@@AngellusStar Let me rephrase; If you need tips on how to survive XCOM2 then don't play on Legend Ironman, if you don't need tips on how to survive XCOM2 then go head 😀
Always take a reaper or a ranger with conceal on a mission for scouting and, get squad size upgrade. If you are lucky you may get the resistance order that freezes the mission timer until revealed, if you are fortunate enough to get it, use it
The OW penalty doesn't apply to shots taken during an ambush so he was mistaken about that. Of course you can still miss your shots unless they are 100% as I often do. That's why I usually don't put everyone on OW during an ambush; usually save 1 or 2 soldiers actions for afterwards.
@@sillymesillythat's not actually what I said. I said there are no aim penalties for OW shots when they are taken as part of an ambush. In non-ambush situations OW penalties do apply. Not sure of the exact number penalty though; it's somewhere between -15 to -20 to the soldiers' aim.
Just started this game last night. Fk man i'm gettin into this genre now. First game i ever played like this was Fire Emblem 👍 Like a game of chess with animations n sht 😆 Awesome games
Just started playing a few days ago. Really enjoying the turn based strategy and not having to make rushed decisions like when playing an RTS. I'm hooked!
Tip for the supply missions with the crates, set your guys up on them but don't push the button to claim them until the soldier NEEDS to move up because you want as many safe crates as possible to be in the random roll of which crates are marked for extract by the enemy. This means you will likely be sat right next to a crate that gets marked so you don't have to dash up the map and trigger more aggro.
Awesome video buddy, I can’t seem to get past the second month but your tips are quick and understandable 👌 Im scared of what the avatar project turns out to be lol
Great video! I played the game a few years ago but never finished it (I gave up mid campaign). I'm returning to this game to finish it this time, this video was very helpful. Thanks!
I love playing on legend. But I refuse Ironman in any game without godtier stability and lack of bugs. Too many runs I needed to load back because of a gamebreaking bug, a crash that made me auto fail a very winnable mission or just a genuine mis input cause i have a cat. I only save scum when it's one of those reasons but it's reason enough never to touch ironman. Otherwise amazing guide
Ignoring the crates on supply missions and hunting Advent sounds like how I play terror missions on EW. If there happens to be a civilian where i can grab them I will. Otherwise I focus on killing aliens to end the mission.
I had to sacrifice a Heavy Sgt so that my Templar I was trying to level up would survive. There were like 8 enemies, a mec had suppressed the heavy and a trooper on overwatch. Both my guys were 2 health so someone was gonna die...
What is unfair is the fact that you can only access to advanced settings (who permits you to multiply by 2 how long it’s take for the avatar project to achieve, the time of the mission and your health and enemy health) with the DLC
It is, but if you know how the enemies work and how to get the game to play in your favour, with stuff like mimic beacons and special ammo it’s easier than you think. Also don’t use half cover unless your trying to draw shots away from someone else, in harder difficulties enemies hit so much more, half cover is basically a death sentence. Utilise every advantage you can, and you can do it! Takes a lot of practice though, took me several legend Ironman runs to get it down, now I can win them back to back, currently doing a legend Ironman grim horizon run, it’s brutal! You will loose quite a few soldiers, don’t quit if you squad wipe, keep going. Makes a much more rewarding victory when it’s not easy sailing and been a tough slog to the end. Good luck commander! Also don’t forget running away and evacuating out is an option for unsalvageable missions, there is no shame in living to fight another day
@@theultimateturkey ok thank you. I'm doing Legend difficulty but not ironman. Just getting the feel on the enemies and learning whats going on. I think I'll do ironman next but damn!
@theultimateturkey like what is the best class for all lvls? Like as of xcom 1 u could just use dem and Winn all but this one I'm having trouble finding what class I recently learned about the luring pods to ur main defense but still gotta test it
I never want Any soldier to die because building them takes time, what I do is save at every stage and if one of my soldiers die I just reload the previous save and change my strategy.
Only thing I can’t get over with in Xcom is when I lose a soldier I always feel like it’s because the RNG screwed me 80% chance to hit and miss and ether too late or I have to waste 3 other shots to bail out the guy I trouble and still lose a soldier never felt like damn that was a dumb move ima pay for just damn well that’s Xcom screw u over just cause

There are no aim penalties for OW when it is triggered as part of an ambush. You should get in habit of reading the tool tips on skyranger when it is in transit to and from a mission. Though of course in non-ambush situations there is always a penalty the ambush tactic would be almost pointless if there was a penalty for OW ambush shots. I agree with everything else you said although I'm no beginner so it was all already common sense to me.
“The devs want you to die so it’s canon for Xcom 3” comedy gold
It is, but 3 is essentially Chimera squad which suggests you won. 😅
I think no matter the experience level, it's always great to hear an XCOM veteran's advice. Always helps to have a second opinion.
Cheers! 👍
Most important tip for surviving XCOM 2: DON'T PLAY ON LEGEND IRONMAN!!!
Nothing else is challenging enough to interest me though.

Tip 2: load

Hang in there! It can be rough. I won't spoil the Avatar project - but be prepared for a tough fight at the end!
You got this. Take your time, low and slow. Just takes time and experience.

very helpful. The presentation is entertaining and I learned a lot. Thanks
The best way to survive is to just embrace advent and be done with it.
Great tips! Super helpful as I get back into XCOM2 :)
Use a Mimic Beacon in tight situations, place it behind cover but in line with enemy sight
I don't have a gaming pc to play xcom2 but I've put a good 600 hrs on xcom 2 on console. Wish i could play with some amazing mods.

I was wondering, do i need to make a new game to play the DLC, or can i play with a save i made without the dlc?

OK that happened to me too I thought the game was just mad And cheating when it dropped 2 Stun lancers and a priest on me in mission 2.
OK I am a dumb yank. With that out of the way, what does WOTC stand for?
War of the chosen. It was the major expansion for XCOM2, and really was a “new” game with that expansion.
Wtf are those guns he has equipped
The game is so hard. I don't know how players do the hardest difficulty on Ironman. Crazy
