This seems lightweight for a "conte dranatique"....almost operetta-like. Beautifully sung.

Yes, with Angioletta mocking the covent's mother superior... it is the most carefree part of this opera. The atmosphere is more serious before and after this part (even if it keeps a somewhat light and agile touch). I find this opera less dragging than Le chemineau, from which I will post an extract at some point.

Surtout connu pour le Chemineau, dont il n'existe guère d'enregistrement. J'avais vu la partition de la Reine Fiamette chez un libraire sur les quais à Paris C'est une musique très fluide et agréable à écouter.

Do you have anything from Astarte by Leroux? I've been looking into this opera for a minute. Another opera I'm researching is Chelard's Macbeth, a bit older.

Alas ! I have nothing on Astarté, but it is on my list of potential orchestrations. I don't know anything about this Macbeth.

@@erlangerleretour3964 I'll post a transcription of vocal piano score of some of the Chelard Macbeth pieces soon on my second channel. Working on the witches' trio (from which Liszt stole some motifs for his Faust symphony... from which Wagner stole some melodies for his Die Walkure actually, so there's a famous link) and recit before; and also the sleepwalking scene and a couple of other arias (for Moina and for Lady Macbeth). I do not have the skill to orchestrate these myself but at very least I can replicate the piano vocal score to give the idea of the music.

@@KajiVocals Oh thank you, it would be already so useful ! I should also do this for pieces that are too difficult to orchestrate for me (I don't have any kind of muscial training beside private piano lessons, so it's sometimes very hazardous) or that I don't have the patience to process.
