I went to Berlin about 5 years back, and there was a real anti-tourist vibe there, and I just found people overall rather unfriendly and dour. That view was also reflected by the Germans I know living outside of Berlin too. Obviously there's a lot of nice people living in Berlin, but yeah I think other German cities have a better reputation for being welcoming, and rightfully so.
