Same. I personally beat the game on Legendary without mods all DLC but not Ironman, if anything I can see why I lost majority of my tries with a pull on pods at a wrong time and that mission being critical to the campaign when another was walking into the combat zone. Oh, also getting nervous when timers are a thing is usually a run killer for me. Take it slow and steady. There might be limited turns but the game is made so you can think in between each of the turns and have enough left to complete the objective.
I would like to add a very important piece of advice: always keep your soldiers spaced appropriately as many enemies with grenades or other aoe ( flamethrower, Rockets, etc...) will not hesitate one second to hit your guys if they’re packed together and this hurts a lot
I agree and often make this mistake to this day. The Codex's really drive this point home with the psi bomb. Those bastards are great at finding your most clustered soldiers and hitting them with it.
Honestly one of my hardest learned tips was to really focus on FULL cover over half cover. So often I just made the assumption that half cover should be "good enough". It's a great way to watch one of your soldiers get crit shot to death unexpectedly. Then the domino effect comes in and a squad wipe follows. All of this could have been prevented in many cases by utilizing good positions and full cover. Half cover is only used when nothing else exists.
Great tip ... WHEN THERE IS FULL COVER. most times you don't have the luxury of putting everyone in full cover. Plus you have to consider timers, pulling more pods when you move up to that beautiful tree, clustering with your squadmates, etc etc. People always have these kind of tips, and newer players can get messed up by it, because there are always like 100 variables in xcom 2.
I just wanna say thanks, I started my first run horrible on xcom base game and the second one went really well so I changed base game for wotc... Oh boi I wasn't expecting a beating to made my humble again, this videos are a great help to get you on your feet and enjoy more xcom
I like it but there is a mod called RPGO where you can individually update a soldiers stats such as aim whenever they promote depending on their combat intelligence.

@@SykenPlays I'm actually doing a let's play series where I'm attempting to beat in on every difficulty. This has already helped me change my approach and I think it's going to carry well even into the late game on high difficulties. Never stop doing you, syken. Keep on keepin' on!

You might want to take a look at the gatecrasher missions that I have played in various of the runs. If you use high grounds and be mindful with your engagements, you should be fine.
Can you add this text guide somewhere. I don't have time to watch 10 mins for the 1 solid tip i need. Btw love that you offer to take ppls saves on impossible missions (for them) and do a letsPlay

Good point that you bring up. If you cannot alpha strike and kill them, you might want to stand apart from another.

Great stuff to keep in mind. I remember in enemy within I pulled too many packs of enemies and had a bad time getting full capability with my turns
So instead of subconsciously and on the fly correcting mistakes I’m going into Xcom 2 with better planning. Thank you for all your videos

Still feels like bullshit when 6 people miss there overwatch shot miss and my best ranger just dies.

That is why the slides in the video have all the information written on them. You simply need to fast forward and can easily read all of the tips.
