Setup and Demo of the BuddiStick Antenna

- The BuddiStick is a small portable vertical antenna made by the BuddiPole people. I ordered one for use at a field day site and was very happy with how well it worked. It also comes in a case that is smaller than some of my XYL’s purses or my laptop cases and would easily fit in a back-pack.
In this video I’ll be showing how to set-it up and giving a demo using WSJT-X FT8 and GridTracker to show how well it’s signal gets out.

Nicely done!
Thanks!
Great video. Thanks. I look forward to the buddipole review. I just got one but haven't taken it out in the field yet.
Coming soon!
Thanks for the setup. I've seen another NanoVNA where they shortened the antenna to get good SWR. I guess with the Buddistick you must shorten or lengthen the radial? I think I've seen that in another video.
What was the deciding factor for choosing the Buddistick rather than the Buddipole antenna. Was it the price difference?
Hey Matt - Good to see you here. I needed a portable antenna for Field Day and I wanted a BuddiPole (I've had one in the past that I used a lot and enjoyed), and If I had another month or so to save up, I would have gone for the BP instead of the BS... The BuddiPole is a better antenna, doesn't require a radial wire. It is a little more difficult to set-up. I do plan on getting another one (BP) in the future, but not too soon, and I'll be sure to do a back to back comparison video... 73 de Tom, ND3N
