You should use the hard blue side to squeegee the foam residues off the bat; this not only picks up the dirt that was mixed in the foam but also help drying it in seconds.
I use DHS Hurricane II on my paddles & all I do is wash my hands first w/ soap & then use plain water, with my hands, to wipe the rubber in one direction. To dry, I use a squeegie or a credit card & wipe in 1 direction. I then use protective film to cover the rubber. I feel that all the cleaners/soaps on the market are costly & unneccessary. The DHS that I am using now has been on my blade for over 2 years & when I peel the film off, I can get the ball to stick to it each time. I am at 1700s.
Hi. 2 questions. Do you clean your sponge with water or something after cleaning your rubber? Are those nittaku balls heavy? Are they heavier comparing with other balls you might have? Thanks
The traditional way: tap water combined with 1-2 drops of liquid soap or detergent (think of using a professional cleaning sponge, like the Butterfly sponge). Dampen the sponge into the plain/ soapy water and clean using linear movements. Try to avoid circular movements, as you are risking to move the dirt from one place to the other.
@PingPongFootage if you are using tacky chinese rubbers such as DHS's hurricanes then putting on a protective film is also needed to stretch the lifespan of the rubbers
Just think of it as cleaning a window or giving someone a shave. Although argued that this method does not allow a deep cleaning and that dirt can still remain between the rubber pores, if you are not extremely demanding about this process, the traditional tap water- sponge method will work just fine, being 100% harmless for the rubber.
Yo limpiaría en forma ascendente y descendente las gomas y NO en forma circular (ya que al hacerlo en forma circular, para mi se estropearían las gomas)
Wow! I mean, Thank God!!! I would've never figured out how to open a package w/out your help. Much less, know what a sponge is used for until this AMAZING video came out...
This is not good for the rubber - soap foam only seals in the dust and grime. The proper way to clean the rubber faces of the bat is to put it into a pillow case and tie a knot. Put your ping pong balls into a sock (tie a knot). Put them into a washing machine - wool cycle @ 30°C. You can also add some conditioner - if you don't have conditioner you can put a bit of honey with lemon juice into the appropriate tray compartment. The main detergent can be a spoonfull of Arial (non-biological) or Woolite. Set the machine to a short spin cycle. It can be a bit noisy, but it's not as bad as 30 tennis balls or car engine parts. Check my other channel for golf balls, cricket balls and watch/clock components.
This ultimately destroyed my paddle and broke one of the fins on the washing machine that helps the clothes move.....thanks @#% hole no I'm out a pro carbon and i'm going to have to forfeit my local championship to get sponsored. Don't listen to this comment you'll regret it just like I did. :'(
If you want to clean your rubbers for " free" and not using anything toxic you just take a clothes not a paper and you put a bit of water on it and pass on your rubbers and wait for the water is dry. That's the best ay to clean your rubbers and keep it for a long time.

what are any other tips on cleaning a paddle without the soap and sponge?
can you clean it with dish wash soap? and if I don't have a sponge can I use a cloth? or anything I can use in the house?
