@@danielhiemstra3834 it was a quarantine special back in like 2021 of him working on the coupe quattro. literally spent most of the video cleaning 2 bolts with a wire brush
I mean hell, this time he took apart a bracket, made a couple straps AND put the bracket back together. GREAT productivity gains. When does this car need to run? 2043? He might got this.
Scotto did great lowering our standards of what’s entertaining to watch as far as car projects go 😂 I can be perfectly entertained watching Tavarish rebuild a McLarens Hybrid system in a video OR watch Scotto build a seat bracket and be equally entertained!
I may be too late to suggest, but don't forget the vr6 came longitudinal in the touareg and cayenne. You can get their oil pan. Can't wait to hear the first start, hopefully within a year!
I'd just like to say that Brian has handled loss and the proper way to move forward with Hoonigan like a boss. I was worried and still sad about everything, but I have a sense of comfort and optimism after seeing the videos from the past month and the interview with the smoking tire. Good things come to good people, and I'm glad I'm here to watch. Love you all!
I felt unreasonable happyness watching this, despite all the bad things that happened at the start of the year it's nice to see that hoonigan is on their feet doing stuff like they used to and it actually doesn't feel like a 20 minute video of a man making a seat bracket and bragging about being tall lmao
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the editor/s? They’re probably about twelve years old compared to us ancients but damn they got skills, it can’t be denied.
It would sound amazing with VR6. I taught Scotto would use 07k 5 cylinder. BTW check 2.8 12/24 valve oil pump and sump. You might figure out something.
That’s super cool about the racing seat you got from KEN to go in this build. I lost a close friend 3yrs ago and it still sucks but ideas like this are a great way to remember them.
Love that you're bringing back project builds (always been my favourite part of the channel).. but with some many builds going on we don't need 10 minutes on installing a seat.. stretching for content
You should be able to use a trans from an N52 powered E9X or E9X instead. The only thing that might trip you up there is the pilot bearing. The transmissions are smaller but have the same bell housing pattern as far as I know. Worth looking into. The GS6-53BZ is a big boy. It will fit in an e30 trans tunnel but I imagine it will be pretty tight in an ae86
looking at the thumbnail I thought "it surely isn't going to be a v12 or v10 gymkhana car so it must be a vr6 plus it's Scotto" and here we are I'm so excited
YES!! This is exactly the video I needed to see this morning. I've been wanting to swap a VR into my 914, but knowing its a tall motor, would probably need to dry sump it. Does anyone know the top to bottom (oil pan bottom to valve cover top) and top to center of crank measurement of a 3.2? This is going to be exciting
Honestly, I'm impressed. Putting in late hours to modify your own vehicle. Stuff like this is the core of Hoonigan. The crazy pro racecar level stuff is dope, but very unattainable, seeing built not bought series and an idea turn into a finished project is awesome.
I love the atmosphere they have at hoonigan its not often u get to watch a bunch of clowns mess around with their boss ( head clown himself) who can take a joke and spit some shit back 🤣
That could be a wicked car if done right. Are you planning on turbocharging it? Glad you're adding some of Ken into the car. Pull that back seat out changing it to an aluminum backing. I'd do a full cage plus run some nos on it. I could run you're spending bill up😂😂
Looking forward to see how you make this work Scotto! I'm not quite as tall as you, but tall enough that driving my Japanese car feels like compromising on certain aspects. For example heel-toeing is impossible. Gathering inspriation now :)
I really like the idea of this project. In the Volkswagen community the VR6 swap is a very common thing to do. There has to be a VR6 swap for every model VW ever built. That's why i normally wouldn't like the engine, but swapping it into an AE86, which i don't like neither, is something that could be very cool. I hope this is a project Scotto will actually finish :D
So stoked to hear Scotto will be driving the Merkur in competition!
If he gets this seat mounted before gymkhana I'll be impressed.
Savages
Haha
six years from now...
As brian o’connor once said “no faith!”
Considering I once watched a 45 minute video of Scotto cleaning a couple bolts, this is impressive progress.
Welding even!! We love this progress amigo!
What video was it

Scotto ran the threads clean with a nut, it was epic

Thats because what Scotto is doing in this video is more relatable I feel
😂😂
So into this. Vr6 swap everything.
Brian: what are you making fun of me for?
Vin: we’re not making fun of you yet!
Vin is a savage.
Bracket Brian makes a triumphant comeback
Came to comments to say this 🤣
Scotto has always wanted to channel his inner Takumi 🚗💨 I’m here for it let’s gooooooo!!!
And that would make Gary Itsuki Takeuchi?😂
Who’s bunta then !!!!
@@JB-sv5pr Bunta has to be either Bad Daddy Braddy or Nasty Nads 😤👌🏼 someone older than Scotto and with more wisdom
Kikawa is Bunta for sure. He's a secret savage.
@@hheswe omg I forgot Kikawa! 😭😤 that dude hasn’t shown any signs of life at Hoonigan, even Braddy and Kado have been popping up lately

I bet they have to sort through 4 hours of footage every video
Shreditors*
I can't wait to see one episode featuring this car and then have Scotto show up to competition in the Merkur.
Caroller would be a dope project name, seeing as it is a rolling chasis rn
And its going to be a rolling chassis for a while haha
I really enjoyed this episode. I can't wait to see the follow up explaining where this car has been in two years.
So stoked on this, going to be the best sounding car at gymkhana grid if it makes it.
Big "if".
@@mikescherrer4923 the scale for that “if” is insurmountable. It’s definitely an ambitious build, but we know it won’t be finished.
Scotto≠If
3.2 VR6 Corolla? Hell yea. That's going to be SICK. Knew this was going to be my favourite build in this series lol.
Love that the seat was Kens and will go into this build🫶🏼
It would sound amazing with VR6. I taught Scotto would use 07k 5 cylinder.
BTW check 2.8 12/24 valve oil pump and sump. You might figure out something.
this might be one of my favorite recent builds. VR6 powered AE86 is so cool
Watching 15 minutes of bracket making. This is proper old Hoonigan Scotto content for sure 🥸 weirdly love it to be back.
I love watching 86 builds so im really hoping scotto finishes this one. Looking forward to seeing him in the Merkur though
vr6 in a 86 is why I love this channel
Nice! I wanted to see Scottos set up or spin on tuning. His love for VAG mixed with JDM.
That’s super cool about the racing seat you got from KEN to go in this build. I lost a close friend 3yrs ago and it still sucks but ideas like this are a great way to remember them.
It's not a Carolla until it has a motor. That's why Scotto said Caroller... it's just a roller😂jk great project
Love that you're bringing back project builds (always been my favourite part of the channel).. but with some many builds going on we don't need 10 minutes on installing a seat.. stretching for content
It's Scotto actually working on a car... That's not a stretch for content. This is video evidence that he does actually do something
Its nice to see Scotto working on the car, reminds of the audi alot
Lowers my expectations for my own project
Cool car.. cant wait to see Scotto driving the merkur🤣
Congratulations on making the Scotto-est project EVER
I'm so glad this is back, I've really missed the gang being filmed working on cars
"Do a bunch of measurement." Hahaha. That's when you know this can't ever be scripted! Thanks, Mr. Scotto.
While I liked your old content, I’m in love with the new stuff even if this means feeling stressed by and for Scotto’s build.
Thanks for coming back so soon and pushing the legacy forward.
Much love from the UK
Gary: "This project is questionable"
Oh boy you can say that about A LOT of projects Brian is currently doing 🤣🤣🤣😂😂

Really enjoyed watching Scotto work on his car. This series is gonna be a good one ! Watching all the guys work on their own cars is gonna be sweet!
Scotto is doing a longitudinal VR6 build?! I'm alllll about this. Hell yeah dude!!
It's really nice seeing Scotto work on cars, I just wish he'd finish it too.
i have said for a long time about how the VR6 is a great platform for a rwd set up. about time someone mainstream did this epic swap! WE NEED MORE
An AE86 coupe with a VW engine and Polish parts. I don't know how you came up with that Scotto but I know who I'm rooting for!
This is my favorite project so far! :D Love the engine choice
Easily gonna be my fav build y’all have ever done, the vr motor is such a cool swap idea
Eurowise makes a shortened oil pan to use with the shorter MK5 R32 oil pump. I have it in my MK1 VR6.
Love to see it! Thanks for the support guys
looking at the thumbnail I thought "it surely isn't going to be a v12 or v10 gymkhana car so it must be a vr6 plus it's Scotto" and here we are I'm so excited
So good to see Scotto wrenching again!
Thank you soooo much!!! Been asking for a vr6 build for sooo long
I love how these guys go from zero to chaos in a split second when they pop the hood and it's not bolted down 😂😂😂
That'd be absolutely beautiful, vr6 engines sound so freaking good
Make it so
Those wheels are incredible
As another 6'8" guy, I understand the struggle Scotto. I may not be as girthy, but I still find it awkward to sit in most vehicles lol. Great car man!
"Girthy" lmao that's one way to describe his thiccness
Also 6’8” went through this exact same process to fit my bucket seat in my drift truck. It’s a struggle lol

Scotto's builds are always so interesting, thanks for having unique ideas!
I was right with the VR6 nice
I thoroughly enjoy watching Scotto do all the car things
If I had a dollar for every project Scotto starts and doesn't finish, I would be able to jump into a swimming pool full of money like Scrooge McDuck.
I think this is pretty cool. Showing us what you guys do and how you guys doing it almost like a diy but for y’all cars. 🙌🏼
Never really seen Scotto properly drive so this is gonna be sick to watch! Super stoked for it

It makes me so happy to see a VR in this content.
AE86's are rare as hen's teeth here in Canada now. Great to see you build one.
Love those x7 cressida wheels
F20c ae86 is bomb
that vr6 engine sound is going to be SOOOOO SICK
Did Vin just say “Let’s get into this” like a true RUclipsr! 😂 amazing.
Can't wait for it to be left on jackstands, rotting in a corner. So stoked!
I love the vr6 engines. Currently have a 3.6l in 13 touareg. They sound awesome with the right exhaust
Yo this is gonna be pretty cool!
15:48 I'm seeing myself 8yrs ago in my 1995 Dodge Stealth b4 a Wednesday night street drag lol
I got SUPER excited when I saw the VR 6
So sick. I had a 82 rabbit with a vr it was sick. But always wanted to do sdomthing like this
I’m glad to see you getting back on your projects, cool idea for the motor, I love the off beat swaps, anyone could do a K or LS swap
Hell yes, this is awesome. I can't wait to see where he goes with this. Hopefully i can get some inspo.
Scotto: the goal for this car is to keep it simple
Also Scotto: imma put a dry sump in it
Besides, a VR6 swapped AE86 is never gonna be "simple" lol!
DANGER DAN!! HELP SCOTTO PLS
Welcome back to part 420 of "Is It Scotto's, Does It Run?"
I love the atmosphere they have at hoonigan its not often u get to watch a bunch of clowns mess around with their boss ( head clown himself) who can take a joke and spit some shit back 🤣
I don't care what anyone says , Scotto Will complete the build for Grid he is determined this time , he will get it done . Let's Go Scotto .
Sweet build Scotto. Your build soundtrack is sick too. Good content. Keep it up!
Super excited for this and would love to hear ITBs on it
ITBs on a VR6 is pure love

Bro! I yelled when he said vr as I kept saying it in my head! This is going to look and sound incredible!!
I knew Brian was going with a vw motor. Stay true my dog. Vw for life. Awesome build dude 🤘
More excited about this project then anything on RUclips
this is a build I really want to see. fwd v6 converted to rwd in a little tin can!! yes!!

Being 6'8" and having a love of so many cars I can't drive, I feel this hard. I also love a vr6 so ❤❤.
One of my favorite car-bodies and a VR6. Love the idea Brian!! 👍
I believe in you Scotto! This build is gonna be so sick!
A true Brian Scotto moment, no motor and a non mounted hood
Finally some vr6 stuff
Your engine will fit...over here in Aussie I built a AE86 with a RB25 in it with out cutting the firewall...
Did i just watch a whole video on building a seat bracket? Only Hoonigan can put lipstick on a pig this good.
Gotta love a rare vr6 conversion!!! ❤❤❤
so excited to see the vr6 in this! best wookie noises all day! building a turbo one for my drag car myself, VW's best engine!
Awesome project! Too bad we didn't get the VR5 in the US. Those sound so much better than the VR6.
The r32 engines sound amazing, can't wait to see this done
Remember when Brian started his Land Rover project 4 years ago? I certainly do.
Scott’s is how I know which cars I can and can’t fit in
