Broadway singing is also evolving, many newer stars are incorporating the listed skills, some even on a higher level. And again, we are talking about the stars. However, the average mastery of techniques are much higher. You can randomly pick out a leading actress/ actor and see them demonstrate very healthy belting and excellent head voice which are rare among young pop singers.

She is an excellent vocalist, undeniably, truly marvellous. But it's like I am hearing plain sound, her tone is, I don't know how to put it, too regular maybe? Hearing her is great but she doesn't do that click that will make you come back... Loved her lows and belts!! I would love it if you had done her headvoice too!
For everyone who loves Natalie’s singing please listen to her version of Demi Lovato’s You Don’t Do it for Me Anymore. I just recent heard it but I am responsible for a lot of the in that video the vocal control is unmatched. She really is in a league of her own with the sheer command she has over her voice. She’s incredible.
She is the opposite of Christina. Christina is a character first, technique second singer, Natalie is a technique first, character second singer. It makes sense though since Natalie is a vocal coach, she can't afford bad techniques.
I dont know if people actually notice that the belting range of tenors starts at around F3/F#3 because their voices sits an octave below the soprano's. Soprano's actually starts sounding belting from say Bb4 and so does tenors at Bb3. So comparing upper 3rd octave as low notes to tenors is just not accurate or fair. Tenor with a good technique vocalise upper second octave as low notes(F2/F#2-D#3)
I think she’s an amazing singer, absolutely a virtuoso, but she definitely cannot physically act, which is fine for pop music. I don’t necessarily agree that her voice doesn’t have emotion, but sometimes I really feel nothing in her singing except for the impressiveness of the act itself.
Sadly, Natalie isn't appreciated enough because most people don't know about her. I only discovered her through the YT vocal community and I instantly fell in love with her voice. But most people won't ever find out she exists because she isn't mainstream enough. She's a Broadway singer, and general audiences don't pay attention to them.
She isn’t a vocal story-teller she just has a spectacular voice. When I think of someone like a Shoshana Bean, she has all the vocals and the ability to emote. Natalie has perfect technique but doesn’t convey feelings the best. I’m a huge fan of both.
I’m not sure that’s true - she’s amazing but when she did that live with JoJo or sang alongside Katherine McPhee, there was no comparison! I think she’s an incredible technical teacher but there’s a reason she hasn’t really made it as a performer - she’s got no tone for one!
full lyric soprano, she's just have a great agility well developed, i think. but it doesn't matter, she's just a soprano because she doesn't sing in opera!
Light Lyric Soprano, I used to think she was a Full-Lyric Soprano mainly because her head voice sounded a tad fuller than quite a number of Light-Lyric Sopranos however her timbre displays it; despite the technical proficiency, she still sounds girlish/very youthful!
@@Sergio-dx9wg He''s not wrong though. Coloratura is a very especific designation reserved for operatic voices only. Natalie has a light sopranoish voice.
She's like Ariana Grande with excellent vocal technique and less musical versatility ruclips.net/video/IXKsYiqXmcE/видео.html #VocalSisters (Surprisingly Ariana delivered the better vocal in that clip; my, how things have changed).
Singing is much more than just technique and this lady is the living proof. She’s very good, she has mastered her instrument but there’s absolutely no emotion there. She just fails massively at conveying any message, and a lot of this has to do with her "perfect" vocals. Even her "normal" stuff is too Broadwayish. There’s a reason why worse singers are usually more successful in popular music than these type of vocalists, and it’s simply because the former kind actually connects with people despite their questionable singing. That’s also why musical theater is overpopulated by singers with failed careers in popular music. (Didn’t she try American Idol?) If it were up to them, most of them would choose to be active recording artists who tour the world but they couldn’t achieve that. Natalie is a sweetheart and she’s a true virtuoso, but her piercing timbre is too annoying for me. Anyhow, it’s always pleasant to see how much she enjoys singing.
Natalie, no emotion?? Are you kidding? You can’t even succeed in musical theatre and broadway without emotion, yet you argue she’s locked into that because her technique is too solid, or whatever. I don’t even know what you’re trying to say man.
Ngl I hate her voice. Her belts are technically great but they are so jarring sometimes. Especially when she uses a chesty sound. It starts to sound unpleasant imo. Also I sometimes feel like her technique gets in the way of effectively communicating the emotion of the song. She just always sounds happy.
@@charlienonya7016 being a fan of Christina doesn't mean I can't criticize Natalie. I can accept that Christina has a flawed technique. I think Natalie is not a versatile vocalist.
@@charlienonya7016 Christina is versatile. She has sang rock, pop, r&b, ballads etc etc. Yes, she never sings with a proper technique. However, she still has enough understanding of her voice that she can manipulate the texture and style of her vocals according to the genre. Natalie no doubt has that same understanding, but instead opts to sing with generally the same style no matter the song, which makes her BLAND.
That's the proof that having a decent technique isn't enough, if your singing doesn't have personality. And she does the yodel thing too often when belting. It's very annoying. I don't find her that good

I kinda already have:)

I came as soon as I read the title and I’m leaving this comment for the algorithm
I wish you would do Callie Day next!!! 🤩
could you do a video about Tina turner's vocal ability? I really think she is pretty good and has a versatile voice. By the way, Natalie is a superb vocalist, her technique is out of this world.
She should see it
As per usual...
Your biggest fan is 1st 🥳✌️
You should've included her low notes at the beginning of her cover of "Heart Attack."
help mee.... i jumped out of the bed hearing that c#3.... shocking

After Céline, Lea Michele or Keke Wyatt or Loren Allred
Love lea michelle’s vocals, but she is so cancelled(even though i hate cancel culture
Next time CElinee love it
👏PREACH👏MISTER👏
She is the opposite of Christina. Christina is a character first, technique second singer, Natalie is a technique first, character second singer. It makes sense though since Natalie is a vocal coach, she can't afford bad techniques.
Yea because she once had vocal damage and then became even more devoted to her technique which shows just how much she cares for her voice as a singer
If we had to prove to an alien civilization that the human race was talented I would nominate her
Yesss! Love her
most commom problem of broadway singers are the lack of distinction as opposed to pop singing which definitely requires that distinct voice.
I agree, don’t think that Natalie has that problem though🙂
Loren Allred please!
Can you do Kirstin from Pentatonix next?
Next will be Celine Dion, the video is in making:)
oh yes
I think she’s an amazing singer, absolutely a virtuoso, but she definitely cannot physically act, which is fine for pop music. I don’t necessarily agree that her voice doesn’t have emotion, but sometimes I really feel nothing in her singing except for the impressiveness of the act itself.
I mean...she can support and resonate 'till B5 (Mixed voice), so...
Can you send me the link of the performance at 4:43 please ? I actually got chills all over my body it’s incredible 🤯

I 10000000000000000000% agree
❤️❤️❤️
Please make one for katrina velarde
Bruh her performance of Heart attack and you don’t do it for me anymore???????
Good singer.
7:17 She sounds like Tori Kelly😍
Wow,Your video has ads, have you been monetized?
vocalic great yes my channel was monetized for a second time a month ago:)
My god
5:06 wich performance is it?
Sadly, Natalie isn't appreciated enough because most people don't know about her. I only discovered her through the YT vocal community and I instantly fell in love with her voice. But most people won't ever find out she exists because she isn't mainstream enough. She's a Broadway singer, and general audiences don't pay attention to them.
does she support G#5s consistently? I heard she supports up to B5
José Manuel Pérez the only B5 I’ve ever heard from her was supported
she supports A5 consistently lol
In my opinion she sounds very whiny like screachy at times. But other than that I think she has a nice voice.
3:08 and 8:02 Song please :'(
with him & because of you
She isn’t a vocal story-teller she just has a spectacular voice.
Is she a Mezzo or a Soprano???
a soprano
@@cutiieeepatootieee2002 ohk ty
What song it’s at 4:50?
stay by sara bareilles
memoirs of an imperfect baritone thank you!
Is she full-lyric soprano or colatura soprano?
full lyric soprano, she's just have a great agility well developed, i think.
but it doesn't matter, she's just a soprano because she doesn't sing in opera!
Light Lyric Soprano, I used to think she was a Full-Lyric Soprano mainly because her head voice sounded a tad fuller than quite a number of Light-Lyric Sopranos however her timbre displays it; despite the technical proficiency, she still sounds girlish/very youthful!
She's definitely a light lyric soprano
can y'all stop calling someone "coloratura" ? it's a role in opera, not a vocal type!
@@Sergio-dx9wg He''s not wrong though. Coloratura is a very especific designation reserved for operatic voices only. Natalie has a light sopranoish voice.
She's like Ariana Grande with excellent vocal technique and less musical versatility ruclips.net/video/IXKsYiqXmcE/видео.html #VocalSisters
(Surprisingly Ariana delivered the better vocal in that clip; my, how things have changed).
I like the way Natalie started the note better, but Ariana was more consistent throughout and that vibrato!
@@aintnootherfan Completely spot on! 😍 It's awe-inspiring that she was that technically proficient.
Her vibrato sounds similar to Jessie J's one.
Nonsense, wbk
I agree
@@maryahwatkinsarchives.5505 I'm not surprised, you stan Morissette after all.
To be honest, the music/singers that go popular nowadays has changed. Gimmicky singers are more popular nowadays.
Is that Christina in your icon? Hmm.
@@charlienonya7016 being a fan of Christina doesn't mean I can't criticize Natalie. I can accept that Christina has a flawed technique. I think Natalie is not a versatile vocalist.
@@michellejarone2007 Neither is Christina. Also we're talking about the fact that she's an underrated pop vocalist. Nothing else.
I agree
@@charlienonya7016 Christina is versatile. She has sang rock, pop, r&b, ballads etc etc. Yes, she never sings with a proper technique. However, she still has enough understanding of her voice that she can manipulate the texture and style of her vocals according to the genre. Natalie no doubt has that same understanding, but instead opts to sing with generally the same style no matter the song, which makes her BLAND.
That's the proof that having a decent technique isn't enough, if your singing doesn't have personality.
And she does the yodel thing too often when belting. It's very annoying. I don't find her that good
There is nothing wrong with yodeling!
To much screaming
