- I made a custom white PS5 with light up buttons and logo. I also changed the orange standby light to blue. Matte white vinyl wrapped PS5, modified front buttons, and back lit PS Logo.

Sony made a beautiful system to customize. It's PC like with all the different builds I've seen lately. Great job sir.
That is an art by itself and it was very relaxing watching the artist skill and the thoughts that went into it. I like everything about it and may be a mixture of electronic art and modding art.

This feels like one of those things where you have to know a thing or two about a thing or two, otherwise you're just here to watch and enjoy because you ain't never gonna even be close to being able to do this if you don't know.
My guy didn't have to pre order or wait to get his PS5 he could have engineered and built his own. He's probably playing PS6 right now.

You should put a “frosted” translucent film over the lights on the bottom so it’s more evenly lit
Yeah good idea, I think that would look better. I wanted the buttons to look glassy, and they do, but at the expense of even lighting.
That logo lighting should be official ngl

I can picture a version where instead of using the blue filter, you cover the PS logo with filters emulating the retro colors (red for the P and yellow, green, and blue for the S).

I would just leave the ps5 as it is until the warranty runs out. The only thing I would add are those custom LED lights that go around the fan, they connect via USB behind the ps5. Another change would be the face plates and that's it. I wanna do something like this but until my ps5's warranty runs out, it's not getting opened like this one lol. I like the custom work on this ps5.

I like it, nothing too over the top like how some people do, nice and subtle.
The PlayStation logo lights were the icing on top. The buttons were too bright on one side. But it's nice overall.

Quick question … about 8 seconds in … the part around the led lights? Is that easy to take off and how do you do so? I installed the flaming toast decal to change the color of the light when powered on but I always have a little bit of white light bleeding through when you look at it head on in eyes height . Was thinking if I took that part off install the decal then put that part back on . Because it actually lays in that part when you put it on.

Yes it's easy to take off and put back on. You just grip it and pull up on it. When putting it back on, you need to slot the ends into the right position before crunching it down. Checkout my full PS5 Teardown video at 1:50 for another view of me taking this piece off.

When you take that part off , is the led surface flat or does taking that part off leave a little dip ( drop off) ? Meaning the decal wouldn’t sit flat . Do you have a Instagram? Would love to show you a before and after pic. Thanks

Fair enough. I considered diffusing the buttons, but i wanted a glassy look. The light is a bit uneven as a result though.

I forgot my ps5 has a type c port lol 😆 😅 🙃 I never use it.
i don't understand why don't you use the fan power for the led?
I was concerned about reduced power to the fan. I'm not an electrical expert. Also when I started I didn't realise the fan was powered in rest mode, and I wanted the lights to be on in rest mode.
And the fan connector was further away from the buttons (closer to the logo backlight though).
I got a USB rgb light on my ps plate that illuminates the ps logo. Very simple

I would throw away all plastic parts and transplant the electronics in a metal case with one big fan with a dust filter.

Even if you void the sticker you can still get in repaired from Sony
They want you to clean the console now instead of letting it overheat
The vaccumable dust catchers are accessible without removing the warranty sticker though. I have heard that the warranty void sticker is not enforceable by Sony in the USA, but I don't know about other countries.
