Hey guys! Sorry about the technical difficulties somewhere around the 6 min mark, no idea what happened there! I've edited it in youtube studio (awesome feature !) so hopefully it'll be fixed soon! thanks for all the love on this video! :)
That is such a bloody wonderful comment to read first thing in the morning , thank you so much . Comments like that help me through the rough times (and OHHhhhhHhh let me tell you , the past week has been a STINKER.) so thank you genuinely ❤️
I was confused at the end but someone explained to me that the 14 th doctor lives with donna and relaxes and when he eventually dies he is pulled back to the bi regeneration scene and becomes 15 which is why 15 is so relaxed and ready to adventure again basically a weird form of time lord therapy because 14 rested 15 is re energised
Except that's just a non-canon fan speculation. I think the canon explanation is just that he split there, allowing Fourteen to carry the baggage and deal with it (in retirement), while Fifteen gets to move on from it.
wibbly wobbly timey wimey. even though 14th will not become 15th, 15th can still feel all of 14th's future memories. Being Doctor is very complicated. That is what I hope. I want fourteenth doctor to just have peaceful normal life for rest of his days while fifteenth doctor keeps those memories and moves on.
@@KBRoller No, Russell confirmed that the Remembered Doctors from Tales from the TARDIS were bigenerated Doctors who got to live in alternate timelines. Bigeneration splits timelines, not the Doctors themselves, that's how they all maintain the same memories, so 14 will become 15 at the end of his healing, that's why 15 is the older Doctor and says "I'm fine because you fix yourself." That implies causality, if he doesn't fix himself, 15 won't exist, that's why 14 survived in the first place. It's a form of therapy for the surviving Doctor.
@@GoliathWarfare maybe in theory. I will put money on him regenerating into someone else though in reality. And then they will come up with another overly complicated explanation.
The Giggle was a crazy special for sure, but I really liked it. It was both Weird & Wonderful. 🃏❤ I loved Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker. Teared up a little seeing the Doctor so happy at the table scene. It was heartwarming to get a happy ending.
The toymaker is a celestial being he is literally God in his own relm! So while he is around anything is possible like when he was being shot at he was turning bullets into petals and turning people into balls! So when he shot the doctor he created the possibility of the bio regeneration he influenced it unknowingly! Effectively he changed reality. His powers work like the reality stone in thanos,s gauntlet! I hope that helps explane the bio regeneration shenanigans!
He did live with River for that 24-day night, and he hung out with the Ponds for a while, I think. RTD said in an interview that it is possible that this retroactively happens to all the versions of the Doctor (in a kind of multiverse idea?), and they are all still traveling. Like Nine is still traveling with a version of Rose or whatever. Certainly a boon for fanfic writers, although they could always have that anyway.
One of the hilarious things about classic & New Who is how silly it can be (& how it sometimes doesn't make sense) But that's part of the charm in both Classic & New Who. I remember back when it was like the 80's & it was The Two Doctors - and how they met & how it made no sense that it was possible & Colin Baker's Doctor said about Troughton's Doctor (paraphrasing) that if you travel long enough you'll eventually run into yourself. Sometimes the charm is in the nonsense - and I am SO glad we have 10/14 finally taking time to heal (while 15, who is him) is out there because he took the time to heal. Sometimes the absurd is the best thing ever - and I'm SUPER excited to see Ncuti play my favourite fictional character.
I wouldn't try to think about it too hard about the logic in this. It just means David Tennant didn't have to die again and neither did Donna which as far as I'm concerned is a win.
Buy generation was signed up for this episode and will become standard I think throughout Doctor Who now if not in practice at least the theory will be proven and stand
7:55 - not evil, the Toymaker simply doesn't care. The Toymaker was just moving all the minor pieces off the board for the main game. 11:23 - if you had a chance for the Doctor to move in with you, would you take it? 11:53 - thanks to the leftover Toymaker power, they are both the TARDIS. Neither is a copy. 12:47 - more like a well-deserved vacation, along with spoiling his niece
Photocopied the tardis.....brilliant! The giggle was the best episode of Dr Who I have ever seen, and I am even going back to the early 1970s. The episode can be a bit confusing at first because so much happened, so much to take in, and a lot of WTF moments, I really think after watching about 2-3 times more times it all fits into place. Cant wait for the Xmas episode, looks awesome.
I loved this Special... and am beyond happy that 10/14 gets time to just 'be' and heal. Ten had one of the shortest of all Doctor's lifespans (in-universe only like 6 years). And, according to the novelization of The Giggle... Fourteen has only been in form for 15 hours. So glad he gets to joyfully remain and heal with his best friend... it's well deserved. Personally, I think this actually allowed Fifteen/Ncuti to shine more, not less. Most regen eps focus on only the outgoing Doctor... the new Doctor only gets about a minute of screen time, at most, at the very end. But here, Fifteen just lit up the screen. Was brilliant along side of Tennant. And his energy was commanding... and compassionate as he comforted his 'younger' self. Best kick off of any new Doctor, in my view. Can't wait for Christmas.
Essentially it happened because of the toymaker, the laws of reality were not in play at the time to Doctor was ‘killed’ so the bi-generation occurred. The result is open to interpretation though, I personally feel like he used his regeneration energy to physically create 15 who can push on without the tiredness, whilst healing himself mentally in 14’s body. Cool concept, and I think they’ll shelve Tennant’s doctor again for a while to let Ncuti Gatwa’s incarnation shine.
How the feck have you not got more subscribers.... So refreshing to see a review with the voice of absolute reason across it "Of course you will. You always do". Aint that the truth lol Thank you Katie. You are so funny ;-)
The ball wouldn't have fallen straight down. The wind at that height and the weight of the ball would have blown the ball sideways. It would have eventually landed without much force.😊
it feels like its supposed to be a character reset for the doctor. remove alot of the doom and gloom from the past and let that part of them live a life before deciding to regen or die out, or even be reassimilated by another doctor. but i wouldnt think bi-regen will become a staple, i think it was a plot device to allow a character to move on and a new one to not be saddled with their depression.
I got to know, your Walking Dead Monopoly game, is that the one that they handed out to the crew as a wrap gift one of the final seasons? I worked on Fear the walking dead as a prop maker and on season 7 they gave us a fear the walking dead version. I still havent opened it.
sadly nope, i THINK the monopoly came from amazon years back, unless I'm mistaken. Ohhh no way dude, you're a prop maker?! that's bloody awesome! thank you kindly for lending your craft to FTWD! (Side note, i haven't opened mine either!)
The bi.generation was supposed to be a myth, and The toymaker supossedly turns myths or stories into reality so it make sense that the bi-generation es being caused by him. He made it real
I'm sure many artists had the same idea of making fan art of the Doctors doing the Spider-Man point meme, since Doctor Who cosplayers have already recreated the meme at conventions.
The doctor was only wearing one set of clothes when he bigenerated. The new one got the shirt, the underwear, the socks and shoes. The old one's going barefoot and commando now.
I never picked up on the split clothing until watching Watch with Marcella. Shot one heart out, he has two remember, having two different ear rings can be a new trend, run with it. I prefer Thin Lizzy tbh.
My favourite of the specials wow now two doctors to see too loved we got the toymaker and Mel back still loving Donna's rhythm when see smash the attacking doll. Roll on the Christmas special
The Doctor's had some moments to breathe. Remember his honeymoon with River Song was twenty something years long. And didn't Matt Smith's doctor spend quite a few relatively peaceful years growing old...
The Doctor knew River was going to die, so he could never truly be at peace AND the Eleventh Doctor was fighting battles endlessly on Trenzalore Finally the Doctor can settle down with no battles to fight, and just work on improving his mental health
Yes! RTD described it as spiderverse like. He also mentioned that when the bi gen happened, the doctors of the past experienced the same thing. This is a gift from the toymaker really. Couldn't have happened normally. We're in the whoniverse now and there very well could be multiple Docctors roaming around out there. Anything can happen from here on out.
So Russel said in an interview that what HE thinks happened when the Dr bigenerated, was that at that moment, EVERY dr bigenererated across the entire timeline, thus explaining EVERY instance of us seeing "old" drs, like the currator. They are ALL the original drs that grew old while the new dr went off and had the adventures. WIBBLY WOBBLY TIMEY WHIMEY BULLSHIT lol
