- Why does a man with 9 cars need a new daily driver? A 34 year old Corolla, at that? The answer, of course, is carcaine. It hits hard. So while Hert may be juggling a grip of different project cars, it's tough to say no to an adolescent dream car: a proper Toyota AE86 hatch, with some goods attached. Honestly, we're stoked to see where this goes... especially since it's staying Toyota N/A powered.

Actually, I agree with noriyaro, the 4AGE engine is such an excellent engine for the AE86, that it would be weird to remove it.
Kinda like putting a VTEC engine in a Dodge Viper .. it's just wrong, because the engine is such a big part of the cars personality..
Beside, the 4AGE can be tuned up to about 160 HP fairly easily, once you want to go past that, you have change a lot of internals though.
Some have even managed to get it up to 220 HP, though I'm sure that takes quite a bit of work.
But then, you don't get the AE86 because it makes big power, you get it because you are passionate about it.

If you just wants to skid, then buying the cheapest used car that will get it done, like a secondhand Mazda Miata, a rusty BMW or a cheap Corvette. (whatever is cheap in your region)
Something almost contemporary, and cheap, with rear wheel drive.
Then you turbocharge it, add an angle kit, and take it out until the suspension break, then you upgrade the suspension. And drive it again until the radiator blows, then you -upgrade- _replace_ the cooling system.
Then you apologize to the girlfriend for using too much money on an old beater, while ordering that adjustable upper link bar behind her back.

When you buy old cars, you buy them for nostalgia / history / personality - Not for it's performance.

had a chinees one that broke (road legal). got a adly 300cc road legal, then got the same quad different plastics not road legal. but befor that i got a shineray 200 stiie-b quad road legal just for fun at home since my adly 300cc was always at my oncle in his garage. then i got the not road legal adly 300 for at home. and then later got my adly 300 road legal one at home also since my oncle moved 1h away. then later i got a adly 150 road legal for cheap.
then i dumped my not road legal adly 300 at my oncle to drive there he has is own race track we made. sold/gave the shineray to my mom said put it on your name and its yours. but now she want the adly 150... and now i got my self a triton 450cc....

91 BR green special edition 1.6 miata is what I rip around and cruise in spring to fall. Right now It's actually in the process of a tear down and full resto even though it's already really clean for a northeast classic. Hopefully done with that by mid spring at the latest because I already miss driving it a lot.

Most of us are new to the Honda life, but we’re ready to see what it’s all about. We heard the K-Series Frankenstein a literal monster! 👊🏼🔥
Hoonigan, I haven’t got mine tuned yet, but damn it’s mean for what it is, it’s got completely forged internals on the bottom end and the drag cartel s2k modified oil pump for all those high revs 😉, and then I put 11:3:1 wiesco forged pistons, and a full k-tuned exhaust from header all the way back. The goal is some larger injectors and find a super charger kit that won’t make me sacrifice my ac or power steering.
Jimmy Belt Frankensteins aren’t really much reliable for boost but it is possible if u build the motor right with sleeves, pistons and head work so glws my guy!
yeah this needs a NA k series with itbs OR a beams with itbs.
@joe general, my original plan was to stay all motor but I have seriously been considering going the supercharged route, I should’ve went with higher compression for staying all motor, just simply for how my final goal is to push around 400hp.

A lot of people don't realize the versatility of the toyota blocks and heads, fun to hear talks about 5ag and 7age's, very underrated engine combos. Looking forward to the build, have a zenki coupe and hatch myself aswell. Keep it up hert.

Long time viewer. This style felt like a combo of A Beer With/Build Breakdown/Tangents. What I loved about the first 100DTs, was that it was a group of people hanging out, and the viewer felt like they were part of the crew, without feeling like reality TV or contrived vlog. That style of hanging out, was nice here, juxtaposed with the interview. It felt a like a reality show confessional though. The rolling shots were a better bridge between the two styles.

depends on the motor, 16v? A LOT of patience and a good tuner. 20v BT or ST? aftermarket ecu and a tuner. itb tuning takes patience
