Eric sings with so much passion! I love his raspy bluesy voice!
I love him!!
I'm always a fan of Burdon, but Price's speed and precision on that Vox Super Continental is just fantastic here.
I saw this tour in Austin, I remember thinking that Eric Burdon didn't need a mic -- that his voice could reach the back row just fine without one.
nice..and i seen him out in the street, out doors in the hot sun in scituate mass.and verily this was true! street.. hot... I was outside the bar standind on a tall log, Heineken in one hand, stoli in the other ganja in my pocket- and verily ALL was right with the world at that time.
Oh yeah, his voice could surely have reached everyone in the smallish place where I saw them (Aug 20 1983, Dallas Texas at the Bronco Bowl). It was a great show, and I really liked EB's improvisation and general stage presence. There was however a PA problem and we could barely hear the guitar right at the start of House of the Rising Sun. Great show though, my expectations were high and the show was even better than I had expected. Not a dull song or moment.
Vc tem uma sensibilidade que poucas pessoas tem de reconhecer o potencial de um cantor.
I was born 1983 😂 ❤and I am so in love with this song!
What a voice! Never get tired of Eric’s singing!
I've been obsessed with this live version for years
He’s an artist. He can sing it anyway he wants to. We can either watch or not watch. I choose to watch.
Well said, most bands from this era, sang a much longer version then their studio version when they were live, proper musicians. The Sones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Stevie Winwood and so on extend their 3 minute versions they had to do at the time. I think people forget, or don't know, that for the radio the maximum length a song could be was 3 minutes or it wouldn't be played
People can also choose to have opinions about how he sings it, positive *and* negative, and that is absolutely okay.
Personally, I don't like this rendition very much. Too many attempts at improvisation that miss the mark. Like a slightly too inebriated uncle at karaoke night.
The one he gave on WDR in Germany, April 21, 1976, though; pure musical magic. Gives me goosebumps. If I could show anyone a single live performance of House of the Rising Sun, that would be the one.
His voice is awesome and the organ solo is amazing! This song needs to be different every single time they perform.
Alan Price, holy shit. He doesn´t even have to look at the keys. Great talent thats for sure.
he fuckin kills it! I love Eric Burdon
As in killed the song? I agree
Please folks, it was 19 years later. If you want it the same, stay home and buy the record. This song is a story and has to be told according to how one is feeling.
Да,именно так.
Agreed! He still sounded great after 19 years.
This 1964 version was recently published and it’s the closest to the studio version for the folks complaining: ruclips.net/video/yxrz00XSOAo/видео.html
It will be 50 years this October 18, 2014 that The Animals made their very first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. I watched them perform on tv on October 18, 1964 when I was 16 years old. I immediately had a big crush on Eric Burdon. I can't believe it has been 50 years!!!
I remember too although I was 10 years old. But 'House of the Rising Sun' has always been my favorite song. It's the 1st song I want played at my funeral. Love it & no its doesn't seem like 50+ years....ugh!!!!
Marsune S I saw that Ed Sullivan Show in 64 also but I was only 9 years old
believe it! I and I remember the beatles from that show + what a long strange trip it's been. still trippin wheneven I can at 61. peace.
One of the greatest bands I'm thankful I grew up with them love Eric Burton and the Animal's
Nobody plays a Vox like Alan Price! His solo in this is just amazing.
I love Alan's solo!
Прайс на клавишах и голос Бёрдона-это гарантия,что будет классно!
Burdon RARELY every sang it like the record past 1966. He's a huge believer in improvisation in concert - much to the dismay of fans everywhere.
that's cool with me, it's his fuckin song + there's no better blues singer in the world.I would have stated universe but i have left to venture (goddamn drug laws) even more than plant ( the best) mr. burden is the blues, god or something bless him!
@@jameshadfield2658 technically it's Bob Dylan's song. He recorded it first
Trevor Pease , technically it’s a folk song and even before Lead Belly many singers had already recorded it.
@@TheWarlockGamma Bob Dylan was probably the 20th person to record it
@@25756881 I did not know that. Thanks for letting me know
After singing this song for 50 years, the guy should be able to sing his songs how he wants. But I do personally prefer the original versions of the 1960s. Still in love with Eric Burdon. :-)
What a nice comment :)
Eric Burdon wonderful singer!!!!!!
Das waren noch Zeiten! 😊👍 VG
I often think Eric Burdon "over improvises" during live performances, but this performance brought a chill to my spine and a tear to my eye. He makes the song his own, and personalizes it with the reference to spending his life in a rock band, perpetually on the road and living in hotel rooms.
So right, Stephen.
i can agree so much, hearing it over improvised does feel different, but Eric always keeps it good in this performance 🙂
Alan price!!
He has magic fingers, I swear! So glad he was in this reunion. Fantastic musician!
Price is one of the absolute best keyboardists of the rock era, along with Ray Manzarek and the keyboard player for the old Procol Harem group
Agreed my friends
Still LOVE YOU Eric BurdonXXX
Alan Price is great :-)
My favorite part by far is 3:26. I love how he hypes it up
i miss the old eric burdon in 1963 :(
I absolutely love his voice 💕
alan price was magnificent, as in the old days....eric always improvises on the song and it`s memorable...those introductory guitar chords by hilton valentine have been copied by every budding guitar player the world over..... songs the animals did in the 1960`s were sensational.
❤❤❤❤❤ ANIMALS❤❤❤❤❤
The song was originated in 1874, but The Animals weren't technically the only one who sang House of the Rising Sun, there was Woody Guthrie (1941), Bob Dylan (1961), Frijid Pink (1970), Santa Esmeralda (1978), and Dolly Parton (1981) *Dolly Parton version was two years before this live started*
Maravilhosa interpretação do Eric Burdon (The Animals) a canção "House of the Rising Sun". Espetacular o órgão. Espetacular a interpretação.
Muito foda.
Nice Organ-Solo! VG
Im 13 and i heard this a few months ago and instantly loved this song i sang this in karoke and every time he plays its not the same
Cut Eric some slack please. He was not young anymore in this performance and was probably exhausted from a long day of performing.
And he has every right to improvise House of The Rising Sun as he feels.
Erick and Alan price, my respec greand master’s large live forever 🎸😎
Eric said in an interview once somebody told him basically not to do a song more than once so he always does it different.
seems like a syd barrett type of tip
From a 2010 interview with Eric Burdon: Jimmy Witherspoon told him never to do the same song twice so he always puts his own spin on the old songs he recorded in the 60's. The interview is on YT.
Cen Dai Why?
mhm. it was a concept of the young floyds to jam in some parts of their songs - and syd once said that he s a very irregular head right? :D
OK.....
Shut it he's Eric fuckin Burdon he can do whatever he wants! Besides look this at his point of view... He brought his current state of mind and mood to that performance, "he felt like doing yeah yeahs so he did yeah yeahs!" If it doesnt please you then you can always keep listening to the studio version of the one of the best songs ever written
Well fuckin said man, I thought this was an outstanding fuckin version. for decades i was wondering about that line about " sewed my new blue jeans" (like why if they were new they had to be sewed) finally gave up on the agony, but if i ever see 'em.
Здоровья тебе Эрик!
Thank you super Eric!
what a great voice, I love him. Great song ever,,,, evergreen
Great concert, pretty sure this was at the Spectrum in Philly.
Eric Burton does a fine job of this ~ really belts it out ~ probably the last decent version.
Love this song very much
I LOVE THE ANIMALS IM FROM NEW ORLEANS AND IM 11 YEARS OLD
No me canso de escucharlo,Bellisima interpretacion¡¡¡¡❤
Fantastic!
I prefer the way the song is played in the 60s wayyyyyy more. But i appreciate his reasons for changing it up a bit
Легенда ..
С новым годом вас 2020
Brilliant...
Great version!!
Banda sensacional e vocal espetacular de Eric Burdon. Show maravilhoso, talvez a melhor interpretação ao vivo de House of the Rising Sun.
Still!
Love the voice
Mr Keyboard is amazing...always
Creo, en mi humilde opinión que esta canción no sería tan magistral sin el acompañamiento de Alan Price. Inolvidable banda... Qué maravillosos tiempos, los que vivimos.
Love it when he says ''I'm gannin' back te New Orleans'' haha, true Geordie!
wow, the song was deep for him
Love love ERIC...
If you want to listen to a singer sing exactly like the record, listen to the bloody record.
I agree, but I would be remiss if I didn't say, that Eric can be really annoying when he improvises. Look at some of his other live stuff and you'll see what I mean.
This is a shit version and he missed virtually every cue.
I just with the oldies were still sung the old way, like the one who made the answer is blowing in the wind...
