That red 5 with the black rear diffuser, skirts and roof is mint. Love that black and red look. Paint looks good too
besides all the lovely cars i really love that rob takes care of his shed cat(s), they are important for keeping down the gnawing of rubber parts.

@@mattteee2973 America should've made the 25 year import law permanent. It ruins the Japanese car market once the floodgates to America opens on these Japanese cars.
@@icedoutshef yep. The worst thing is when the car is already available in their domestic market, say with the AE86 or A80 Supra, yet they'll still want to import one from Japan just because "it's JDM" despite it being RHD vs their LHD.

Australasia/South East Asia got a ute version of the Mirage, the Proton Arena/Proton Jumbuck. Kinda crazy how they made 90s designed car in the early to late 00's as a ute. Kinda cool seeing people converting them into Evo Utes

I remember a guy here in NZ had one of those Mirages,it was factory AWD,but he had swapped an Evo VI drivetrain into it (straight bolt in from memory).
Rob is going a similar route with one at the minute. Should be insane when its finished

i always wanted a cyborg, had loads of cjo colts... loved them but always had a soft spot for the c5 colt so ive had a few of them too... every one of them has had a rotting boot.. propper lil rally cars, loads of fun

My last mitsubishi rotted from inside out. Its end was putting a bag of coal in the boot and driving off and the coal stayed behind. That and gearbox exploding twice bumper falling off and the odd misfiring. But it kept on going even though I never serviced it or did anything on it only if it need something.
The achilles heel of the Mitsubishis is rust, they don't seem to hold up as well as other manufacturers in Japan

Incidentally I've also liked the 3000GT ever since the first GT game, it was a true monster.
I've yet to own one, and given a choice I'd probably still get another R33 instead, but I always look longingly at them whenever I spot one!
That wagon is right up my alley though, and it's probably easier to park than a Stagea :D

Australia got the Mirage but not the Mivec engine. Also Evo's are a thing in Aus aswell, well before the US started discovering them. We finally got approval from the Govt to bring those EVO wagons in.
Love the Colt's/Mirage's I still have my 92 CA4A that I use as my work hack with 350K on the clock, those and EVO's are common in NZ though the older ones are getting harder to find as everyone's driven them to destruction these days lol
Pretty much the same scenario here for Evo's, rust is the biggest problem.

I got into cars mainly because of racing games like gran turismo. It's been years since i played gt1 but damn, when that music started playing, i still remember the good times :)

The problem with evos is sometimes you have to catchup all the maintenance previous owners didnt do. I have to sort crunchy fifth, worn rotors. It takes time on an average wage. But its worth it.
The fella that owned that red evo 5 owns an equally nice blue fq360 evo X now I think.. Similer set up with the carbon and stuff, real head turner

Thank you for making this video my dream is to own a Subaru impreza but Evo are pretty cool (and rare) and i love them too! I hope someday there will be a video about SUbaru too on this channel keep the good work man!

1. Have it imported from Japan to Belfast
2. Register it in Belfast through a friend or middle-man
3. Bring it down to ROI and transfer the owner registration
4. Avoid the VRT/import tax?

People made fun of JDM car like the Evo but when they first came out during the early 90s, they were affordable 4 door sedan that kept up with Ferrari at the track.
Reuben could easily become a taxation advisor with that expertise

Gran turismo 1 music is on point... *yellow evo tho,funniest part,its a evo 5 so its the real yellow evo*
in that supra, rx7, gto comparison i think the z32 300zx is more comparable than the Skyline models, IMO they were in a different league. Also, a side note the 300zx out performed all those cars in factory trim ;) (can you see my bias showing yet)

Yeah man we had a good few of them, Rob had a couple over the years. Our road tax killed them off. I havent seen one in the wild in about three years
