It's a very different vibe, but the saddest song I know is The Last Trip Home, specifically the version by John McCusker. It's also about the loss of identity and the familiar in the face of something that feels inevitable, but it's more of a sad, proud song, witnessing the majesty of something that will soon be gone from the world.
