Fun fact: Larry Chen did tour Top Rank a few months ago and asked why they don't use stackers for storage. Simple answer: it's Japan! The warehouses have to be rated for strong earthquakes - they don't want to risk that one car falls onto the one below when an earthquake hits. ✌️

Now we know why these cars are priced so high, damn scalpers at the ultimate level. Truly absurd!
It's not really scalping it's just a curated brokerage service where they find good/rarer examples for u to buy. As they said most of the inventory shown on screen is pre sold. They are not hoarding it there to jack up prices but just waiting for the regulations in the owners' countries to allow these cars in. U can definitely find more of these cars in the local auctions that need more work done to them. I much rather see these pristine examples in the hands of people that take really good care of them and sell it to others who have the money to maintain and keep them around as long as possible. Versus them being cheap enough to be bought and bastardized by young dumb kids as they did with 240sx

GTR’s are cool. But they’re kinda getting boring because so many channels show them. There’s a lot of other awesome JDM cars that as cool or cooler.

My guess is he was measuring paint thickness, but it's just my guess, and I hope someone smarter can confirm or correct me.

Great channel. I was so close to visitingJapan at one point myself. I had experience with modeling and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to visit Asia. All the best!

Not sure if you'll ever see this comment or not. But I figured I'd tell yuh of something. You say that 400r skyline was the most valuable jdm car you've ever seen. I recently went to the Lemay auto museum here where I live. And saw what my brother called the holy grail of cars from Japan. The grandfather of the supra in my opinion. A Toyota 2000gt. It gave me chills!

@@ToprankImporters 33 is my favorite also. Not a big fan of the 32 sentra or the 34 altima. But that 33 is just right
@@mattthemorningafter The r33 is the worst of the 3 generations. Its the least aggressive, least sought after, and has the smallest racing history. Nothing about it is better than a 32 or 34. Majority of people of can agree that the kouki s14 looks more sleek and aggressive than a zenki, but theres diehard zenki and r33 fans that love the watered down regular traffic looking cars.
i remember when i saw a millenium jade vspec 2 nur for $90k nzd/$54k usd. in nz in 2012/14. lol. tf happened. theyre all 1/4 mill + here now

This is why r34's are so expensive because they have all the supply so they control the price and mark them up like crazy even though they bought them from auction for pennies on the dollar

Iv been seeing alot of auto podcasters, US and UK, talking down on how expensive these JDM cars, particularly the R34's have been selling for lately. They moan about how ridiculous it is that a Japanese car can be 150K. I wonder why they applaud and celebrate the wild values of EU cars from the 60s 70's and 80's, that get bought as asset investments and parked in garages, then get upset that culturally loved JDM cars are getting bought, built and USED.
Bought, scalped then built and used.
The reason why people are moaning about it is that they used to get these cars for cheap and now companies like toprank and others bought them all up to sell for highly inflated values to the states which just now are starting to be able to get them imported.
@@wreak3ryup 2010's you could get a whole 240sx front end for 1500 now the SR's are 4-5k for a swap if not more and the sr doesn't even make good power unless built
Because investors and collectors got in the market and they’re literally bidding $100k-$200k on the first day on BAT or Jap Auctions just because they wanna feel like ballers and big boys. I’ve been looking at prices for these cars almost daily for a long time and it’s always the same 15-20 people doing that, i recognize their names all the time on bids. They just want their cars to be worth a million dollars already even at the expense of ruining it for others
