when maya doesnt wear so much makeup, she is just so gorgeous!!! she looks scary when she puts on a whole lot of makeup. zhulin looks cute here too hehehe
A little disappointing IMO relative to some of their other ODs that they performed throughout their careers. Not saying this was weak or anything but I would rather watch their blues OD from 1991 or their rhumba from 1994.
@@rolandgreen7484 i actually found some of their waltz CDs a little overrated. They were beautifully waltzy but the patterns they made on the ice weren't very impressive. I especially disliked their Westminster Waltz at these Worlds as I found it slow over the ice, the pattern to be on the conservative side, and they noticeably lose a lot of speed and flow after step 15 when she does her inside three turn. And because they lose a lot of speed and flow after her inside three turn, they have to push really hard on the progressive just before the wide step.
@@rolandgreen7484 I also kind of like Grishuk & Platov's OD that year. At first I didn't like it and found it forgettable. But looking back at it, they have an energy and joie-de-vivre to their waltz that I found lacking in Usova & Zhulin's.
@@rolandgreen7484 B&K especially had some awful ODs. Their jive in particular (1998) was downright awful. I had them at around 6th in Nagano and off the podium at Worlds that year. I also had B&K off the podium at the 1996 and 1997 Worlds.
@@rolandgreen7484 I too didn't like A&P's free dance from 1997 when I first saw it. But looking back it at recently after years of not watching it, it's much better than how I remembered it. It had very ambitious content, more so than either B&K or K&O. I could actually see a good argument for A&P to have placed second in the free dance at Worlds that year behind G&P (even with G&P's errors). And yes to B&K being overhyped and overrated. I couldn't stand them. I personally found their huge splat in SLC (2002 Olympics) to be extremely funny and I had no sympathy for them whatsoever.
@@rolandgreen7484 When I rewatched A&P's FD from that year a little while back, I was actually shocked at how much I loved the construction of the dance and how all of the content was laid out and put together. It was far more ambitious than either K&O's FD or B&K's FD which is why I changed my mind and placed them second in the FD. But I do agree that artistically, it was either going to work or not work at all for viewers. I also agree with you that K&O sold their FD amazingly well but I found the content to be pretty woeful with lots of skating far apart and very simple handholds. The one dance where K&O should have been way way lower was their golden waltz CD as they made a major error. Towards the end of the first pattern after the right inside swing of the open choctaw in foxtrot position, Krylova & Ovsiannikov failed to successfully change into a kilian position, causing them to stumble very noticeably. That not only caused them to lose unison and go off-timing for the rest of that sequence in the corner of the ice but they also failed to skate the left inside swing of the open choctaw in an actual kilian position. Not to mention the left inside edge of that part of the choctaw was very shallow, shaky, not in sync with the music, and not in unison. I thought they should've been 5th or lower in that dance. But I did have them second in the OD and third in the FD.

Какая прекрасная пара была.А костюмы !!!! Особенно у Александра-сегодня его бы точно заподозрили в чем нибудь 🤣🤣🤣
No problems in life, says Maia. Well I guess except for her husband's predilection for teenage ice dancers.
