do you power this amp in America? Do you need an adapter like it says on the website?
Wondering the same thing. Hoping to find that out as well.

What was that red fender that Josh Dubois played?
What ever became of the hardly Benton 8×10 can? I remember seeing that it was scheduled for release, but never heard anything about it after that?!?!?

Thomann only. Harley Benton is their in-house brand
A GOOD sounding amp esp for Class D power! Good value it seems! I liked the very responsive EQ stage!
Josh and those Wicks!!!!!! yaaaaaasssssssss
HELL YEAH!! This was dope!
Is it noisy?
Those Warwicks sound so good through that head!! 1:45 and 3:39 👍🏽😎
So cool ,awesome guys !

A lower watt version is available already
Headroom is the thing with bass. Guitar, I don't need more than 50watts rms ever. Bass, I want clean headroom.
Hell of a job, this is going to blow up!! Hi from MegaSound!
Can you guys do a Harley Benton bass demo? Preferably the PBass and JBass
Good job Nick well done.
Thanks Ruben! Hope you are well!
Wow this sounds good!
More sound samples with pick.....please 🙏

@@joycesanders4898 or you could just use a pick
All basses looks small in the hands of Josh 👌😂
Are you guys in a music store? Or do you guys just own all that gear?
A bit of both.
Hard to beat that price...what's the build quality?
Chassis is solid, but the buttons feel a bit flimsy. To be expected, I suppose.

Wait, are you guys from Ventura?
Originally, yes. 3/4 are still in Ventura.
looks like Quilter Bass Block 800 but only 1/3 of the price.. Damn. Probably still go with the Quilter...
🔥🔥🔥
Can anyone tell me, what's the power rating for 8ohms?
I assume 400.
Looks like the Fender Rumble 800
Is this some kind of Quilter knockoff?
..maybe..maybe is just the way of 21st century amp design heading?...
2:21 Jayme Lewis
SWR at the live gig.
Adorei 🙋🙋🙋
the price is so low you would be stupid not to buy one. WOW
It's Harley Benton... They've probably paid people to say nice things
Well, if you’re right, we’re still waiting for the check.
I guess the brand that pays the most to say nice things is Fender actually 😂
Less credibility for wearing his hat the WRONG way!
Nah bruh.
@@BoomstickNick88 LOL! I didn't mean you Nick, I meant the other blues guitarist dude!
Wtf
FAKE TEST
At no point did we try to say he was using the amp at the gig. We’re simply just reamping his performance from that gig through the amp.
@@TheBassChannel sorry for the late comment but is this amphead good for heavy gigging ?
Too cheap must be a waste of money
