You can easily ease the rubber off with the use of a can of liquid lighter fluid. Just lift the rubber slightly and then apply the lighter fluid which will dissolve the rubber cement almost instantly. Once removed apply fluid to a rag and then just wipe away any residual glue.

You should use the hard blue side to squeegee the foam residues off the bat; this not only picks up the dirt that was mixed in the foam but also help drying it in seconds.

This is not good for the rubber - soap foam only seals in the dust and grime. The proper way to clean the rubber faces of the bat is to put it into a pillow case and tie a knot. Put your ping pong balls into a sock (tie a knot). Put them into a washing machine - wool cycle @ 30°C. You can also add some conditioner - if you don't have conditioner you can put a bit of honey with lemon juice into the appropriate tray compartment. The main detergent can be a spoonfull of Arial (non-biological) or Woolite. Set the machine to a short spin cycle. It can be a bit noisy, but it's not as bad as 30 tennis balls or car engine parts. Check my other channel for golf balls, cricket balls and watch/clock components.
