That is such a cool kind of effect lighting! The art value is certainly there so I guess the price tag is understandable. For smaller bands would you consider revisiting smaller more integrated lighting solutions like Chavet, ADJ, ColorKey, etc? I just liquidated my individual DMX lighting rig which never got deployed because of the weight, storage, wiring, and excessive programming requirements not being quite ready yet. I'm considering running something like Chauvet's bars in "pre-programed" modes for either dongs or by song segment (1 = chorus, 2= verse, etc) and tracked through probably Ableton until I get into maybe customizing them on a per song/segment basis as we attempt to sync up some "flair". Thanks for watching and commenting! Budget is always something to take into consideration for any parts of music gear (instruments, wireless, amps, etc). These are worth the price point because of how bright they are, how clean they look, the options you have for using it, and especially the projection mapping. I love them, and they are definitely cleaner and more pro looking than the other brands. I actually showed up to that video shoot with some ADJ bars, and the director correctly said “dude, we need to use these instead, they look way more professional.” Just my two cents, it really depends on the band and budget and goals.
