What a feeling it must be, you write those songs in a state of desperation and grief, you grasp the last bit of hope that is inside you and you put it in those songs. And after a while a whole arena with thousands of people sings along. Incredible. He made his loved ones unforgettable forever.
Thank you for reacting to one of my absolute fav songs. The video stopped to early the crowd didn`t stop, they started making the wave for him for several minutes and then he sat at the end of the stage walkway and could only shake his head! There is another beautiful version of the song in which he sings the song in a duet with Jose Carreras, one of the famous 3 tenors, mixed in German and Spanish.
Grönemeyer was not only a musican he was also an artist he played in the Film "Das Boot" 1981 from Wolfgang Peterson this film was nominated for an oscar,.
As a lot of people before me mentioned, the longer Video with the looooong reaction of the audience is much better, anyway I enjoyed your reaction very much. This is a song about how to get back to life after such a long period of grief. But it is hard, so hard - 'cause "it' s you I am missing" 😢 Looking forward to your next reaction. Love from Germany ❤
I will definitely check out that video on my own a bit later. The energy in the crowd was simply amazing. Thanks so much for watching. Greetings from Belgium.
Your reaction is actually so beautiful, you seem so interested and reflected about the lyrics. Thinking about how we kinda drift apart as humans and often forget that we're all in the same boat and face similar struggles... this reaction gives me a weird feeling of warmth and happiness :) Thank you
We definitely have much more in common than We would think sometimes. We do often forget like you say. And its important to remember. Thanks for being here! Have a wonderful day.
Wow, fantastic reaction! I'm happy you take the time to look at the lyrics in great detail and prepare a proper translation :) I grew up with this song, I remember when Mensch came out when I was a child. Today I've heard him sing it live, and a crowd of humans singing about what makes us human... chills man
Hi Saeed, well done. there is a song from another band you discovered recently dealing with the same topic: "Happiness is the road" from Marillion. Also great lyrics, as always with these guys.... Maybe you listen to it and share it! Search for the live version from their convention. Sending hugs, M.
One of his most powerful songs. Even though its his greatest hit ever it is really earning that number one spot. Its one of the songs that seems to have been around forever.
You watched the wrong video, there is another one of the same concert, that has subtitles and it's about 3 minutes longer as the crowd makes the laola (Mexican wave) it's just nuts😍😁 And pretty much all his concerts are like this He is probably one of the most loved artists in the German speaking areas and absolutely owned ❤️
I'm really amazed by your analysis of the lyrics. It's so refreshing to see such commitment, especially for someone als cultural important for us Germans as Herbert Grönemeyer. Keep it up!
You are doing the best reactions on German songs because you are really interested in music and lyrics.I am sure you understand the topics much better than some US yotubers.Thank you!
not the easiest German Songwriter, but for me the best - He is not speaking words probably, but that is how he is, and what we like about him. One of our biggest stars ⭐⭐
You should be proud of him. I am from Sweden, learning German and can't stop listening to HG, he is simply one of the best ever. His lyrics might have more in common with how many Scandinavian singer/songwriters write music, because of the metaphores and melancoly.
Well in “the good old times” we Germans were known as the country of poets and thinkers. Even if we lost a lot of the quality since those times, there are rare exceptions like Herbert. I have to admit, that he is not the best singer in the world and even for Germans hard to understand from time to time - but his performances, his song writings, his ability to touch people is absolutely outstanding and remembers of that time of great poetry created by people like him
Thank you for check the really special Songs from Herbert, because he writes songs like poetry and use all of what german language had for possibilities to describe - thanks. If you like pick more songs from him - he has good view of life and the hole world, greetings from Hamburg
I find it so odd, the most successful movie with the most successful artist at the same time from the same country. How very rare. It's hard to find such a great combination.
You also should react to Männer (men) its His Most popular Song i think. He releases it 1984 but there a Videos Form the Same Tour Mensch Tour 2003 Gelsenkirchen with english subtiles. The Song is Männer
On this video you can´t see the whole reaction from the crowd but here you can see it. They went totally crazy. Absolutely incredible - ruclips.net/video/OEbMoYOpfeY/видео.html
He is one of the biggest divisive figures in Germany. He doesn't acknowledge other opinions. Thumbs down for this man. What he sings is the opposite of what he says.
@@SaeedReacts.I appreciate you not taking a stance on this without knowing the artist beyond the music. The claim that Grönemeyer is intolerant of others is, in my opinion, humbug. Grönemeyer has always been big on diversity and tolerance with others and has written songs about it, he grew up in the Ruhr area and became known there as a musician, which was shaped by the mining industry and was already a melting pot for many nationalities back then, and his music, lyrics and collaborations show that he remains true to this attitude to this day. He has also always been an opponent of exclusionary, especially right-wing ideologies and attitudes, which he repeatedly addresses in his songs. The fact that he rejects such "opinions" is very much in keeping with his attitude - because rejecting exclusionary views is the logical consequence of an open-minded and philanthropic attitude. And of course, thank you for the video, I also appreciate your dive into this German artist.
@@brudervomweber Thank you for your comments. I also have records by H. Grönemeyer. Even back in the vinyl days. 😉 My opinion of him changed after the Vienna concert, when he shouted in G...... style: "Not a millimeter to the right". I classify H. Grönemeyer as more left-wing, which is fine. But what must a citizen who is more conservative (in the direction of the former CDU/CSU) think? Is everything that is not left-wing really evil? That is exactly what I meant when I said that it was a divisive act. If he had shouted... "Not a millimeter for the left or right-wing radicals". I would have signed it! I hope I was able to make my point clear.

Great reaction! Herbert shows how beautiful German language can be, I think you even can tell from the English translation without knowing German.😉
Beautiful! So much emotion.

Incredible song and makes for a beautiful live show and energy with the crowd.
Music is universal.
You don't have to understand the lyrics and you still feel something.
Very true

Really liked that 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Beautiful song!
He's so full of live !!!
Stark, good one! 🙌🏽
I am German, but as it seems, I’ve never understood the whole song with the subtile meanings. So thank you for your perspective
Beautiful song and performance. Thanks for watching.
Best quote: "Es ist schon okay, es tut gleichmäßig weh" , It's all fine, it hurts evenly.
One of the lines that I will never forget in my entire life and I know it since I was a child and listened to the record of "Mensch" from my mum.
You are understand ist❤ love from germany

Hands down one of the greatest Pop Songs ever written. Germany's "Don't Look Back In Anger".
Btw. this was the song directly following "Der Weg". So the beginning is the end of the "Der Weg"-Video
❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Why is the polar bear the mantra of his tour? PROUD, STRONG, NEVER LETTING GO!
His record label is called Grönland and has got a Polar Bear as a symbol. Yes it is a play on Grönemeyer name I guess!
