"This ain't Brokeback Mountain, you can't just ignore things you see out the window that makes you uncomfortable "
I Hollard 😂🤣🤣🤣
Just heard that part and im over here rolling! 🤣🤣
I died with that comment.😆
Speaking of Brokeback Mountain, I needs to watch it still
Michael Meyers? Michael Nasty!
Oop! That part…
Jamie yelling for MICHAEL will forever be such an iconic moment to me.
Yaaaassssssss🤘🤘🤘🤘
Right? She's tired of running and living in fear, she was ready to face him.
Loomis would be proud.
It gave the same energy as Sidney in Scream 3 ''You want me motherfucker ? Come and get me ''. We definatelly can feel the Kevin Williamson parts on this film
#BOSSBABES
I always thought this movie, at least dramatically speaking, was a perfect ending to the series. Laurie stopped running, fought back, and defeated Michael for good. Her grabbing that axe and deciding to end it regardless if she wins or loses is so iconic. I loved it.
Halloween 2018 is a poor man's version of H20.
I agree! However you know the studios want to milk ish lol
@@elizabitty213 Unfortunately yes. They always do.
@@ryanjacobson2508 Yup. Even though I do like Halloween 2018, it was almost exactly like H20. Traumatized, paranoid Laurie convinced that Michael is coming back while her family treats her like she's just crazy and refuse to listen until it's too late. You're right. That is exactly like H20. 🤦♂️😂
And that final exhale right before the credits! 🤌
Fun fact: Norma is played by actual Jamie Lee Curtis’ mother ‘Janet Leigh’ who played the lady in the shower in psycho. The scene where she talks to Laurie as a mother is gold
And she is driving the car from Psycho.
@@NeelTheSphynx trueee
@@NeelTheSphynx AND the music is a slowed down score from psycho!
Also love the part where Laurie tells the kids to drive to the Becker's house...Clearly a nod back to Scream 1, within which Casey's dad tells her mum to drive to the McKenzies, love how it's all come together!😊
And she shares a first name with Norman Bates' mother in this film. I never noticed that before.
Interesting facts about HALLOWEEN H20: (1998) (1) Even after 20 years, Jamie Lee Curtis said that seeing Michael Myers on set still scared her. (2) Jamie Lee Curtis considers the film a thank you note to her fans. Curtis: "Without that early career, I truly don't think I would have been an actor." (3) During the scene where Norma is leaving, she stands in front of the car from Psycho (1960). The music playing in the background at this part is also from Psycho. Janet Leigh, who plays Norma, played Marion in Psycho. The license plate on the car is also the same as the second car Marion buys in Psycho, NFB 418, which are Norman Bates' initials, and lastly, Norma is the first name of Norman Bates' Mother from Psycho. (4) In the scene where Janet Leigh's character speaks to Laurie, she asks if she can "offer some maternal advice." Laurie is played by Jamie Lee Curtis, Janet Leigh's daughter. (5) This is the third time Jamie Lee Curtis has worked with her mother, Janet Leigh, onscreen. They both appeared in the same episode of the television series 'The Love Boat' in 1978 and then in The Fog (1980), which was directed by original Halloween filmmaker John Carpenter.
#PREECHFACTSGIRL
Very touching to see them on screen together. H2O was weak on scares, partially because of a bad performance from the guy in the Myers suit. But what it did have was class.
You know she didn’t know who Norma was when she watched. I’m like WAIT YOU HAVENT SEEN PSYCHO HAVE YOU. It’s so fun to watch this for the first time again through you
I loved the Janet Leigh cameo. They pack so many references into those scenes. Not only is she an early scream queen, it's such a nice tribute to Halloween 78 which had so many Psycho references itself. I always heard Janet and JLC had a super close relationship in real life, so it always makes me happy when I see them in these scenes together.
I'm not sure if I read this too fast but also this is Janet Leigh's last film before she passed away.
H20 handled Laurie's trauma better than the new Halloween in 2018. They went over the top in the new one.
The cameo of Nurse Chambers in this one is SO much better than what we got in Halloween Kills.
At least she survived longer in that one rather than dying in the opening.
Fun fact: Someone brought up a plot hole that in the scene where Molly and Sarah are watching Scream 2, you can probably assume that before that, they were watching Scream. And in Scream, you see Randy watching Halloween. Meaning Molly and Sarah were watching Randy watching a movie about their Head Mistress… which kind of creates a paradox 💀😂
ALSO: producers actually reused most of the music from Scream and Scream 2 because they wanted a more darker tone to the movie
It was actually because the original score didn’t “fit” to them, and the test audiences liked the Scream music more, so about 75% of it is that with that other 25% being the original score.
Alanda: “I’ve always been a fan of that face, protect it!”
Me already knowing what’s coming up in a couple minutes: “Well, his face will NOT be protected”
Lol 😂
The phrase "who's gonna tell her?" had never been so applicable.
The moment she said it, all I could think was "It was at this moment she knew...."
I ran to the comments but u beat me to it 🤣🤣
I peed!!!😂😂😂
@@seanduncan3624 soon as she said it, I opened the comments lmao 🤣
Its so sweet to see Jamie Lee and her mom share that one good scare scene.
Laurie was a badass in this one. Love how she confronted her past and dealt with her trauma in this film.
As much as I enjoy the newer movies, if I could live in a world where Halloween, Halloween II, and H20 were the only ones to exist, I’d be so happy
1978 ended with Michael’s ominous breathing throughout Haddonfield; 1998 ended with Laurie’s triumphant breath of relief
Agreed!!!
H20 is a cinematic abortion. Terrible movie!
My go to Trilogy
Totally!
The one and only trilogy! PERIOD!
The friend foursome is such a throwback. Josh Hartnett, the boy from Jumanji, Taylor Vaughn from She’s All That, and Michelle Williams.
Not to mention the LL Cool J, Janet Leigh, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and nurse Marion guest appearances. Such a gold mine.
When she said Josh Hartnett looks 27, I chuckled a bit all those actors looked older than what they were playing.
@@blaze2001 always! I recently rewatched She’s All That and was just like, “I believed these people passed for 17.. wrong!” 🤣
@@ElizabethDeAmicis Yess I remember watching Beverly Hills 90210 and wondering why Andrea looked older than 16...she was like 30.
This movie is shit
Josh was also in Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, The Faculty and Sin City.
This reaction was 🤣 indeed it's a nice addition to the saga. Gurl, the woman playing Norma is Janet Leigh, the real life mother of Jamie Lee Curtis and star of iconic fim Psycho which you DEFINITELY need to give it a go! Can't wait till you're all caught up with the Halloween movies and next months release!!
Completely agree, except Psycho isn’t a cult film.
Psycho is a classic, one of the first slashers. RIP Janet Leigh.
Omg that moment with Jamie and Janet 😩💜 and she pays homage to the original by saying “ everyone’s entitled to one good scare” 🥹 We miss you Janet
The car she's driving is from Psycho too.
Psycho was an enormous hit and cultural phenomenon;it's not a cult film.
The Halloween series (almost) had a 10 year relaunch thing going.
1978 - The original film
1988 - Bringing Michael back for part 4
1998 - Bringing Laurie back for H20
2007 - Rob Zombie's remake (should've waited a year)
2018 - Bringing Jamie Lee back yet again.
Halloween 2028: The Estate Plan of Michael Myers
Michael sitting up in the background after getting hit by the fire extinguisher like “did you really just do that Laurie” always has me CACKLING!
We love Sidney, we love Nancy, but LAURIE STRODE will be a legendary final girl. Also, happy that you are feeling so much better. Love you!
Laurie walked so Sid and Nancy could run LITERALLY♥️
@@TheeOGBobby well there’s something Sidney has that Laurie and Nancy don’t which the next movie takes points away of Laurie’s status as a final girl. That’s all I’m gonna say cause we know how resurrection turned out😂. Sidney is the best final girl and Laurie has so many iterations that even her worst iteration Halloween resurrection takes her down. Nancy is arguably a better final girl that Laurie my girl went up against a dream demon but sadly like 90% of the survivors they die.
@@Ghostface1998 I like to imagine that this end is THE end. No such thing as Halloween Resurrection lol
@@cupofcait well too bad cause it’s not the end lmao and what happens next will always affect how I rank my final girls and Laurie is number 5 for me. At least in Halloween ends it’ll be the last time she plays Laurie cause ma’am needs a break and I want Danielle Harris to return as Jamie in a new timeline.
Well Sidney has one timeline and never died she's a true badass!!!
Yes this IS the same house from Scream 3. Personally I love this movie, it was great. I’ll never get over the fact that people see young actors in the 90’s-2000’s & think they are older then they actually are. Josh was 19 when he was in this movie. He was born the same year the original was released
This particular Halloween holds a special place in my heart. It was the first one I saw when I was a kid and it's also the one out of all of them I've seen the most. My cousin was the one who introduced me to Michael Myers. I never heard of him. I wanted to watch it because I was super into scary movies. Still am. So, we went back to our Aunt's house and watched this one. I loved it.
Mine too 💜
Same here man
It's a very good Halloween movie to get started on IMO
Laurie is the OG of weapon dropping. My husband was napping, and I laughed out loud and woke him up.
Sooo glad you feel better and are back to looking luscious and making us laugh.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! I feel like H20 gets overlooked, because the franchise became so silly. It felt like the perfect bookend to this timeline.
I agree. There’s no more sequels after this one in my mind.
I love that you put “Don’t call it a comeback!” in the video’s title, as both a reference to LL Cool J’s appearance in the movie, as well as the return of Laurie Strode.
"I've always been a fan of that face, please protect it."
Me: 😬
Here’s why I like this Halloween. My man Mike drove like 3,000 miles from Bumblefuck, IL to Northern California passing all kinds of toll booths and check points and gas stations with no driver’s license 🪪 and never got stopped or profiled once.
That's freaking hilarious 😂
9:26 Josh Hartnett was 1 of favorite angsty teens of the 90’s 😂💯
He’s great in Penny Dreadful if you haven’t seen that show. Great gothic horror featuring characters from literature
Lmao @ Michelle acting all brokeback mountain ignoring things she sees out the window 😂😂 great observation Alanda love that line
I always loved how in scream they watched Halloween and the girls in H2O were watching scream in their room.
Thus does create a kinda brain hurting paradox if you try to think about though.. 🤔
There was a horror/sci-fi film that also came out in 1998 called The Faculty. It had a huge cast that included Josh Garnett as well as a slew of others. I'll probably leave some out, but...Elijah Wood, Famke Jansson, Robert Patrick, Salma Hayek, Jordana Brewster.
She said she's already seen it on another video..I forgot which reaction though
@@timitree3 Must have missed that.
@@wampa25 no worries
She should definitely do that one
I remember loving this movie. Would love to see a reaction!
It's funny you say it, because it IS the same house from Scream 3! I'm so excited to watch you watch my fav sequel, this movie is pure post-Scream '90s nostalgia and I can't get enough of it
The reason Josh Hartnett's hair is so crazy is that he was always wearing a beanie between takes which would cause those cowlicks. LL Cool J's "Comb your hair!" line was improvised because of it
He did it on purpose cause he hated how clean cut the stylist would make his hair lol
@@ogrick Imagine choosing that godawful hairstyle over something that has control. Lol
I didn't remember Janet Leigh's character name was 'Norma,' as in 'Norman' from Psycho. That's low key hilarious! Jamie and Janet were also in the OG The Fog together. Another John Carpenter classic! 100% recommend! Thanks for another fun romp through memory lane!! Happy spooky season!!
Norma was the name of Norman Bates' mother
I’m so glad you reacted to this, this is probably my favorite one out the entire franchise. They acted down in this, I always get anxious watching that chase scene no matter how many times I watch
When Laurie chopped off his head, girllllllll!!!! I LIVED! Nobody does it like Laurie and she is the moment💁🏽♀️
@@SmileyAdventures I know right!! She had the right idea just the wrong person
@@SmileyAdventures That BS with him switching places with a paramedic as shown in Resurrection was so stupid. This should have been the ending period.
@@alucard624 Yeah I did not get this ending like okay Michael apparently crushed his larynx so he could not communicate with Laurie. But what the heckeroni stopped him from taking the mask off
Y’all we know how she’s gonna feel about the next movie cause of you know what happens in the first 10 mins and how they explain how Micheal returns (some bs). Honestly the original, Halloween 4, and Halloween H20 had the best endings to a Halloween movie. Laurie was such a badass in this movie and truly became a final girl not someone who was continuously crying or dropping her weapons. This movie is definitely good and never understood the criticism especially those who don’t like the setting like um hello haddonfield has been the setting for every freakin movie and it make sense that Laurie wouldn’t live there after multiple encounters with Micheal.
H20 is my favorite out of the Halloween franchise. So glad we finally made it here! But I can't wait for you to see Resurrection because it is.... something.
The chase scene where Laurie's son and girlfriend fight Michael has the same music in it as the first scream does in its chase scene from Tatums house.
Very cool since the first scream has many tributes to the original Halloween
Alanda i cannot wait for you to see Halloween (2018). When i tell you i was GOOPED. Also, Halloween H2O always was one of my favorites from the franchise. Good storyline, has LL Cool J, and the stand-off between Michael and Laurie is ICONIC. Just like when you were sang that Kelly Clarkson song 👏🏾👏🏾
Agreed
I always watch Halloween, Halloween II, and Halloween: H20 back to back. I call it "The Laurie Strode Trilogy".
@@Thundarr100 having seen all of them, think I’d rather HALLOWEEN (1978), HALLOWEEN II (1981), then jump to HALLOWEEN (2018) and HALLOWEEN KILLS.
@@TheeOGBobby only problem with that is Halloween 2018 ignores Halloween II. That timeline is Halloween, Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends.
@@Thundarr100 Yeah, I kinda agree. As much as I love the original Halloween II (fun fact: my very first horror movie back in 2011 by the way), the main reason they ignored that movie in the new timeline was because John Carpenter admitted that he was drunk the night writing the script for Halloween II. He was running out of ideas so he decided at last minute to make them brother and sister. John wasn't a fan of that idea for years because he thought it took away the mystery of Michael being a complete stranger that has no reason or motive for his killings. So, he wanted to bring that back for the new movies.
I love these videos that are longer than 30 minutes - so many reactions are tooooo short. Thank you!
A queen reacting to a queen! Today just got a little brighter. I've been looking forward to this one for a while, and I'm sure you'll love what Laurie serves up in this latest trauma. :D
I was born in September of 1978 and Halloween is my favorite movie. So when H2O came out in theaters I was there on opening night. Loved every minute. It was so special for me. I was turning 20 and my favorite movie turned 20.
OMG IM SO HAPPY THIS REACTION IS FINALLY HERE!!! It’s one of my top favorites of the entire franchise!!
I’m also happy that you’re feeling better! Sorry that you got so sick
For a good portion of the production of H20, 4-6 would still have taken place in the timeline.
There would have been a scene where one of the students was reading out loud their essay on the history of U.S. locations, specifically Haddonfield. When class was over, Laurie would have ran into her bathroom and puked, as the essay mentioned Michael's other massacres and that Jaime has been killed.
I remember watching H2O in the theater and waiting for Laurie to mention her daughter that was killed, even briefly. I know JLC specifically wanted to disassociate from those movies but it felt like such a a slap in the face to little Danielle Harris who gave those movies her all and whose character has her own fan base just like Laurie.
A scene like that in this one would have been interesting.
Yes, I read about that cut scene from the script. I still like H20 but I personally wish they would have kept the connection in, at least to pay homage to 4 and 5 even though I didn't care for 6. Danielle Harris, and her character, deserved the acknowledgement, in my opinion. I guess one of the issues for JLC was that she didn't think it would look favorably on her character (aka. Laurie) to have had a daughter left behind so it was best to leave it as a different timeline. I guess I can see the point but I also think there were ways to be creative about it without Laurie being portrayed as abandoning her daughter.
@@DarthMacchio Me too, I was waiting for the mention and acknowledgement as well. Actually, it wasn't until after I went online that I found out 4-6 wasn't considered a part of the H20 timeline. Up until a certain point it just felt like H20 was ignoring & not mentioning the 4-6 events rather than outright telling us they never happened. I suppose the neat thing about H20 is the viewer can still watch H20 and consider that 4-6 still happened if they want. Nothing really outright refutes it **shrugs**
Although, had they kept 4-6 connected, it could have provided more of a backdrop to explain why Laurie was so so overprotective with John up until this point if she actually came across any news coverage relating to the events of 5 and Jamie's presumed death at the police station with Michael. I know the biggest hurdle for the writing would have been to explain why Jamie was separated from Laurie in the first place but maybe the automobile accident Laurie used to fake her death was a real one? Maybe she thought|was told her daughter died in it and later found out the truth after being in hiding and after the H5 events? I mean, H6 did introduce the cult idea, maybe they were planning to get their hands on Jamie for awhile and opportunity had knocked, lol. Just a random "what if" scenario that can be thrown out there. 😄
@@heathergraham2581 It may also have to do with JLC being a little possessive over the series, as Danielle has mentioned JLC being a bit rude.
Did any one notice in the video from 31:09-31:37 it was the musical score from Scream where Tatum (Rose McGowan) was fighting Ghostface in the garage?
Also I noticed in Halloween H20 they were watching Scream 2 and in Scream ('96) they were watching Halloween ('78)
I do think the timeline of Halloween could have ended with H20 but, then Hollywood got greedy! But I am excited to watch with you, the requel of Halloween (2018) which is a true direct sequel from Halloween 1978.
And if you listen closely to the background music it's the same score as the music in Scream Kevin Williamson was involved in this movie so it has a lot of the same elements as Scream and I love it
Norma was played by Janet Lee from Psycho. Who is also Jamie's mother. So her talking about being maternel is meta af. I love it.
On behalf of Team LL Cool J Thanks for watching the BEST Halloween film. LL COOL J slayed. ❤️
Fun fact: The older woman who bumps into Laurie after the busses leave is actually Jamie's real life mother. I believe this was her last film before she passed away. She was the woman killed in the infamous shower scene in Psycho.
This is the best Halloween sequel in my opinion! And the best iteration of Laurie Strode. I find the portrayal of her trauma all these years later very realistic (unlike 2018 Laurie who I think was a little overdone - but still decent). But she is so badass and has that final girl fight that we love to see. The ending was *chefs kiss*
Until they ruin everything in Resurrection...but I'll let you come to your own conclusions about thst steaming pile of garbage lol
The actress who plays Norma in this movie is Janet Leigh, Jamie Lee’s mother in real life , also she is the girl who gets stabbed in that infamous shower scene in Psycho.
You were missed and I love your reactions to scary movies!
Great to see you back! “Michael Halloween myers” had me crying
I love love LOVE the Rob Zombie Halloween adaptations. They're so DARK and fucked up and I guess that's my cup of tea. Can't wait to see those reactions. Glad to see you doing well! 🙌🏾
LL is my boo!!! I've loved him since I was a kid. He's my lifelong celeb crush and one of the very few black men to survive a horror movie. He's managed it twice! 😂❤️ Woooo.
So glad you're back Alanda!
Don't you ever leave me for that long again lol
Here for Evil Dead 2013 again
Janet Leigh, mother of Jamie and star of THE ProtoSlasher Psycho, not only doing a cameo but driving the ACTUAL car from the movie. Such a well done nod of the hat.
Originally, this movie was supposed to feature a scene that referenced Jamie and the whole cult thing. Plus the movie would have been called “the revenge of Laurie Strode”
29:34 Since Mchael and Laurie are siblings in the 4-6 and H20 continuities but in the current timeline they've thankfully gone back to how it was in the original with them not being related Michael's head tilt was "Long time no see sis."
The nurse in the beginning is the same nurse who worked with Loomis in the first 2 original movies as to why she had a picture of Loomis and Laurie's file. 😃 And to be fair with the son, he didn't know nor did Laurie know Michael was alive lol I mean 20 years no sign of him understandable...This is one of my favs in the series. Great reaction!
Even though it's a terrific movie moment when Laurie and Michael stare each other down through the door, I always just picture Michael crouching under the lil window hiding after she looks away and back again
H20 is definitely a favorite! I'm glad to see people giving these older horror films a chance! The Halloween series is the best! Each one is unique in it's own way 🎃
It’s my second favorite movie in the franchise. Every time she screams his name I get chills.
IM SO HAPPY YOU FINALLY WATCHED IT! I just watched it today after going awhile without seeing it. All the love for H2O!
Halloween H20 and Jeepers Creepers were my favorite movies growing up
Notice how in Scream and in Halloween 1978 the line is "go down to the McKenzie's" or "drive down to the McKenzie's". In Scream Casey's last name is Becker so in this movie Laurie/Carrie tells the kids to drive down to the Beckers residence. I love this so much.
Commenting a second time lol I'm so glad you liked this one. I loved that Laurie got a little revenge on Michael. She stopped being scared and got pissed! He ruined her life, came at her again, but she wasn't having it this time. Can't wait for you to get to the new timeline.
This is my favorite Halloween movie. This movie I’ve watched the most out of all the others in the franchise which says a lot since I’ve watched them all like a billion times (except a few I’ve only watched a few times like 3, curse, 2007 reboot & 2009 sequel, oh & Halloween kills)
Yay!!!! Another Halloween video!!! Can’t wait!! So excited to see you back Alanda! 💕💕🎃🍂
Michael "Halloween" Myers. Sounding like a disappointed mom using the full name. I gagged. 😂😂
Yay, this & Chucky are my favorite series you’re watching. 💙💙 Happy to hear you’re feeling better. ☺️
The ending is iconic. So excited for you to get to halloween 2018 Kills and then the new one ends. Its her best work as laurie strode since 1978. The trilogy is more grounded the mask stays the same doesnt have all the bad cgu things that were going on. Glad your back hun missed ya been werid without a video every week ❤️
2018 was more grounded, yes. Kills? I don’t think so lol
@@CarloisBuriedAlive I second that. Jamie Lee Curtis keeps trying to get this series back on track every 20 years just to have them screw it up again with the follow up (Resurrection and Kills).
Kills is about as bad as resurrection. 18 is good though
Halloween Kills is one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen.
@@robertyeah2259 its just the dialogue and acting for me. The corny lines, the constant "EVIL DIED TONIGHT" then it does not, the "I got this knife" lines.

That Brokeback Mountain comment had me ☠️ Your off the cuff commentary is straight gold.
So glad you're feeling better!! H20 basically using all the same music from "Scream" kept me hyped!
Example: running to the car and down the stairs = Tatum fighting Ghostface in the garage
THE QUEEN HAS GRACED US WITH HER PRESENCE AGAIN AND WITH A BANGER❤️❤️❤️
Fun fact: This is the 2nd movie that Jamie Lee and her mom did together *after John Carpenter's The Fog*
I love your empathy and compassion as much as I love your humour during reviews. This is awesome.
The lady that plays Laurie’s secretary is her mother in real life, Janet Leigh, and also is the main character from the movie Psycho!
You even hear the music in the background and she walks to the same car from that movie 🤩
Part 6 was the first Halloween I was old enough to see in theatre, and easily my least favourite of the franchise (at that point..), so when I saw the trailer for H20 and saw Jamie Lee coming back? wow.... I went opening weekend and it was amazing fun. It's very much of the Scream era, which felt refreshing but also paying such homage to the OG. I LOVED Nancy Stephens coming back as Loomis' nurse Marion Chambers. I was glad you picked up on her being the same nurse that told Loomis that Michael was Laurie's brother. She was also the nurse in the original that got attacked in the car when Michael escaped from Smiths Grove at the beginning. The Janet Leah cameo was fantastic. When they cut to her with her car (from Psycho) the background score changes to play a few notes from the music that played when she was driving to the Bates motel. This is my favourite Laurie, btw... She was so damaged and hurting (loved that scene with the glass of wine in the restaurant) so her grabbing that axe and screaming for Michael in that last act, wow....she is amazing in that moment. So glad you enjoyed!!!
I was very disappointed with Halloween 6. Sucks too because it was Donald Pleasance's final performance as Loomis. But if I have to go with one version of 6, though, I'll go with the Producer's Cut over the choppy theater release.
Incredible reaction to an incredible movie, imo lol. I’m glad you enjoyed this as much as I do!! Fun facts that I know will be/are repeated lol: - Norma is Janet Leigh (Jaimie’s Mama ☺️) who also played in Psycho, driving the same exact car too! - They played Scream 2 as a way to honor Scream the way they honored Halloween in that movie & by playing it on the TV as well.
When I think of the others, I’ll post them if I don’t see them in the comments lol
When I saw this in the theater, when Sarah got stuck in the dumbwaiter, the guy behind me hollered "TEAR IT OFF AND GET A PEGLEG!" and I've been chasing that high ever since.
I’ve always liked this one. I see people talk crap on it, but I’ve always found it to be very creepy. There are a couple things I wouldn’t mind seeing changed, but overall it’s a solid Halloween movie.
I’m also glad you’re feeling better. Food poisoning is no joke!
Ignoring everything after the second movie was the right call and the conflict between Laurie and Michael is done so well. We've seen Laurie fight back, but it was always when she was cornered. This is the first time she goes after Michael looking for a fight, and I love it.
@@judaihyuga And, people always forget that she's not in a house situation, so she can't just drive away with her son and his girlfriend. She's at a boarding school and there are still kids on campus who didn't go on the Yosemite trip. If she leaves, it's not like Myers is going to be like, "Oh, well. She's gone. Guess I'll just grab a couple sandwiches and hit the road back to Haddonfield."
No. He's going to start carving his way through the rest of those unsuspecting students just to give Laurie Strode something to think about for the inevitable Next Time. Can she live with abandoning those kids? She's always been The Ultimate Babysitter. Protect and Serve is in her bones. She Had to stay and face him. The night is long and full of The Shape
This movie is my final Halloween movie. I don't count anything that comes after this. THIS is the end of Halloween, a great closing chapter to the series.
Mine too
Yes, this should have concluded the series.
Although H20 isn't my favorite Halloween movie, it is in the top tier. Anything with Jamie Lee Curtis is always worth a look. As for Laurie Strode, H20 is my favorite performance by Curtis in the role. In Halloween and Halloween II (the orignals) she was excellent, but by no means the only actress who could have pulled off the normal, every day teenage girl. In H20, Curtis took a character that could have just been a simple one-off for one, maybe two slasher flicks and found serious growth, depth, trauma, and humanity in her. My biggest problem with the new Halloween films is that Laurie has lost much of that, and instead feels like a rehash of Sarah Connor or what they've done with Rambo. Now because the movies are well done (the second is a bit weak), and because Jamie Lee Curtis is awesome, they're still fun to watch, but H20's Laurie Strode feels authentically in the spirit of the original version.
By the way, the scene in the dining room is one of my favorites, and it was originally intended for Halloween 4 with Jamie Lloyd in the school cafeteria, but was never filmed. I'm glad they dusted it off and used it in this film.
It was Alanda saying Joseph don't mess up your pretty face then minutes later his character has a hockey shoe through his face that made me lmao!
Soooo glad you’re feeling better!!! This reaction was everything!! We need you in these Halloween streets. ❤️ 👍🏿 🛩 🪓
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ALL WEEK
Fact: In the original Halloween 4 script, they planned a scene where Jamie is hiding in a classroom under desks and Michael is flipping them over looking for her. They scrapped it for time but they took the idea and modified it for this movie when Laurie is hiding under the tables
Yay!!! I’ve been waiting for your reaction to H20. For me, this is the true finale (the way the audience went wild in the theaters when Laurie chopped Michael’s head off is etched in my memory). I know you’re probably going to react to Resurrection, but that movie doesn’t exist for me (I’ll still watch your video of course). My favorite timeline is Halloween, Halloween II, and Halloween: H20 (no Resurrection).
so happy you are doing the whole Halloween series. 🎃
that shot of Laurie being face-to-face with Michael through the door window is so iconic. lmao
So glad you enjoyed H20! I think it’s one of the best in the series after the first three! (Yes I said the first three, because Halloween 3 rules.) I saw H20 in the theater when it came out and the audience reaction to the ending was electrifying!
I love how she asks the kids to go to the Beckers, knowing the parent of Casey Becker in Scream 1996 went to the Mackenzies, an hommage of the same line from Haloween 1978
"Jimmy got soul. Jimmy got, Jimmy got, Jimmy got soul ‼️" 🤣🤣💕
This film is still my favorite sequel, even if I find the cinematography a little weak. It's interesting how the film acts as a soft reboot that mostly ignores the other sequels without committing too hard to the timeline reset. (You can tell that the earlier drafts at least gave lip service to the Jamie Lloyd storyline, even if Laurie's deceased daughter didn't make it to the final shooting script beyond the bloody scissors in the office of Dr. Loomis.) By contrast, the 2018 film makes a cleaner break in continuity, for better and worse. There's a certain value in keeping things fuzzy.
the WAY you said “protect your face” about Joseph Gordon Levitt (i think that’s his name) i was CACKLING because the foreshadowing was great!!!
Fun Fact! The nurse in the beginning of the movie is the same nurse in the OG Halloween and Halloween II. Also, Norma is Jamie Leigh Curtis mother in real life. She plays in the original Psycho movie. And the car she drives in this movie is the exact replica of the one she drove in Psycho.
"This ain't Brokeback Mountain. You can't just ignore things you see out the window that make you uncomfortable" I'M SCREAMING!!!!
A fabulous reaction as always. This movie is full of great cameos and appearances but the best is by "Norma" played by Janet Leigh aka Marion Crane from Psycho, aka Jamie Lee Curtis's own mother. Sometimes nepotism is good because hello Jamie IS a legend. I Love this movie so much and it would've been a great final chapter. I enjoyed the most recent remakes but this one has a special place in my heart
I loved seeing her and her mother on screen again with the classic vehicle in the background
@@BruceThawn83 And a bit of the Psycho theme playing on the soundtrack. ❤️
Love Halloween H20 so much. It’s my 2nd favorite sequel. Yes, that’s the same mansion from Scream 3. Also, if you think this Laurie is damaged wait till future installments. Next is Resurrection and honestly it’s better to watch it as a parody to make it almost bearable. As for Nope, it’s my favorite out of the three Jordan Peele films
Lmaoooo “this ain’t Brokeback mountain, you can’t just ignore things you see out the window”
Fun fact: when Laurie told his son and his girlfriend to drive down to the Beckers, that was an easter egg reference to the first Scream movie.
