Thank you watching all of my Doctor Who specials these past few weeks, let me know your thoughts and feelings in the comments and would you like to see more Dr Who content on this channel?
yeh buddy, i thought i could hear that Bristol accent, and yeh you are correct, a fair bit of this was filmed in Bristol , my hometown, back in june 22, The Giggle (2023): Clare Street,,,and The Giggle (2023): Broad Street in the centre of Bristol, and some of the new Doctor who this Christmas is also filmed in cliffton i belive even the street and shop back in 1925 was Bristol
When I was a child the Celestial Toymaker was one of my favourite stories. Thanks to repeats during the school holidays in Australia I think I saw the story three times. Tardis hopscotch and life size dancing dolls. Fantastic. I have waited and waited for decades for the Toymaker to reappear. Loved this special.
The Toymaker was defeated when he and the Doctor played a game that was similar to Hanoi Towers, I can’t remember the name of the game. The Doctor realised that the Toymaker’s world would disappear as soon as the Doctor won so the Doctor went into the Tardis and, if I remember correctly, tricked the game by imitating the Toymaker’s voice.
Loved the joyousness of your reaction. And how you got emotional at the end. I loved the ending they gave Fourteen, to actually have a happy ending. Couldn't have wished for better.
1. No, The Toymaker is not a time lord. 2. No, The Toymaker doesn't appear to be The Meep's "boss." We don't know who that is. 3. Yes, that really is The Master in The Toymaker's gold tooth. 4. We also don't know who The Toymaker's legions are, or who The Toymaker was running from. 5. Russell T. Davies has said that we'll be meeting some of the gods The Doctor has defeated again.
Few random things! Melanie - travelled with 6th and 7th doctor (before ACE). I am legit upset the card david drew wasn't a 10 like CMON LOL. Also Ncuti got the tie and undies so clearly David is commando in those trousers :D (also Like the salt was a myth AND a rule last epsiode, the toymaker made bigeneration a myth AND a rule)
Thank you for filling me in on which doctor Melanie was the companion to, I really liked her involvement in the special :) and The Toymaker’s presence being the reason that Bigeneration was able to happen… AMAZING! Also I am laughing hard at the commando comment 😂
One of the goals for the 60th Anniversary specials was that they set up a spinoff show that will be about Unit. This was nicely accomplished in _The Giggle._ It appears that the major characters in the new show will be Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, Shirley Bingham, Melanie Bush, Donna Noble, and The Vlinx. And since Fourteen is now part of Donna's family, the new show is the most likely place for us to run into him again. I hope it will be possible for viewers ouside of the U.K. to watch it.
Just found your channel. Loved your reaction! Nice to see someone be as delighted and touched by this special as I was. It was perfection! Yes, the ending made me tear up too. To see Tennant's Doctor get to be happy with Donna is so heartwarming and emotional! They're my favorite duo as well. Can't wait for the Christmas special and looking forward to your reaction to it!
RTD said in the commentary that the vlinx is a new character who's backstory is that he was recently rescued by unit from a crashed spaceship. Over the course of either season 1 or a spin-off (or both) we'll see the vlinx get a bit of a make-over as the team repair him. Since he isn't animatronic, there's a character actor in there, I wonder if he'll eventually walk around.
The Archangel Network was a series of mind control satellites that The Master used to get himself elected Prime Minister back in series 3 "The Sound of Drums".
I loved this Special sooo much, and I really enjoyed your reactions to it!! You're such a wholesome dude, I would love to see you react to more Who for sure man!! Keep up the great work ;) A few things I reeeeeally loved in this episode: 1. The Toymaker coming back and being portrayed in such a great way by NPH. I have been watching the original Doctor Who, starting from William Hartnell of course, and the episodes of The Celestial Toymaker - even though mostly lost - are one of my favorite early stories of the show! Those episodes have such an eerie feel to them, with dancing dolls and children's toys, kinda like an eerie carnaval feeling. The Celestial Toymaker already made for a formidable and scary villain back then, so to see him come back and portrayed by one of my favorite American actors and really make use of his amazing skillset too? I was thrilled beyond words! NPH freaking nailed it! His Spice up your life performance gave me soooo much joy, and his lines about the human race and all its games gave me chills. Just like "Well that's alright then!", I thought that was sooo poignant! Really awesome villain, definitely one of my top 3 villains now! (Next to Missy/The Master and The Silence (those creatures of the Church of Silence haunt me lol!). 2. The commentary on humanity. I loved the writing (RTD ftw!) and the lines from David and Neil about humanity, it gave me so much life!! With the cancelling and the rage and the endless games.... As Tennant says; "Hating each other, you never needed any help with that!"... It just felt so accurate, current and like a real good commentary on how insane the world is. I absolutely LOVED how they gave voice to the way we feel like things are just crazy rn. 3. The Doctor-Donna, and just Donna and fam. I loooooooooved seeing my favorite duo together more and more these last specials, it gave me so much nostalgia and warmed my heart for sure! I've always loved Donna / Catherine Tate's portrayal of her, and seeing more of her, her family, her daughter Rose!! OMG, I cannot tell you how psyched I was about this arc, I freaking loooooooove ittttt! Seeing a bit more, even though it was just that one scene, with Bernard /Wilf... My heart!! Just the entire Noble family, seeing 14 settle down with his friends... How Donna tells him "To come home"... This episode really made me cry in a good way. I think it's perfect as well
The whole bi- generation is actually a time loop situation, David’s Doctor will stay on Earth for awhile and when the time comes for him to regenerate again he pops out of his past self as the new doctor who has had time to relax and fix himself and is full of energy for more adventures
RTD said the next series will feature a bit of Fantasy in episode 2 and I read today they are already filming season 2 of the doctor. So they must be happy with Chuti . The scene with John Logie Baird is based on reality. He used a puppet called Stookie Bill. There is a picture of him on JLB’s Wikipedia page Subscribed ❤

@@swiftlymurmurs Non-human? Well, definitely, but I strongly suspect it's non-biological. Of course, I would have said that about the Daleks too, before we saw inside them. But K9 was also non-biological and he was fantastic.

Personally I really enjoyed it!!:) Not only it payed tribute to the classic series (and there were ALOT of great callbacks) as well as New Who, but it also teased what is going to come in the future; really encompasses 60 years of Doctor Who goodness!:) NPH was PERFECT as The Toymaker and need more Ncuti ASAP! I feel his energy is infectious just like how Matt Smith was in The Eleventh Hour back in series 5. Thank god Doctor Who is back!!:) 10/10 Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor) was and always will be my doctor since he was my 1st I grew up on. Hopefully I will get to meet him in person someday!:) Just curious though, what do you mean by old Doctor Who fan? 🤔
First off it’s nice to see a fellow Transformers fan in the comments 🤖 Secondly I can’t help but agree with your whole comment about the special and about the show overall + I hope you get to meet Tom Baker some day :) And thirdly I’ve been asked this a few times now 😂 but by “Old Fan” I mean as in someone who once use to watch the show regularly but still loves the series (just from a far as of the past few years), I’m not referring to my age (I’m 31) and I’m mainly a New Who fan who started when I was 13 years old but have also watched a few episodes of Tom Baker and Peter Davison’s eras growing up many moons ago (but not fully knowing what Dr Who was back then lol). I didn’t want to refer to myself as a “Ex Fan” as I felt that sounded more like I don’t care for the show anymore whereas I just haven’t watched it in many years. I hope that makes sense and sorry for the long reply.
@@LynkCableTv Thanks alot!! Im actually surprised that some people don't recognize where I got my name from, but I guess to be fair I'm using the G2 Autobot logo which is not as iconic or recognizable as G1's. Thank you for that! I think this special as well as the Children in Need special and the Tales of the Tardis clips was a really great way to celebrate 60 years of the franchise, and also feels like RTD truly understands DW and the fans. So great to have him back as well as David Tennant, Catherine Tate back. ahh ok that made more sense!:) I consider myself an "Old fan" since 1) I'm 36, and 2). I've watched DW since I was about 2 or 3 y.o since they use to air Doctor Who on local public broadcast tv stations and got to see Doctors 1-7, and ofcourse New Who when they aired new episodes on BBCA from 9-12. 7:46 - Archangel network - used by the Master to be elected Prime Minister, before he had the Toclafane come out and decimate Earth's population. 13:23 - yes, THE Master. 13:56 - the fun is that the Toymaker will only be limited by the rules of the game. So if you don't play a game with him, then the Toymaker is not bound by any rules. Doing things without rules is too easy, so the Toymaker prefers to play games so there is a challenge. 20:58 - a fan wrote in that the new TARDIS design looked great, but as someone who was in a wheelchair they would never be able to go inside. So Russel Davies added that ramp option based on the fan's letter.
First comment did not come through, so again. Kate took the Master. She is sporting pretty red nails - never did before so visibly. Check 6:50. Cheers, you are brilliant!
I did not see her walk in right in this moment. She is the one who takes care of every alien item and I just guess, that even without knowing, she would take a leftover gold tooth from a super villain. We will see! Hopefully they played us good with the visibly red nails.
