She likely does retain some creative input and ownership (partial ownership in terms of shares, etc.) but the KVD brand/company is ran and owned primarily by the company that owns Sephora so she doesn’t have ultimate control. I’m pretty sure they don’t use her image or name in marketing or design mostly because of her previous scandals.

Totally agree, that kind of camera make up usually doesn't really translate into real life, it just never looks right when I see it in person. I think the same goes with the heavy Instagram / camera contouring, that just doesn't work from all angles, at least I've never seen it work
