The protagonist single handedly destroyed the eco system. And that's absolutely horrible. BUT, said protagonist is Shadow the Hedgehog, and that fact makes everything that goes down in this game perfect comedy gold.
I want to mention someone made the calculations for the amount of dead animals underneath MandaloreGaming's video about this game Your player character managed to wipe out *2% of the entire animal population in Africa by himself*
"Am I hallucinating?" Honestly, this is probably the best, least emotionally devastating way to interpret the plot of this game. The protagonist is locked in a Silent Hill-ass journey of the mind. Battling his inner demons that take the form of legions of inexplicably hostile wildlife.
I have this theory where the protagonist is actually going through psicotic episodes during the whole gameplay and most of the animals he "hunts" are in his head, hence why they dissapear after being killed, but the ones who don't are usually deer outside of the map and bosses like the Black Lion, wich everyone only mentions one of as far as I remember, and you start seeing hordes of them only after they mention it. Btw I didn't know this game was that rare, I may have the demo downloaded in my 360
I had a theory near the start of the vid/stream that Jacob (player character) became a conservationist to enter animal reserves in order to hunt endangered species. But after watching the whole thing, I think it's less of a theory and more so implied.

The funny thing is that this probably isn't the craziest ending to one of these games. There is a Dangerous Hunts game where you play as Big-Dicked Big Game Hunter trying to track down his friend named Bullseye, yes really, who disappeared. So you go on this global search for your friend who apparently worked with a group called Wilderness Rescue which apparently just goes around and hunting down animals that have killed people or some shit. So after killing wolves and bears in North America, Lions and Cheetahs and Hyenas in Africa, Tigers in India and then crocodiles in Austrilia, you eventually you get to Siberia where Bullseye's last location wise and it turns out that the thing that killed him was a fucking Yeti.
I'm not someone who hates animals, but this game just reminds me of those games in Chuck E cheese. Where you play with 2 players and they both have guns, and you get to like it more different places and stuff.
So about the jeep section, it's bat shit insane, yes, but not as insane as you might think, Water Buffalo are notoriously defensive, to the point they're nicknamed Widowmaker and Black Death, Rhinos are possibly even moreso because they're damn near blind and live in one of the harshest environments on Earth. And then there's the Hippo, who acts exactly as a pissed off (Aka always) Bull Hippo does
Now someone needs to edit the Water buffalo stampede scene from the Lion King and add someone driving a jeep through the middle of it, while someone else is shooting at the buffalo. And just to piss off PETA, put their logo on the side of the jeep. 😏
Fact: The Desert Eagle uses .50 Action Express rounds, considered to be one of the most powerful handgun rounds so the fact that regular cape buffalos can tank such a round proves that nature is actually a threat to mankind
