Steve Gadd brought something to the instrument that is still unique to this day. Every time I watch him I’m inspired to keep creating music and exploring!
If it's one thing he does is keep a simple pulse. Much of the music he recorded lent itself to such playing. He plays 5s both hands in march's. Samba's. Ghost note funk was interesting. Not just beats, but unique beats set him apart before his time... Good for him.
What Steve did for drums is like what Henry Ford did for the car and Thomas Edison did for the light bulb. Changed the world.
