Steve Gadd brought something to the instrument that is still unique to this day. Every time I watch him I’m inspired to keep creating music and exploring!
It's pretty ridiculous but yet it's pretty pop-culture expected to see this legend almost ignored when discussions or "lists" of percussionists come up, this guy is one of the best ever, a true legend yet he goes unappreciated and left in obscurity 😢
If it's one thing he does is keep a simple pulse. Much of the music he recorded lent itself to such playing. He plays 5s both hands in march's. Samba's. Ghost note funk was interesting. Not just beats, but unique beats set him apart before his time... Good for him.

👍 I wish the sound was better but Gadd's always amazing!
Great Selflessness in sharing his knowledge by slowing down the grooves!!Brilliant!!

What Steve did for drums is like what Henry Ford did for the car and Thomas Edison did for the light bulb. Changed the world.

Don’t be so sure. Some of us greybeards remember, continue to listen and learn, to the masters of the times before.
