Having just gone through the installation process, I 100% concur! The install was a right PIA! I installed the ridge mounts first, before attaching the six top plates; may have made life a bit easier?? Getting the nuts and washers on the tray bolts with gorilla sized hands required some creative engineering. Not happy with the design around the feet of the ridge mount, as pointed out, seems ill thought through; time will tell on water ingress. Happy with the overall quality; it is tough AF! Be careful hitting the corner brackets into place; I managed to break one of the logo trim pieces due to a misdirected thump of the fist. It’s only a cosmetic piece, so Superglue to the rescue. Now to save up for the ‘accessories’ 😳 None of the platform systems are cheap but I feel like I made the right call on the ROLA; it’s not perfect, but it’s suitable for my needs. Thanks for the videos Anthony, I didn’t see this one until after the install, but it’s good to hear that I’m not the only one finding the installation a little more challenging than it needs to be ✌️
I have the ridge mount fitted to the Prado 150. It does need better access points for the Hex bolts. The Market version is the same. I had to buy a 6mm T-Handle Hex key from Repco but was still difficult to tighten and was scraping powder coat just to get it fitted. With the Hex bolt that has no clear access point I found the best position was to access from the large cut outs from the side. I have the Darche Eclipse 270 awning and the bracket comes with two positions for height. I chose the lower and it clears the doors fine and doesn't rub the car.
Do you know if the 150 Ridge mount would fit the 120 Prado? Rola says it won’t but aren’t the channel system the same on both models? They only have a ridge mount for the 120 that suits the MKIII roof tray, and i got the MKII….

Was the height of the ridge mount lower to the roof compared to when you used the factory roof rail?
Rhino rack backbone has the same bad angle for the Allen key was the worst to fit !
Swap the quadrilateral cut outs for triangular trusses while they're at it
Does the Ridge mount rail provide a better support or is it even and just a different look?
Should be supplied with a 6mm short Allen key
Would you know if they have improved this issue with the sealing
Hey mate. Was this a Mk II or Mk III?
