I love that the Rani is not your typical villain out for world domination. She just wants to do her experiments in peace. She views the Doctor and the Master as bickering children. She has nothing against them, she just doesn't want her experiments to be impeded
Oh, if only they could. Sadly, the two people who owned the rights to the Rani died and didn’t think to give them to anyone who could use them, so they’re tied up in a bunch of legal red tape. It’s sad, because the idea of an amoral Time Lady who’s only interested in science, and only tangles with the Doctor when they interfere with her experiments, is fascinating!
@@djpookie2000 Nobody seems to know who owns the rights to their estate. They didn't have any children, they died in their late 80's, early 90's, so likely no surviving siblings if they had any. Nieces/nephews could themselves be well into their 70's and have no clue what is going on..

It's quite impressive now advanced and futuristic they made it seem compared to the Doctor's TARDIS, when it was cheaper than his set (no real buttons, or displays, the time rotor is a simple two parts). They basically gave it modern touch/gesture controls.
@@techno1561 Well, they obviously put a LOT of budget into the Rani's TARDIS, even if it wasn't as much as for the Doctor's own TARDIS set. One look at it and it's obvious that they originally intended the Rani to be a major recurring villain. You almost have to feel sorry for Anthony Ainsley walking into that set. ( because some people have already noted an interesting theory about the 15th incarnation series plot , well maybe that’s an interesting twist to contemplate in their guessing)….?
You never gave Kate a chance. She was willing to play the Rani that many times and I spoke to the person that photographed her and said she really wanted to play the Rani.
Ainley is so robotic in that first scene it is something to behold. Nerves perhaps in the presence of the great Kate? Mind you, he's not helped by lines like "fortuitous would be a more apposite epithet". Somebody take that man's thesaurus and throw it down the well.
I think The Rani should have regenerated by now because Kate O'Mara (RIP) is no longer with us, just imagine if The Rani and Missy teamed up :D and took on the Doctor.
If it's the 40th anniversary of the Rani, what if it is revealed that Mrs Flood is the rani to celebrate the anniversary. Makes total sense because of the mystery.
tbh I don't think Mrs. Flood is The Rani, as Mrs. Flood's behaviour doesn't fit The Rani's MO. I watched Time and the Rani, and while there are some hands-in-face moments, it feels like simple Classic Who viewing, first two episodes ok, with a couple of dated things(excessive Mel screaming, and dialogue), a boring third episode, and a bit of a better episode 4.
