@@spopdee6072 when i made this comment, i passed the first phase by over leveraging. it works but i had a lot more to learn. now i'm at the point where I am consistently profitable, but also looking for a source of income. it's so important to not skip any step and become successful the right way. It's more realistic this time, and that's a good thing.

Simao Luis Why is making 2k an issue ? Trust the process man. Keep in mind they’ll give you a free repeat if you’re in some profit. Follow your plan and be consistent with your risk. Don’t start risking more because you only made 2k this will kill you. Keep doing what you do and you’ll be fine.

Finally! Someone in the industry finally got it right when it comes to funding trading accounts. I have looked at a lot of other companies and none of them have the right business model like FTMO does. I actually discovered FTMO from someone's RUclips comment.
in fact you have 10.000 usd to trade.. not 100K..!
100K is a mirage.. like you have 1mil but you can lose 10.000 only..!
so, you have 10.000 per account, not 100k.. because 90.000 is useless..
to pass the challenge youi must double this 10.000 usd and verification another 5.000.. for example: if you buy 10.000 ftmo account you must pay 150 euro, and must make 1000 in one month, with limit of 1000 losing.
in other words you must double 1000 usd. first month and 500 second one.. and third month if you made 1000 can withdraw 700 only.
on the other side, with an ordinary broker, with 150 euro deposit, if you double in one month.. make 300, and another 75 second month..(to respect ftmo rules) you have equals of 375. and another 150 in the third month.. u have 525. (but if you decide to double volume inthe second month you are free to increase it without reaching that stupid 500 daily loss limit and lose the entire account ant waste one or two months of your life and money, and you can make almost 700 usd, the exact 700 sum like ftmo account).
in fact its the same thing, but the ftmo losing limits make the difference...
if you reach the limit with 1 usd.. you lose all account and must pay for another one and so on..
in fact this is the strategy.. many people lose with this limits, because they are looking about big sum mirage..
FTMO real accounts sum is 10% of what you see there..

trading in my verification, I made a lot of mistakes in my trading so far, like tight stop losses, and does not respect ranges, enter on correlated pairs, spending too much time concentrating on the charts, until I felt like my brain is exploding, and many more, so any recommendation for me beside shooting my self will be great, right now I am checking my mistakes to avoid it next week, and applying few changes that I learned , and hopefully, I will recover soon, and become an FTMO trader, thanks again for your videos
I will like to add that the timing of trading is very important, and relaxing for me because I will not be on the screen all day long, and I will add that in my strategy from now on, I wish to be able to pass my verification phase as soon as possible, and that is my experience so far, and best regards to all

After passing verification if your doing 20% a month consistently do you have to wait for the 4 months to scale up? Is there any exceptions for outstanding performance gains??

This is very an eye opener
lesson learned.. Don't rush things out. there are 30 days challenge, and 60 days verification which equates to 3 months before you become funded. that is equivalent to learning a new course in forex..
Although if you meet the profit requirement early you don't have to wait the full 30 or 60
Is profit splitting still a monthly deal or has it changed to bi weekly ?

Will be starting the process in January 2021. It's been 3 years of study and demo to get me to where my abilities are now but I have no money to trade. Thank God I discovered FTMO.
@Juan Rafael Puente we trade for them and they take 30% of your profit but they give you a pretty big account to trade.

Important question, Ima take the challenge next week and I am confused. If I am holding a position which I entered 2 hours before an economic event and during that event the impact takes my trade to profit during those 2 minutes and is closed by my TP (not manual) is it a break of rules? You're just not allowed to enter during these 4 mins. Any trade taken before is fine.
What is the average spread in case of XAU USD and EUR USD FTMO?
if you are ftmo swing trader and the trade is already in profit and its far away i.e 100pips from the entry point and news are about to happen, will I need to close the trade?, ftmo will close my trade automatic even if the current price is far from my entry point?
Are there restrictions on position size? I know there is one for max daily loss. Also I know that you guys use equity to determine max daily loss, what happens if the trade is above the max daily loss due to draw down but is successful? Is it still counted as a loss for that day?
There is no restriction to position size - as long as the platform is technically able to open (or until you use up all your margin) you are are good to go. If at any point in time your equity hits Max Daily Loss limit, the account counts as violated and it will not be eligible for funding. This applies even for those case, when it ends up being successful.

on the ftmo swing account type you said on your site that you can hold trades overnight and over the weekend. You can also trade during the news releases

Absolutely, if a trade in opened or closed either SL, TP, Entry level and or manually; All of those actions would imply a breach of the trading restriction. (if they occur 2 min. before or after a restricted news)

Yes, even i you withdraw the profits, you will be eligible for the sScaling plan in a case that you manage to get 10% profit in 4 month cycle.

What extra checks do you do on the trades from the assessment? I've heard ftmo does not like tight stop losses but this is not a published requirement.

We are checking that all the trades are in accordance with trading on a real market. We had some significantly different results on our live accounts compared to some FTMO Accounts using certain HFT strategies as there are no slippages on the FTMO accounts order executions. Tight stop loses are no longer an issue as we introduced low commissions to help cover the slippage.

Q1. What are the chances of passing the challenge and if peradventure the trader doesn't pass the challenge, will the initial fee be refunded ?

About the issue of identity verification, here in Nigeria, it is not everybody that has the international passport for verification , over 65% percent of people use the national identity number ( NIN) as means of identification but not all firms accept this. So the question is does FTMO accept the national identity number (NIN) as a means of ID verification?

The funded 100k account type is standard or ecn? Just to know that the price data does not feed from your server only. Most of the brokers not link with market maker.

In case the trader wants to keep part of the profits on the account this sum -Rollover Reward - is deposited to the subsequent FTMO Account that is assigned to the trader for his/her trading period. During the next Profit Split Day, the account is assessed, and there are two cases that can occur: 1. An account is at a profit at the end of the Profit Split Day - The Profit Split will be processed, and FTMO will not take a share from the profit seen in the account up to the amount of the previous Rollover Reward. --> Example: If your $100K account ends the Profit Split day at $111K and $1K was a Rollover Reward, The maximum eligible withdrawal will be $1K (Rollover Reward) + $10K*account's Profit Split Ratio, so $1K + $8K for most FTMO Accounts or $1K + $9K for Scaled-up accounts. 2. Account is at a loss at the end of the Profit Split Day - The trader continues trading the FTMO Account, and the trading period is automatically extended by 1 month. Also, the number of possible changes of Profit Split Day is reset back to 3 and Rollover Reward is reset to 0.

We highly recommend deleting all pending orders on the instrument that is about to have a restrictive news event. If you do get filled during the 2 minute prior to and 2 minute after a restrictive news, you would be in breach of our rules as defined by our FTMO Contract.
What do you mean by “decreasing your capital to the initial balance at the end of the month”?? I thought we have a buffer?

I'm assuming they will decrease it to the initial starting balance plus the amount you want to keep on for buffer should you decide to do so.

Does anyone know why you can't select Louisiana as your residency?
Let’s say I have funded account of £10,000. Daily loss refreshes everyday which is fine. Let’s say max loss is £1,000. I open 1 trade which is in -£200 and then it reaches in £1,000 profit. My max loss is already -£200. But my initial capital is at £11,000 with profit. Does this mean my max loss has gone higher?
