@@MrChristian I found a few others but the ooni pan really looks the best. I don't think I'll use this for my pizza oven though.. never see any real compelling results. Just seems cool. Good luck if you go with it.
I have a pizza oven and cook 1 inch ny strips in 2 to 3 minutes, pulling off at 130. Oven at 800 degrees and get the cast iron skillet to 600. This is a reverse sear method, I don't think all this extra work is needed. Looks great nonetheless.
Also with a steak that thin you can cook it on the sear. No need for low n slow it will overcook. I've not seen the end of the video but I bet you got it perfect right?
You are too much fun Roel! I also think those pizza ovens look like fun. But!! I've got to say, a pizza oven grill is very limited in what it can cook. Let's face it, it's for cooking pizza and therefore will be used less and less as time goes by. On the other hand (and I'm sure you are well aware) a Kamado style grill will do anything a pizza grill can do. I've got a Kamado Joe Classic. Cooked a few pizzas on it, even got it up to 800f (426c) and cooked a Neopolitan pizza. All I had to do is spend about $40 US for a pizza stone. Works great!
Hey, you boys have come a long way with the videos and editing! Great content and fun to follow but, at the same time learning great ideas and recipes! You will be at a million subs soon! Stay safe and thank you for the good times!
Now that's funny. It's a pizza oven, but we're not making pizza. I'm sure it was wonderful, but that a lot of work. So glad your puppy is doing wonderful too.
A pizza oven is good for one, yet versatile function; providing high heat that's distributed equally from top to bottom (that is where the stone comes in). Great for quickly preparing uncooked items, a literal hell for food that was already baked.
There's some white tape around the top of front leg on your Nero that you might want to take off before it burns on. I noticed it there when you were putting it together on your other RUclips Channel Roel.
250-300 degrees celcius for a pizza? That's oven territory and normal ovens aren't particulary good at baking pizza. 550 is a way better temperature for pizza, you want it hot and fast. Check the pizza series bij Alex (French Cook) , he modified his oven to reach those pizza baking temps.
I only have 4 grills, one inferred turkey fryer and one griddle! (looking for a Kamado to add) (I do not have a problem, I'm prepared) (prepared to feed the neighborhood!) (now I need a pizza oven!) (damn it)
I have been cooking steaks directly on the stone for almost a year and a half now in our Ooni, it is soooo much better scorched directly on the stone, inch thick medium rib eye in minutes with phenomenal searing and flavour!
Love it! Got a pizza oven for Xmas and immediately thought can I cook steak in this?!. Yes! Did it today and was just epic! Used a small cast iron skillet with ribs and was the best! Btw where is the beer! 🍻 cheers from Maine
53 years young . I’ve had steak prepared about any and every way imaginable. As long as you start with a good cut and don’t over cook it ...I have to say my favorite way to prepare them is in a hot cast iron skillet with butter .
The video is interesting indeed! 😊👍🏻 as for the oven itself dunno weather is good or not, but if i was the creator of Uuni (now ooni) I d look into patent infringement.... this really looks like a copy of their sys... then again i might be mistakin...
@@derpizzadieb i think he did it because you can’t check on the steak while it’s cooking unless you take out the cast iron every time, but still he probably could have cooked it a bit less, i think he was just having fun with it lol.
@@Michael_Green5 in which case you cook it based on feel. PMX video's have gone downhill significantly in the last year. Humor feels forced/unnatural and amateur things like core temp checking on a slice this thin etc.
That was my first pizza oven, great for amateurs but I went on to buy a rather professional one after only a few months as I’ve properly learned how to make Neapolitan Pizza, which is nearly impossible in this small oven 😅 But for the small amount of money, the oven is really fun 👍🏻
I've had a ribeye roasted in a pizza oven, it was a religious experience 😎😁👍 Ed.: Even better in a larger oven, and a thicker cut of ribeye, with the bone 😉
What is the word you said before the "and keep on grilling"?
That steak was at least medium well so you can't blame Morrison for burning the bread 😂😂
What’s the brand of the cast iron skillet you use, please? The one w/ the detachable handle.
Did you find out? Ooni makes a sizzler pan that's similar
@@om1701d Thank you, I noticed that but I’m not sure if it’s the same skillet.

Would you recommend very small chunks of charcoal to maintain some heat?
Can you use lump charcoal combined with the pellets to extend the cooking times without needing to keep refilling the hopper as often?
if you want a pizza oven buy a good one like the rockbox or an ooni,
@@Young_chef_Marius what is wrong with this one? Seriously seems good to me. Why is ooni so much better?
@@davidsuransky2278 ooni sells higher quality ovens, with easier use and understanding. the ooni ovens also reach 500*c that you need to cook pizza
Lol it’s open where I live bro
The steak is so grey, it make my hair look red
yeah over cooked.. i was hoping when he said up to temp before sear it would of been at 120F, doesnt look that way
Haha that's why there's no money shot
Morrison, you're one lucky dude! And that pizza oven is awesome! As are your simple yet sumptuous dishes, Roel!👍👌😁
Can you try the Guga seaweed dry age method please. I’d like to know your thoughts
I just subbed to the other channel :D Bra jobbat grabbar!

Looks to me like it was overcooked.
Great video like always
BTW, the whole idea behind a pizza oven like that is to reach temperatures of around 450C to 500C. Not 250-300... then just use a regular oven.
Nice pizza oven, but more importantly, where did you get the awesome gray jacket/shirt?
Good plain an simple review of this oven. The steak looks over the top.Weve done smoked pork chops on our great an it took the taste to another level
Hahaha how many drinks did you guys have before shooting this video? Amazing! I want one!

Btw i tried to order the pellet smoke but unfortunally he Was sold out.
No i use my 8 year old Weber q2000 untill he break down.
Make a pizza base, add stake, and then hollandaise sauce (or mayonnaise). Awesome.
I think I'll use a thicker cut off meat and place the bread farther away from the heat source. Thanks for the ideas
Waw so the pizza oven can cook those delicious stacks, congratulations god bless you and your family and friends
wow, would be great for in a tent winter camping
How do you control the temp other than the amount of pellets? it went from hot n fast to low n slow back up to hot n fast. ???????
Good morning bud
Have a great day

That oven discolored quick. I like the steel look, but does it come in black? Love the videos dudes. Keep it up.
How long did you sear the steak each side?
I can't wait to do this in my new pizza oven! Also, the Dickie's Fort Worth hat is the HEAT!

Thanks
Oh no you over cooked it😱🥺. That's OK those veggies looked super yummy. Keep on grillin!

I think I need a pizza oven now. A wonderful addition to my outdoor cooking machinery.
Nice video and very informative and very entertaining and very satisfaction more videos.
show a video on cooking bread in a pizza oven like this.
make a classic reuben sandwich en marinade it 5 days in the fridge en than smoke it on the bbq 🤤

Rocky Mountain oysters anyone?
Could have sworn I saw this two days ago. Also funny how you're both in the same clothes as the last video. Shoot two in a day?

Jeez! That's the second time Morrison burned the bread this week! Prutser! 😁

Why would you make pizza when you can do steak? 😁
Can you elaborate? Why is this not sufficient?
My Cajun grandma screamed at you when we saw you put tomatoes in your black iron skillet. Lol

Holy shit that steak is overcooked!

The dog stole the show. When is his own vid coming out ;P
I'm pretty content with just the mushrooms. Damn they look guud!
The steak is overcooked and Bread is burnt....
Always the pitmasters fault! 😇
Mayby you should have had a plan b😉

On-line?
Damn that looks good!
I use the website. BBQ sauce and rub stuff :-)
I think u had mistakenly uploaded it previously..🤔😅
Hmmm......bread in an oven to warm up.....SQUUUUUIIIIRRRRELLL! It’s burnt. I feel your pain Morrison.....😞
Ace Macalick??
The great Pyrenees made the video great!
Anyone that knows their Roman history understands why that little pizza oven is called NERO. Did it come with a fiddle?
I vote yes
