    Watch a full tutorial as a 2017 Volkswagen GLI Jetta MK7 will have a Kicker 12" Subwoofer and a Kicker mom channel Amp installed. We will be using the stock CD/Radio Stereo of which will be removed to allow access to speaker outputs in order to attach a line-out converter providing signal to the amplifier without use of an aftermarket radio.
    For a better video on how to tap into the factory radio for signal for the line out converter, check this tiguan video out: • 2009 - 2015 VW Tiguan ...

    I've got a Jetta with a RCD 340 which isn't as great as the MIB 2 in terms of sound processing
    The current setup is the RCD340 With the stock 4 speaker 4 tweeters setup
    Now if I wanna upgrade my sound without changing the headunit what would you suggest?
    Should I change the speakers out for a higher output speaker and tweeter and call it a day or add an amp as well because with the stock speakers and the RCD the sound tends to distort after about 50% so do you think maybe an underseat sub+amp would help out with that ?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  5 лет назад +2

      you get what you pay for, so the nicer modules yes, especially if you go full DSP. Look into the AudioControl Brand as they have good options for quality sound processors and line out converters.

    • @justkiddin1980
      @justkiddin1980 5 лет назад

      an aftermarket setup almost always works better because with a decent unit the rca signal will not destort...but with aftermarket headunits you need some adaptors for steeringwheel controls etc, so that means extra cost...but if you do not mind not cranking your radio to max volume a high low adaptor works great also...

    What did you end up doing with the RJ-14 bass knob cable? I see the line out converter comes with one already. Can you just use that instead of the RJ-14? My amp also has the female port for a RJ-14. Or is it neccesary to hook that up?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  6 лет назад

      Nope, not necessary, the guy wanted to use the Kicker knob instead of the scosche knob. either one will work. The difference is that the scosche raises and lowers the RCA signal line input to the amp where the Kicker knob increases and decreases the DB bass levels on the amp internals directly.

    My question is about the sound. I've not used a Line-Out converter and have always used aftermarket heads with dedicated rca's which isolate the low range signal. It's my understanding that tapping into the rear speaker wires you're going to get the high mid and lows going to your amplifier. I would like to be able to isolate the lows so my subs are just pushing bass and not high and mid-range sound. Is this possible?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio

    I have a question for you, maybe you can help or you can send me a link to show me step by step on how to do it. So, I have a VW Jetta 2014, with Fender sound system and as you know with Fender sound system it automatically comes with Amp which is located underneath driver seat. So my question is, will I be able to add 2 extra speakers to the current ones, other word I would like to add extra speakers to the existing speakers without replacing any. If so, how to add another amp to the current amp? or how to remove the current amp and install a more powerful amp?? I hope it does make sense. I would really appreciate your guidance.

      Not at all, we are just robbing the signal for the bass amp. The factory audio system will remain unchanged. Sounds like a wiring issue to me.

    • @joshuaclaar7171
      @joshuaclaar7171 4 года назад

      You need to hold the square side with a wrench. Also the stud is "staked" as to prevent the nut from coming off. That's why it's difficult to remove completely.

    Isn't there a factory amp under the driver's seat? Wouldn't it be easier to run to that instead of behind the head unit? (I'm asking because I'm doing research for a friend's car...looking into replacing the factory amp)

      All depends if you have the amplified system or not. If you do, that certainly would be a good place to grab signal, sure.

    HELP HELP, ok very short story. I tried getting signal to my amp through rear speakers( head unit) no signal, just a very silent hissy noise. then I tried the front SOCKETS (head unit) bam it worked, got a full signal but the problem is that I can't turn the volume down on the speakers that are connected to amp, it's like set to one volume. Please help what else I can do?? Is my amp faulty?? if it is then how come I only get signal from front speakers sockets and not the rear?? also why the volume doesn't go down when I turn the volume down on my head unit. Am I doing something crazy here?? what is going on? I've got the same line out convertor as yours and my amp is Pioneer a5702

    • @MasihMozayan
      @MasihMozayan 5 лет назад

      The amp is powered on and remote turn on works perfectly but my issue is the volume that coming out of amp speaker doesn't change, the only way I can do is to just change the gain manually which it's nonsense. I just want to be able to turn the volume up and down from the head unit like the rest of the speakers but it doesn't seems to work.

      The amp that your installing is just for the sub you want to install your only tapping into the two rear speakers for sound signal to the amp for the sub to output sound. So basically everything is still stock accept for the fact you now have a sub in the trunk all the box is used for is the RCAs to the amp for the sound signal to the sub.sorry i tried my best to explain it it basically your aux cable to your sub so your sub is playing the music coming from your stock head unit AKA stock radio
