Steam & Diesel Power on the Main Trunk Line - Ja 1271 & DBR 1254

It's an exciting month ahead with Steam Incorporated's Steam Locomotive, Ja 1271, venturing north to the Auckland & Waikato regions for the first time since 2011, to join the Glenbrook Vintage Railway in hauling steam excursions throughout October.
This video presents the delivery trip from their base in Paekakariki, as part of GVR's monthly 'Discover Ruapehu Rail Tour'. EMD power with DBR 1254 and its consist departed the GVR on Friday 23 September, with an overnight stop in Ohakune, before meeting up with Ja 1271 in Feilding on Saturday, for the big run up the North Island Main Trunk Line over the remainder of the weekend with an impressive 14 total train.
The GVR are staging many trips with Ja 1271 and a mixture of theirs and Steam Inc carriages.
