When I write, I can fall into the habit of scrutinizing every sentence, bemoaning my failures, and saying “well, I’m never going to do anything.” I finished a rough draft of a short story a little while ago, and haven’t transcribed it from paper to pc, even though the concept is the most interesting thing I’ve ever written. It’s ultimately because I don’t want to edit it, and I don’t want to edit it because I don’t want to say “this is my best.” Vulnerability is a terrifying thing for me, leads me to have choppy relationships a lot of the time. I am able to maintain a good relationship with my girlfriend, but even there, I close myself off in a lot of ways for fear of being hurt by someone because I made myself vulnerable again. Yesterday I was pretty hungover, and I didn’t do any of the daily routine shit. Felt bad about it, but it also kinda cracked the thing inside me that says “hey you’re special and need to prove it!” Excited to do some writing today, get an hour in or so. What I’ve started to learn is that I just need to do shit, and quit second guessing. ‘Perfect is the enemy of the good’ is starting to become my motto.

I haven't much to say and I rarely comment in general but I just wanted to say that your channel is one of the few that I've scrolled down all the way to the first video for and watched them all until I am at the most present video. I really like this way of viewing, you can see the person behind the channel grow, not just contentwise but also mentally and emotionally, somewhere behind the screen. Your video's almost always make me want to get up and do stuff. My compliments to the chef!
I don't care if Kubrick got it right on the first take or did a thousand takes until he was satisfied. For me, the bottom line is that, when I watch one of his films, I know the shot I'm seeing is the best of those thousands of takes he shot. Best wishes from Vermont 🍁

We are all a bit perfectionist it's harder for creatives the longer I look at my painting the more I hate it
